sigh. MGS4 has more gameplay than 360's biggest titles, Halo and Gears of War. try the game before slamming it for once.

isn't the PS3 firmware update 2.4, which is supposed to address your concerns, scheduled to come out sometime this summer?

the only thing is, Ryu is already in Dead or Alive, which is a rival to pretty much every Namco fighter. i don't see Tecmo allowing Namco and Microsoft to use one of their main characters to basically advertise for the rival game. but i guess in this day and age, anything's possible.

still, you really can't get any better than Kratos in Soul Calibur. he would probably trump even Link as the best exclusive character to the franchise.

no. just that, collectively speaking, the install base of the 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and DS far outweighs just the PS3. Indiana Jones is available to at least 70 million people, versus MGS4 thats available to about 14 million currently, and thats assuming that all DS owners also own the 360, PS3, PSP and Wii.

it seems like no one can have a legitimate comment or point of view without someone else automatically pushing them into a certain catagory of gamer.

@360_man

why would i need to justify anything? i have no affiliation to Konami or Sony. it only takes a little bit of common sense to deduce that PS3's low install base, MGS4 appealing to a niche market, and Indiana Jones' multiplatform availability all three contributed to the current sales turnout. i simply own...

MGS4 is a single platform game. Lego Indiana Jones is on like five or so systems. for that reason i'm more impressed by both the number two and number three sellers, though i don't live in Europe.

well, to me GOW and GOW2 look about the same, but thats more a testament to how gorgeous the first game was really. GOW2 looks to add more fine detail, and going by the pics there is a subtle haze to the background, but all in all they both look about the same. however, GOW2 should totally outshine its predecessor as for as number of models on screen at once, and its supposed to have a greater draw distance too, as well as a longer single player campaign. its easily my most awaited 360 gam...

its funny and ironic that people complain about the length of non-interactivity in MGS4. i'm on Act 5, and so far i've had more non-cutscene gameplay time in MGS4 than i had in both GOW and Uncharted combined. its not the game's fault that it has a story thats about 5 times more interesting than anything currently available.

i'm in Act 5 fighting Screaming Mantis now. i can't wait to see how Solid Snake's story culminates, as MGS4 is one of the best games i've ever played. a prequel would be cool, as long as its dealing with either Naked or Ocelot.

in all honesty with me jrpgs (at least the turn-based ones) are on the decline as a whole. back in the PS1 days all i played were jrpgs (95% of my 25 or so PS1 games are jrpgs), but since then my own personal interest has started to shift to other genres. don't get me wrong, i love jrpgs, and for the most part i agree with the article (though there are some points that i don't agree with), but the lack of jrpgs on any systems is not really a make or break deal for me at the moment. five ye...

this could be one of those software related announcements Microsoft is primed to make at E3. still, one has to wonder just why Sony doesn't pay for exclusives, especially since it's lost so many as it is? right now with the exception of MGS4, the only reason there is to own a PS3 is first-party exclusives, and those are spaced way too far apart. all third-party games are either exclusive to the 360 (how the HECK did Sony lose Star Ocean 4?), timed exclusive to the 360, or have exclusive Li...

"Good attempt to drive traffic to your site. It's really hard to believe there were any other reasons to write this article. I wish you a boat load of fanboys! And some money from your advertisers."

most of these reasons were lame to the fullest. if you're gonna say a game sucks because its an exclusives, then you're in the wrong medium for entertainment. and whats with the likening MGS4 to GOW? i guess now every game that incorporates an over-the-shoulder view w...

you know, while i think the idea of multiple discs on "next generation" systems is kinda of a misnomer, i don't really mind it much at all. but what i DO mind is how terribly packaged multi-disc games are on the 360. i'm a real sticlker for my disc being perfect and scratch free, something thats nearly impossible to achieve when a game (like Lost Odyssey) comes with the discs stacked on top of each other. FFVIII was a four disc game where each disc had its own section, and that w...

developers should just let the games speak for themselves. lousy ports show that the PS3 is at least a difficult system to develop for (in relation to the XBox 360 and the PC, that is). Uncharted, GT5 Prologue, MGS4, Tools of Destruction, Lair (sucky gameplay, but a graphical masterpiece all the same), Heavy Rain, and many others all prove that when properly optimized, the PS3 is more powerful than everything except for a high-end PC.

actually, Chrono Cross received overwhelmingly positive reviews, even getting a perfect score from gamespot (one of only a handful of games to have gotten a perfect by them). i played about 90% of the game, and thoroughly enjoyed its quaint and calm atmosphere. as a matter of fact, its probably my third most favorite Playstation-era jrpg next to FFVII and Dragon Quest VIII.

that said, it always amazed me that Square decided to continue with the Star Ocean series, but not the ...

"Sales of the world's best selling Blu-ray machine don't compare favorably among other game consoles..."

doesn't PS3 outsell its nearest competitor in every region except the US? not sure how that amounts to "unfavorable" sales. and i hope MGS4 isn't PS3's Halo 3, considering Halo 3 wasn't all that it was cracked up to be.

...that was a well said post SL1MDADDY. it has always amazed me how people throw up multiplatform ports as a means to justify that the 360 is more powerful, never once even considering the notion that 360 (which is usually the lead platform) and the PS3's archetict is vastly dissimilar. the author of the article must not have done his homework, because if so he would've mentioned the fact that to date, the most graphically demanding multiplatform games perform either equal (GRID and DMC4) o...

thanks for letting me know you'll be making dummied PS360 versions to cater to the much more popular Wii Treyarch.

*edit*

doesn't matter much to me really. now that the series is returning to its WWII roots i lost all interest in it. bring on some Killzone 2 baby!

i've put 9+ hour sessions into Suikoden 1, Suikoden 2, FFVII, Oblivion and Dragon Quest VIII. but i don't think i've ever noticeably exceeded 9+ hours.

there's been little said about most of these titles for me to say for sure. about the only ones i'm getting for certain are GOW2 and Fable 2. Alan Wake, L4D, Too Human and Infinite Undiscovery all four look promising. as for the rest they either don't look all that interesting, or there hasn't been much said about them.
