if Microsoft wants one if its gamers (me) buying all multiplatform games on the PS3, then they will start making installs mandatory. all i have is a 360 Pro, with about 12 out of 20gb left. i absolutely refuse to spend $180 on a 120gb stand alone hdd. $80 maybe, but not $180.
"And I though they were already outselling PS3s..."
that's what happens when you believe internet disinformation.
this is like saying; Rumor: The sun WILL rise tomorrow morning.
the thing is, most people who buy those types of game aren't hardcore gamers. they aren't the type to care about graphics, high-def and hdds. they care about value, which they will still find more of in the PS2 than the 360 (especially since there's nothing stopping Sony from dropping the PS2's price to sub-$100).
whats up with this article anyway? why make a big deal about delivering the finishing blow to an eight-year-old system? even if the 360 kills the PS2 (which i HIG...
well, considering Uncharted is still one of the funnest games i've played this generation, i didn't need much of an incentive to play.... well, i guess the addition of trophies is a decent incentive. when is it coming to the US? thursday, i hope...
well, i'm all for stopping the sell pre-owned games. it's bad for development studios (who are already under financial constraints as it is), which will ultimately end bad for gamers. plus, i'm not too keen on making a purchase that will result in 100% profit for a company like Gamestop; private companies, yeah, but not Gamestop. Gamestop usually employees some of the biggest fanboys imaginable, and usually offers nigh nill incentive to even purchase pre-owned, seeing as they only knock of...
i find it comical that people get upset over what someone else likes or dislikes. i highly doubt too many Japanese gamers would lose any sleep over not getting XBox 720. if it's their loss then it's their loss. i'm sure Japanese people sit at their PC's and scratch their heads wondering why American internet-hogging gamers hate PS3 so much. what does it matter? just play the best version of what you like and be happy.
i like both Microsoft's and Sony's desire to deliver quality content and cater to gamers, but i'm not sure i like Microsoft's strategy of buying third-party exclusives and exclusive content. sure, it helps their bottom line, but it fractures the market for gamers. i'd rather they take an approach similar to Sony's: investing more in in-house development.
all in all i'm excited about both platforms; Gears of War 2, inFamous, God of War 3, Fable 2, Killzone 2, Alan Wake, LBP, W...
is this confirmation that EA's going to focus more on quirky Wii Play-like games, and ditch the hardcore? also, how well does third party games do the Wii? last i noticed PS360 (third-party) games still sell noticeably more than Wii stuff.
LO and BD may have sold that many copies...IN JAPAN. across Europe and in the US i don't believe either has broken the 100k mark. the truth is, jrpgs sell most in Japan, where FFXIII will launch timed-exclusive to the PS3.
couldn't have said it better.
maybe its because that's what Microsoft is known to do, even in the PC industry. it makes little sense for third-parties to make exclusives anymore (that includes dlc) since making more money thru multiplatforming is a much greater incentive than brand loyalty. at this point in this generation i'm willing to guess that the PS3 version of Fallout 3 will sell just as well as the 360 version, meaning that, for all its familiarity with PC, Bethesda will be losing out on potential cash through t...
well, i was getting it for my 360 anyway, but still, its sad that my fellow PS3 owners are left in the cold like this...again, just because some monopolistic corporation is throwing its weight around in money.
2012 sounds about right for the eighth generation of consoles to start. now que the fanboys lol'ing as they claim Sony lied when they said the PS3 would last until 2016, even though PS4 in 2012 doesn't mean Sony will stop supporting the PS3 in 2012.
do you know what the game is already?
a level of immersion that's set to put Killzone 2, inFamous and MAG to shame, plus it's a sequel to a pre-existing title, PLUS SCEE has NO idea what it's about. i don't see what else it can be other than the sequel to SoC. well, i guess there's still the possibility that it can be Dark Cloud 3. who knows? i'm through getting excited until i actually see it.
i'm at work and am forbidden from viewing anything remotely sexual. oh well. from the tone of the comments i'm not missing anything anyway.
i surely hope the 360 isn't losing ground. as a PS360 owner, i have a vested interest in both systems. i hope Microsoft gives me at least another four years with the system (though they'll probably announce the next iteration late '09 or early '10). all that said, i sincerely hate the practice of companies buying exclusives as i think it stifles true competition. i would gain absolutely no new respect if this turns out to be Microsoft tactic to save the 360. like Sony they need to invest...
360 has a larger install base than the PS3, but it does not outsell the PS3. its comical how so many still flock to this delusion. to my knowledge Sony didn't start touting their "10-year cycle" plan until the introduction of the PS3; thats a far cry from the "years" this article purports. still, what does introducing new hardware have to do with previous hardware? Sony supported the PS1 for seven years, and is currently supporting the PS2 into its ninth year. if anyt...
agreed. i always liked the Alpha series better than the main series (especially over SFIII). i don't understand why Capcom didn't just rerelease the Alpha Anthology on the PSN, instead of just the first one. the first Alpha was easily the weakest of the three. still, i may get it for $5...wait a minute, i take that back. Rearmed comes out this week too.
