You'll be lucky getting much if anything out of them, it wasn't long ago that someone at Nintendo was saying they didn't want the public complaining about tech specs or something.

Pretty much, but I've been thinking this for years.. Where's the content?? It's no wonder many think MKDS is the best one, likely because of the mission mode (apart from being first for online play) but then they didn't even bother to include it in further entries.

It's lazy, what we need now is for Playtonic to make a successor to DKR and it would likely show them up again.

It's a bit better than I was expecting: being able to unlock missions on top of the other modes.

But, I think it's still gonna be lacking compared to a full SP mode like DKR had.

Worth it maybe in the bundle, full price on its own? Possibly not but that's just IMO..

It should be cheaper because of the lower resolution, now if it could switch between 480p and 720p it would be good enough.

The sites I've seen selling it don't even state a resolution in the description.

Nintendo = the Apple of games, just about.. and charging more for lesser hardware, that's been an Apple staple for most of how long they've been around too.

Kinda like the Wii U being pretty much a 360 or slightly better then.. Except I'm not sure what excuse Nintendo had for that since it was a home console.

Depends how you think about it, not everyone is going to be happy.

It's like AI art, I see there's already many pissed off about it.. what else can I say. I guess it's like marmite.

I don't understand why they didn't allow use of mini NVME SSD for internal storage, it would be a lot cheaper for the amount of storage you get.

"research" and "demo" key words.

300d ago 9 agree21 disagreeView comment

Yeah that's the thing. It's partially because Nintendo skimps on the hardware, other part because it's a handheld so it's not going to match up to a home console.

The third party games it gets won't run everything current either because it simply won't be able to, some will run well, others will run like crap and some won't run at all.

Then it's only a couple of years until next gen and it will run little/nothing of those ...

My thoughts: has potential for some fun games if they bring back some classics which they haven't bothered with for a while.

Otherwise I thought it actually was kinda lacklustre, nothing we haven't really seen before, very few launch games, Mario Kart was the same old thing with no new modes being shown like Mission Mode or Story Mode.

Reveal was meh, potential to improve.. it's not going to please anyone looking for a powerful system though. ...

The raytracing probably doesn't even equal a low end PC GPU, even if it did it would probably be mostly useless. They'll probably force it in some game now that will run like shit maybe 30fps at best, just because "it can do it"

It's a portable, and it's Nintendo, not unexpected..

If you want frame rate and higher res/textures then just get a PS5 or better yet a good PC.

I wouldn't buy a Switch 2 for third party games unless they were light on the hardware.

It's the same damn thing it has always been but with better visuals and more racers on the track.

"Better than DKR" yeah with no story or mission mode, yet again.

304d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

There's no DKR here.. Nintendo has been really lazy with Mario Kart, it's doing the bare minimum as always.

304d ago 3 agree5 disagreeView comment

Also it's just MK again but with no story mode or mission mode again, rehashed game with more players...

Bit of a stretch to say "human creativity" will always be needed, key word being always. Sure it makes a big difference right now, if you just let it do whatever with little/no effort you end up with lazily put together slop..

It's still early days, but tools to help develop games quicker is obviously a good thing.

305d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

It doesn't help that they don't use the latest tech, and then drag it out for 8 years when it should be more like 5-6 tops.. especially being a portable device which gets outdated quicker.

308d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Well it depends on the games..

I expect for Mario Kart at least, to be another rehash.. Seriously only DS did anything new with the mission mode, there's no meaty SP game in any of them.. it's kind of shallow when you look at it that way.

I wish they wouldn't be so lazy with some of their first party titles.

It's been 50/50, when ChatGPT was quite new I remember a bunch of people saying it won't go anywhere because it was crap and unreliable, today it is much more refined, not perfect... Yet.

Then there were people saying image generators were crap, they weren't much good at first, now look at them, we also had the odd few people saying video generation would amount to nothing useful in our lifetime.

The thing I'm most excited for is curing di...
