For anyone who doesn't actually buy the system, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fairly good emulator for it before the end of next year.. Plus, I'm sure anyone who makes mods would be smart enough to have measures to prevent the bricking, I would think.
I'll give the console a go but they can get stuffed with the key card games.
Well for starters the Siren is completely different, the character banter is next to non existent and toned down a lot, nothing like the first game. The second game already started toning it down, this third entry from what I've heard is even more toned down with generic sounding voices.
Then there's the Stalker, no signs of it.. I think we all know why, because the model will be significantly different to the original, like the Siren.
It's ju...
It seems like they took out the stuff that made it killing floor. It's like it was made by UK Devs: pandering to the easily offended, woke garbage.
Open is good, too open where you easily get lost.. nah. Unfortunately even Nintendo has got a taste of open world and want to make huge deserts now, this is why I prefer Mario 3D Land and World, open enough for some exploration and alternate paths but not desolate either.
Wonder if this is an easy way out of potential Joycon drift.. Screw Nintendo if so. Getting super lazy and cheaping out on hardware at the same time.
Glad they didn't change the art style. This is looking good.. Why did they change the way the characters look anyway? The very first style was kind of ok, it was fine by Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse.. both in game sprite and the dialogue popups, why keep changing it? I am not as fussed on her newer look. She's looking kinda too dark or sunburnt now.
I will likely buy it on PS5, I'd like to buy the PC release but what might be a good idea is to buy it on PS5 and then I may wait for it to launch on PC with a good discount for the 60+FPS gameplay.
Just a shame the PC version probably won't launch the same year as on console. I won't double dip at silly pricing though.
Interesting... But it doesn't mention how the combat or skills work, is it still click & hit or is there more to it?
I don't think there's really going to be a whole lot in it, higher resolution, maybe a bit better on detail here and there? They both have the same CPU and even if Pro runs it better I don't think either console will be more than 30-40fps with dips.
CPU will be a limiting factor, and you can bet R* will want double dippers with console to PC and also console to next gen consoles.
First party is what Nintendo needs, the next Steam Deck will probably run third party games noticeably better though with little doubt.
I just hope Nintendo has quality first party games and don't skimp on the content with long dry spells... One of the issues is that they rely on third party titles to fill in the gaps between first party releases, and if they're gonna drag it out again for 8 years with no Pro model in between, then all I can say is oof..
I hope this has as much as San Andreas and more.. like being able to get fat or fit, plenty of challenge.. and a lot of missions and side stuff.
They can have the game be slightly less linear but not too open. HL2 had parts like that, then Episode 2 did it a bit more.
That and expand upon the physics & AI system and further increase the graphics over Alyx and that's pretty much all they gotta do. I hope they release a separate multiplayer part after if not immediately as well, like they did shortly after HL2 released.
The footage makes it feel like the camera is following behind the car on wheels.. What is it with developers and swaying cameras or erratic movements? I hate it, reminds me of Dead Island or that other game that tried to be like GTA called APB.. This already puts me off.
The key cards are kinda garbage. The only plus is that you can resell them.
I think anyone buying a Switch 2 should only buy the full game cards and ignore the key cards. If you have a PC or PS5/Xbox you'd probably buy the third party titles for one of those anyway since they will look and run better, except for the ones lighter on the hardware of course.
Prime year for Half Life 3 to release completely unchallenged for sales. I know both games are completely different, and it would only likely release on PC.. but still.
Nah but what they will milk is multiple versions. They'll want the double dippers for the better PC release because PS5 will hold it back, then they'll release it again on PS6/Xbox whatever as well. Maximum profits 💰💵💰
I wonder if the rumours are true - that it has a highly destructible environment and very reactive with hot/cold with realism placed on wind and other physics, I guess it makes sense, HL2 was very impressive at the time and it carried over into GMOD. That's what I really liked about it, everything built into the engine.
The only thing that might slightly disappoint me is if they don't upgrade the graphics more. I like that Source and Source 2 has such a clean look, ...
It also means you have to buy a game key card if you want a physical copy, screwed over either way.
Anyone except those not familiar with hardware requirements should know that buying this for 3rd party (except games light on hardware) isn't a good idea. You buy a PS5 / Xbox whatever, or move up to PC for multiplats.
What pisses me off is that Nintendo will likely have some good games but also skimp on content again for others, then proceed to drag it out over 8 years like they did the first Switch..
Plus if PS5 is going to struggle to hold 30FPS wi...
Meh, if I want adult entertainment there's plenty of better options.
