8 years, 150+ Devs and the free roam mode is pretty empty.
What did they do with the time they spent developing the game?? How did they take 8 years? I refuse to believe it.
It sounds like the game may have been ready and they just held it back waiting for the Switch 2 to release.. which already released 2-3 years later than when it could've.
It might be because Nintendo are basically making all their games big and open, and when they do this they can seem pretty dull if there's not much there.. (Mario Kart World)
I prefer levels tightly made with some open areas, like they did with Mario 3D World and Land.
Big and open ain't always better if it's super boring and lacking content especially.
Indeed, decent looking game but this is what happens when Nintendo release what is essentially a Switch Pro late, it was ready to release 2-3 years ago.
Those requirements are actually pretty tame, if anything it just shows that at least half of Steam users don't want to keep their PC up to date every few years.
There's probably a bunch of Steam accounts using bare basic office type computers like Dell Optiplex, which is fine for low end gaming and office work.
There are some much better mid range options on GPUs at the moment regarding pricing, which has been long overdue.

"full bc" when there's a bunch of games that won't work even now, like Simpsons Hit and Run.
Except Dreamcast was a generational leap, majority of games looked just as good if not better than some PS2 titles. More than what can be said of Nintendo since the Wii.. plus an early launch worked well for the 360.
They had a "Sponsored by Nintendo" video not long ago, it literally says so at the start.
I trust them for showing frame rate analysis and they're decent for that, but their overall review for Nintendo is overrated, Mario Kart is the same game it has always been.
Really the only one that got close to topping DKR was MKDS.. So it's no wonder it's often ranked as the highest rated Mario Kart.
I have one being delivered today, god only knows why, I also guessed it wouldn't sell out completely. The chip has been ready for years and Nintendo purposely held it back, unsurprisingly.
Not only is it late but Mario Kart looks mostly more of the same.. And the key cards piss people off, I shouldn't be supporting them at this point. I don't know but I just miss Rare's games from the 64, they consistently delivered top notch games better than Nintendo's...
I think it'd be a situation similar to the first game, it would be downgraded a lot. Don't forget this is supposedly PS5 base, Series S will be watered down a fair bit, so Switch 2 would be watered down even more.
"Most advanced graphics ever in a mobile device" well.. probably not all that true. Maybe because of DLSS.
I have a feeling Nintendo has put themselves in an awkward spot though, I think Deck 2 could well be out by the end of next year and it will likely be a big upgrade. Nintendo has released late, very late. It reminds me of the Wii U in some sense.
Nintendo have the position of having first party games, but they need to bring them.. without l...
Racing games are pretty much always easy to run though. Look at the more demanding ones, 5-13fps gain, not bad but if you already have a decent PC to begin with those gains are small. For a handheld though I guess any boost is a decent boost.
Why is the word "Slop" being used so much lately>? I've been saying it for years, weird how certain words seem to catch on and nearly everyone uses them for a while before it changes to something else.
I thought I heard it was the last game mostly for the original story with Gordon Freeman, not the end of the actual series? Who knows, I guess it's all just rumours and guessing.
Either way I hope the engine has been upgraded a lot if they haven't moved to a new one. Up until Alyx they usually had top tier visuals and stuff, Alyx still looks good and is nice and clean visually, it's just that they took so long to do anything with Source 2 it wasn't at the to...
I don't care for the games that are going to run kinda crappy (Cyberpunk) that could easily look far better visually and in smoothness on my PC, Switch 2 needs to bring the first party games with plenty of content.. The third party games that run well on lightweight hardware are fine.
The key cards are gonna bite Nintendo in the ass and I won't buy a single one, what's worse is that to get a proper physical release of a game it would mean buying a Switch 1 versi...
I'd like to know how it supposedly took 8 years to make this when the open free roaming mode looks so empty, unless they're purposely not showing where the content/missions are..
Really how is driving around empty land going to be exciting? I find that so boring, I get some may like it but.. if there's hardly anything to do then why bother.
It's also screwing over gamers with limited budgets for PC hardware, well Nvidia is trying to at least.
No need for me to buy an Xbox anymore, last one i owned was 360 anyway. That and the original were good consoles. Everything is on PC now and I usually keep mine fairly modern so it's always going to outperform it, and I like to mess with apps and programs that you can't do on console so..
Provided they have plenty of missions to the story and lots of interactivity/side stuff, or add more afterwards.. Not much good if the game is very short or a big desert, or both.
Meh, if I want adult entertainment there's plenty of better options.
If by "impossible port" you mean capped at 30fps and low/medium textures at best then whatever I guess, DLSS will help it look slightly better but overall it's going to be a crappy experience, the Series S and Switch 2 both have slower GPUs than even the low end Intel B580.

If buying this system you're better off sticking with most first party games only, skip third party unless it's something that runs well on lightweight hardware to begin with.
