Ouch you had dial up in 2005? I had 128k broadband by like late 2001 or early 2002, made a huge difference to games. They were super smooth for multiplayer for the first time for me. And it cost only slightly more than 56k.
Instead of seeing like 400-700+ pings I went to like 20-70 for more local countries.
Dial up days in the 90's were only good for turn based games like worms.
Well it takes far more for consoles to get top tier games like Half Life, so a year or so is fine tbh.
Console/Sony fanboys will be extremely salty with this comment, lmao.
Having new dedicated hardware every few years is better.
Wasn't that already explained in the video?
That's what happens when parents let their kid go online with no restrictions.
There's 2 4080 cards. One 16gb and one 12gb, the 12gb one is using a lower tier chip. So it may as well be called a 4070. That's roughly what it is. It's only called a 4080 so Nvidia can price it stupidly to those who know no better.
Guy above meant to say 12gb 4080 is a rebadged 4070. So many numbers it's easy to confuse them.
🎯 Gameplay was recorded on PS4 as well as PC.
This is not next gen only? Guess that's why the game looks good but not really next gen. Disappointing.. Rockstar out for more milking then.
Not played any games at higher than 60fps? There's quite a large jump in smoothness & control feel even at 90fps, well at least when you play with keyboard and mouse on PC anyways.
Nvidia are getting quite greedy, will probably come back to bite them. It kind of has a little already in that they have such a huge amount of Ampere 3000 series to sell and not that many are buying, and now supposedly there is 4000 series already sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be released. That could be true with all the leaked photos that have come out.
Nvidia sold cards directly to miners during the mining boom, and Jensen talks of wanting higher margins. Th...
There should be a Force mode, and other modes apart from the normal mode so it's less repetitive.
The late 90's and early 2000's had some amazing shooters, especially on PC. These days it's mostly just rehashed stuff with better graphics.
Or get both, multiplats will almost always be better on PC. Especially FPS and management/strategy games.
I was playing SNES games with my friend online in the early 2000's, and while the interface via ZSNES was basic, for direct connection via IP address it usually worked really well, rarely any lag and had integrated text chat even during online play. Played Contra 3, Mario 3 etc.. a lot of fun, then there was the Zbattle service to hook up with other players via lobbies etc similar to Worms 2 / Armageddon integrated online features.
Seems the more basic multiplayer servi...
Fun game for a console shooter, same for Perfect Dark. Though afterwards you can't really beat KB & mouse.
Consoles are usually sold at a loss, hoping to make money on software, so to compare them to a cheap GPU these days is pointless. Consoles also do punch above their weight, but not by anything huge.
Also don't forget a PC can do a lot more than just game.
More hand holding for cry babies then, instead of challenge.
It was yearly at one point, the reason for a new series every 2 years now is most likely because that's when they get a worthy (30-40% avg) performance increase. Otherwise it's usually a refresh in between that may bring 10-20%. Usually, but not always it's worth buying in early rather than waiting.
Nvidia is supposedly controlling stock of cards to level out prices so they won't drop lower. Pretty scummy move, i hope they don't do this for 4000 series or it will mean cards will be hard to get hold of.
No, but I wouldn't say it's low end by any means, comfortable average today is about 16gb for gamers, 16gb of DDR4 is very cheap today and has been for a while now. Above average would be 32 in DDR4/5.
