"Crappier screen" have you even used one? Talking utter crap, but then what do I expect from a console fanboy. OLED is good, but not some magical thing, it mostly just makes blacks better if you already have a good screen to begin with.
Those who got a Quest 2 before price raise got a relative bargain.
They love to milk trash, Custom Robo Arena was/is a far better game.
PC has lots of players, even in the 90's with dial-up connection games like Worms 2/Armageddon had very active online communities. For some reason players just aren't interested, things might pick up during sales or when more players discover it. Or maybe PC players are not interested in this type of game these days,
Soldier of Fortune 2 (first version before patches) had a wallhack type cheat back in the day in 2002 that could be enabled through console, imagine leaving in a cheat by accident. Kekw
3D Land and World are better IMO. At least there's more challenge later on and the extra difficulty when you beat the game. Most Mario games are too easy and get a bit boring with the exception of a few.
And 90+fps is even better! Console lovers say the same thing every gen that they are beasts, they may punch a bit above their weight through optimization but not by a large margin, end of the day they are still closed boxes with no upgrades and start with weaker mid level PC hardware.
The "next gen" consoles had Zen 2 CPUs, they weren't the best (vs Intel) to begin with, not far behind mind you.. but right up against being replaced with new gen CPUs on PC as well.
Yeah, playing any kind of first person shooter is ultra smooth at 120+fps, I actually feel and see the difference if it dips into the 60's-70's. 90+ is amazingly smooth.
Have been gaming at 120Hz since 2012 and plan to keep it that way on PC. Console like Nintendo is fine for party games like Mario Party and other exclusives, PC for everything else.
These kind of games always better with keyboard and mouse, kind of like theme park style management games, first person shooters too. Wonder if it will have support for kb&mouse on Xbox.
Meh, GTA 3 was OK, not great (IMO) even at the time. I just usually found it a bit dull more than fun. Vehicle acceleration/speed etc felt off too. They fixed most of the problems with Vice City though, it's rough to go back to 3 after playing VC.
MGS2 however i would easily say was a better game than GTA 3.
PC was the grand daddy of all to begin with tho, bringing us online gaming in the 90s, first to have first person shooters, ssd drives, freedom of what you can run, high hz screens etc...
Consoles have their place and I can see why they are popular however. But at some point they hold PC back, generally 2-3 years after they first launch.
I respect early consoles like the NES a lot though due to being noticeably better vs PC DOS games at the time.
Fairly high(ish) GPU requirements for recommended, which at least should be honest for a decent 60fps and more if you have a more capable card.
Clayfighter was actually not a bad game i thought, kind of amusing at least.
GDDR is graphics memory, the ram without G is system memory. Both are needed for different tasks on PC for performance reasons. Consoles use graphics as system memory which isn't ideal, but it's mostly fine because they're only meant for running games and little else where it would help a lot. Games do get a speed boost from faster system ram though.
DDR5 does actually help boost frame rates in games if you have the faster (6000+) speeds with good timings today ...
4k on console is not always native, it's upscaled. UE5 games will probably be locked 30 for some of them too unless running at 1080p or something.
Phone verification is junk, what happens if you lose or change your number later? This is why it's not good for certain things that ask to verify randomly every so often. And this for cheaters, is an easy work around.. so all in all a waste of time.
No, but I wouldn't say it's low end by any means, comfortable average today is about 16gb for gamers, 16gb of DDR4 is very cheap today and has been for a while now. Above average would be 32 in DDR4/5.
Ouch you had dial up in 2005? I had 128k broadband by like late 2001 or early 2002, made a huge difference to games. They were super smooth for multiplayer for the first time for me. And it cost only slightly more than 56k.
Instead of seeing like 400-700+ pings I went to like 20-70 for more local countries.
Dial up days in the 90's were only good for turn based games like worms.
Well it takes far more for consoles to get top tier games like Half Life, so a year or so is fine tbh.
30fps modes seems PS5 is already struggling a bit.
