S&box still in progress for game modes, was hoping to see a copy of a few modes from GMOD like the puzzle/obstacle course maps, and Zombie Survival. But so far so good in terms of the way the default sandbox mode feels and looks, plus they're adding realistic looking player models now too.
I imagine it should be a pretty active multiplayer game fairly soon.
I'd bet on modders making drivers for it to work on PC, the only thing i can see being an issue is if there's a couple of features that games won't make use of for the headset, since it won't (as far as we know so far) be officially supported.
The NES and SNES were good (for their time of release) in terms of hardware specification for games. But then again we had the Wii which was basically a Gamecube, and then the Wii U which was barely, if any, better than the 360.
Sure there are some (and not even all) nice looking and well running cartoony games on the Switch, but they can't just rely on that, then again they might, they know the money will flow in even if the majority of the games run like ass at 1080p ...
Never had a GBA, i thought the Rush games were good tbh on DS.. I also remember the 3D cutscenes and wondered why they didn't try making a full 3D game with those graphics because it looked good. But then again it only had a dpad so I'm not sure, kind of worked for Mario 64 DS but it still wasn't as good as a stick.
I always found that one disturbing, it's also a model used in Zombie Survival on GMOD, the Poison Zombie is also disturbing looking. Though i don't think they actually "pasted" the face onto the model, pretty sure i read that they recreated the look of a certain image and that's it as far as I'm aware.
Reminds me of Soldier of Fortune 2, for the (at the time) impressive dismemberment in a game, the developers apparently looked at war footage. Quite...
Well it's an adult game, so as expected for a lot of anime really.
Tbh I find sim games boring, like MS flight simulator, looks great but I'd probably play for like 10 mins and that would be it for me. Nothing of value lost to me anyways
To be fair the NES and SNES were quite powerful for their time, never owned a NES (had a Master System) but i did own a SNES and a lot of other machines.
True this will make little difference to the headset as standalone, but I imagine those that care about performance will either be linking up to their PC with cable or via wifi
A portable that isn't that powerful to begin with should be updated within 3-4 years max tbh. I know people like to hang on to their hardware but that's why they see such a huge leap when they upgrade, it's like having a junk PC and waiting 10 years to upgrade, makes no sense.
Even if you don't have junk hardware there is still big leaps to be had in just a few years usually. That's why you see big FPS uplifts with Pro consoles and new GPUs.
Wii was what basically a Gamecube, Wii U was basically a 360. Being portable probably doesn't make any difference to how powerful the console would be with Nintendo. Even Dreamcast was next gen when it came out.
My only complaint with Steam is their BS policy with VAC (anti cheat) in that even if your account is hacked and cheated on, they will not reverse the VAC ban, because whoever accesses your account "is your responsibility". But if funds are transferred from your wallet while hacked, they will reverse it and transfer the funds back, what a load of shit.
Yea VR has that virt-a-mate thing which seems to be quite popular with adult Quest 2 owners, but i mean there is Half Life Alyx, few other things.. nothing huge after those so far.
He's apparently focusing on AGI, Artificial General Intelligence, AKA trying to get AI to be sentient. Which according to Ray Kurzweil could happen by 2029.
The problem as well, is that people don't really want to use multiple services. Steam had a head start in 2004 with Half Life 2, this is what I would've said anyway, but apparently Steam came around in 2003, i guess Half Life 2 needing Steam installed sure gave them a big boost though, not to mention HL2 DM that released soon after. But since it had all that time to itself i guess everyone just wants to stay put, and it works well yes.
Before Steam we had to rely on...
Oh right MS owns the rights to Rare now, but Rare was originally a UK developer. That's why i mentioned the pathetic UK law.
MadLad i didn't go 4k until we had high refresh rate screens, which also had better pixel response times. I originally went 1080p 120hz in 2012, then 1440p high refresh with gsync in 2017 and last year i went with the 4k LG 27GP950. I didn't want to go backwards on refresh rate. I realise we had 4k monitors a while ago but they were all at 60hz.
The last 1-2 years maybe, unless you didn't care about having a high refresh rate.
Wonder why they do these things, like with Banjo but never make a new game. With Banjo there's no excuse really, we all know how pathetic the law is in the UK though and flakes get offended by anything today, wonder if that's why there's no new Conker.
A new Diddy Kong Racing would be nice too, nearly everyone just copies Mario Kart.. meh.
A new gen is way overdue, Nintendo will be in trouble if they skimp on specs again.
They'll probably rehash the same games again anyway from tired franchises. Leaving desired titles left behind, again.
