@flash74: Why 2000$? You can build a decent gaming rig with everything (monitor included) for less than 1000$ easily.

I'd go further and compare a gamer's rig to the PC & console combination many consoleros use. Instead of buying expensive console hardware, they should invest 200$ in a decent video card.

Everybody that prefers controllers for FPS has obviously never played FPS with keyboard and mouse. Controllers are only good for jump&runs, sports games and some combo-heavy 3rd person games.

@ Real_Gambler: Oh, it IS possible to build an expensive PC, that's certainly true. There are workstation graphics cards that cost more than 10 grand. But it's also possible to build a cheap gaming rig that will still blow every console to pieces. The prices you list are completely exaggerated. Such a rig is not necessary, only if you always want to play every game on max details in ridiculous resolutions. 150$ for a harddrive every six months, seriously? Is this your first gaming rig you bui...

A real chainsaw cannot be handled one-handed, but yeah, in a zombocalypse, such safety measures might become obsolete...now we only need a bolt pistol and some power armor.

Unfortunately, investing into marketing instead of production seems to work out for a lot of businesses.

Except that protecting the youth is not the job of a state government, but the job of the parents.

You might be a bit confused there. Taking something that has already been done before countless times and making it work better/at all/perfectly is NOT called innovation, however you try to turn it.

You should opt for an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition instead, triple channel ram and higher mainboard prices seriously hurt i7 920's price/performance ratio.

Let's see: it's been almost 5 years since the release of WoW, thus 5 * 12 * 15$ = 900$, so yes, I guess WoW-Fans ARE ready to spend a thousand dollars for the experience.

System Shock 2 is far better than HL 1 AND 2. Also, HL1 is still leagues better than 2. HL2 has its moments, but I don't agree with the rest of the world that it is a masterpiece.

@JamesCagney: The first and most popular example for this behaviour is Halo. I remember when Bungee presented it as free-roaming, open-world shooter, like GTA set in a science-fiction setting. It was supposed to be huge. Then they got bought by M$ and completely had to change it.

We'll see. The tension is high.

Reflecting outside heat radiation could certainly improve cooling by 0.0000001% or maybe even double this amount. Well worth the fingerprints on the surface, if you ask me.

It would not hurt their current line, but their company overall, because they have nothing yet.

This is the true Gothic3.

Yeah, there are only two needs XP can't satisfy:
- DirectX beyond 9
- more than 4GB RAM
If you aren't interested in those, XP will continue to work for you.

@kaveti6616: Your so-called "real" sugar also contains 50% fructose. There is glucose and fructose. Crystal sugar contains an almost even amount of both.

What's wrong with water, btw?

I have nothing against this per se, but what is it used for? Are there any gameplay elements that benefit from showing the ol' t&a? I doubt it. So why invest the devtime? Marketing reasons.
