There is no "logicality of a God". Maybe you meant creator. But an omnipotent God as described in the holy books is indeed a logical fallacy. A creator of earthly life, on the other hand, is a possibility.
Also, the popular statement you constantly hear from believers, that not-believing is just another belief, is wrong. Believing means you accept a conceptual system as truth, that has no manifestation in the real world. Not-believing simply means you don't do that, you only a...
Yeah, and what they don't realise is that their oh-so-big TV is actually not so big, if you factor in the distance you sit away from it. Modern PC flatscreens provide a bigger effective viewing field than even a 40" HDTV.
I really doubt that. Maybe if you compare sales of PC version to sales of both console versions combined. But still not 5 times better.
This comment chain is really disappointing. At least 60% of the posters have obviously not read the article. It makes me feel the need for a "Disagree on all comments" feature.
You can't just judge a completely new form of data security based on your experience with another form of data security. Quantum mechanics allow some pretty cool stuff, like the detection of eavesdropping (because any data access will change the data) or the creation of a secure communications channel t...
It is not cheaper to buy an office pc and a console compared to just a gamer pc (that can also be used for office work). Also, this gamer pc will play more games, the games are be cheaper, they are moddable, and they have a free LAN- and internet-multiplayer-mode. And last but not least there is a thriving indie gamer scene with thousands of free games which explore concepts that are not feasible in a market situation, because they fill a niche that does not interest the regular consumer (and...
The problem with this whole controvery is: It revolves around stills. Screenshots can never accurately capture the mood of a game. Sound has also a big influence on the mood, and animations do, as well.
And there are the points that are mentioned in the MTV interview. You can't play the game well, if you can't distinguish enemy types or enemies and other players. Also, a game with very dark and desaturated visuals is hard to play in bright surroundings (you have to increase the gamma a ...
Because the impact in the head increases the blood pressure so much, that all arteries and veins just burst ;)
You forgot Blizzard.
Why should the Barbarian be "broken" because of his leap ability? It's certainly an advantage, but what about the Sorceress' teleport? Or the Necromancer's bone wall? These are both abilities that provide an essential gameplay advantage, and they are class-exclusive. But they certainly don't "break" the respective classes.
Leap doesn't even give you an advantage in PVP, so I really can't follow you here...
And D3 will still incorporate Gothic style. Also, Gothic style is not defined by applying a 128,96,96 filter to everything. Even in a "Gothic" world, there can be a nice day.
Also, it's still a long way off, so there will probably be major changes to EVERYTHING.
I've only played three of them (Outcast, Vampire Bloodlines and Beyond Good and Evil), and they were all very good and unpopular. I wouldn't say underrated, they all got decent scores, but they didn't sell somehow. Kinda like Battlezone 1 and 2. These could be on the list, too.
I agree with this train of thought. I think devs can't spew out the same gameplay quality as in the 90s anymore, because they target the mass market. This means gameplay mechanics are simplified and development focus is shifted on shiny graphics.
Games like UFO, Dune 2, Deus Ex, etc., which have defined their genres, are rare today, indeed. But noone stops you from replaying these old classics (I still play them every two to three years, to check if they still work. Dune 2 still works, ...
As above poster said, the damage values should be equal (they probably don't even have seperate values for the two genders), but the women's animations are longer, meaning less damage in the same timespan.
@ JsonHenry: This is wrong. An untrained man is physically more capable, even if he is compared against an untrained woman with the same muscle weight. This is because females earlier start to burn fat.
However, this difference vanishes with increasing training levels. At an athletic level, the gender difference is nonexistant.
The sad thing is, that Vista sales will explode, while in reality, a lot of buyers will use the included downgrade to XP, especially in the business world. So take these Vista sale figures you'll see in a few months with a grain of salt.
The fact that more women are assassins has nothing to do with them being more nimble. It has to do with the fact, that most assassination targets are heterosexual males.
Hehe, you don't like isometric view, do you? But, actually, there is more reason to upgrade for a game showing isometric view (if it's 3d) than for an FPS game, because the higher camera shows more things, which needs a better system to compute.
Gamepads for PC have been around for decades, and they are fairly popular, because there are many people playing sports games, so I'm not really getting what you are talking about. PC software for the Wiimotes was out not two weeks after the Wii was released.
Mario Galaxy could easily be directly ported to PC. It would not only look better, but it could also be beefed up with more content, or be given an editor to create new levels, etc.
Yeah, you're right, it is a bit brighter and maybe also a bit more colorful than the previous iterations of the game, but it's nowhere near as "funky" as WoW. The dungeon was actually pretty dark and sinister.
@name: Agnosticism is actually the only stance that makes sense. It's really impossible to know if a creator exists. Of course, many religious claims are easily disproven, such as omnipotence, Noah's ark, or the biblical timescale. But the more metaphysical claims about the soul and life after death, etc. are not possible to disprove.
A whole lot of atheists are actually agnostics, but they have never heard the proper term. And those who know the term and still call themselves atheists ...
