too late.
Well they left MS and can't do anything with halo.
So they have gone multiplatform now.
It's not cheaper if you have to rebuild everything for the 360.
Everything has had to be made specially for the PS3 only because it didn't exist, it's never really been a case of it being harder to code for the PS3, it';s just a case that you have to make everything needed for your game.
It also doesn't cost millions or trillions as some people seem to think it would cost to make a game.
Sure a dev might have 100 people on the books but not all of them m...
Steve, This processor won't ever really become cheap.
This isn't a standard I7 CPU it's a new version much like the Xenon CPUs those are still over the 1000 mark, and blow away all the standard CPUs easy even the I7 ones.
This CPU can handle 12 hyper threads and is unlocked as well.
Seems it give the ATI 5890 some extra legs but the CPU still becomes a bottle neck if you can believe it.
PS3 and PSP is also classed as Multiplatform as well.
It was Square that said it will only display at 576p on 360.
They had to say that as far too many people were asking about why the 360 screen shots were photoshoped and the PS3 ones weren't.
Already been through this before during the 90's where the SNES and sega were going to kill off the PC gaming market.
Now say the console market sells 100million games a year the PC market sells around a 1 billion games a year.
The stuff getting talked about has all been said before and yeah the PC market will shrink due to people not wanting to play MMOs etc but those will go away and the core PC games will come back again.
It's all cycles.
Sony already have natal it's called PS Eye, been out for a number of years as well.
As for the video, shows all the reasons why people will get fed up with it.
You see the guy is stuffed after 2 mins of playing, and then a chick is saying see it's ok but if you have to shift all your stuff around to the edge of the room just so you can play a game with natal it's going to be a pain.
Just think of what it'd be like playing CoD via natal you'll be stuffed aft...
Just like how they push the console to you cheap and make money of the games and accessory. It is a well thought out strategy that any sane company would do.
***Shocking to some of you, I know!***
Err, you do know that Atari came up with that plan back in the 70's when they released the first console.
Yes, consoles aren't new and MS would be behind 100+ other companies to have release one.
Also I've been into gaming since 1985 so been arou...
If GT5 sells like GT4 then reach won't get a look in at all.
as GT4 sold 10 million on day 1 or 1st week.
I'd hazard to say your all wrong.
MS will sell it for free.
Only cavet is that you have to buy a new 360 pro to get it.
so it'd be around the $400 mark really.
MS has never ever been into giving stuff away for next to nothing.
This patcher guy is dreaming to think anything else, and what with their share price so low it's not funny anymore I couldn't see them wanting to lose any money on it.
The 360 Valve games are also recycled.
The PC games came out about 5 years before the 360 versions.
It's only the people who've only owned a 360 who think they are new, never came out before.
The hack overall is a waste of time as it only works on a real old firmware 2.45 that came out around a year ago.
And the Other OS feature has allowed open modding for a long time, there's the movie player software and demos/games etc have been made for this feature.
It's like coming out with a hack for the V1 ipod to let you put files on it with out using itunes, even though ever other version Ipod can do it.
anyway for the moment it's a rumor so it mi...
Blu-Ray has been re-secured.
The studios can just update firmware and change the keys that's what they did last year when the encryption keys got hacked.
I haven't looked up to see if it has been rehacked or what.
Also it didn't crack every disk just certain ones that used that system or key.
So not fully hacked.
Yet the PS3 is/was the only player Blu-Ray player that doesn't bother with any of the keys it just plays them all.
Pirated PS3 games arn't 15 to 20gig though they generall take up the whole disk.
For example to copy metal gear 4 that's a 25 gig file.
And it generally takes people around a week+ to download as the speed on bit torrent sites is pretty slow, the private trackers are generally a little slower as they rearly have the japs on them with their 100+Mbit links on a torrent.
and even they they'll only hang around for 2-3 days as they'll be over 200% in a day du...
PS3 version 1 Blu-ray disk
with all the stuff on it that's required for the full game.
360 version 3 to 5 DVDs
cut down parts and now some parts of the game have to be downloaded to play the game.
Going to really screw all those with no net access isn't it.
Pop a plastic panel.
Un do a screw.
Pull out hard drive.
push in new hard drive.
do up screw.
pop plastic panel back on.
And that's too hard?
You have the full range of 2.5 inch drives and SSD drives or your could go for the 3.5 2 terabyte drives if you don't mind the drive being out side the PS3.
Plenty of space for anything.
3D realms went bankrupt as take 2 took their cash out of the company.
Though Take 2 own the rights to Duke forever I think and might be making it with another company.
I think gorge is trying to keep 3D realms alive but with what or how I don't know.
He of cause still whinges about people seeing stuff about it.
overall I think this game is pretty much finshed up unless take 2 are making it.
If that was 3D realms version of the g...
It's a PC only game, so I wouldn't worry about consoles getting it if it came out or what ever is happening.
Remember your talking about MS here.
They buy companies soulfully just to close them a year or so later, so they have no competition in the market against them.
Look at what MS is now doing with bing they have paid Nokia so that you can only use bing to do web searches on new model Nokia mobiles from this year on.
