"whinny little girls own a publishing company and game developing studio and give away money to complaining gamers that want free games. Create the games with the latest technology and charge $40 for it. I am sure you'll be successful. Morons
You should read half the stuff you nerds type. Imagine paying salaries for 3 years with no product to show for it. Even when it's done you have to pay for marketing and packaging before a copy is sold. Let's see how long your company st...
Games these days aren't that complex anymore, it's all too piss easy to play win what ever.
I still have my collectors Falcon 4.0 manual that manual is 380+ pages held with-in a binder.
These days games hold your hand for just about everything.
The one problem about this is, if you have no manual then how do you shows any sort of stats on items in a game or what it's meant to be used for etc.
I don't like DD products.
I can't stand buying a retail box, only to find the bloody software is a steam DD install why bother releasing a retail product as far as I'm concerned.
The only reason why it's around is so that Valve can say they are publishers and skim cash off the top and then Devs charge customers full price or more if you have the do money exchanges for a product which has no real life media.
Really these DD should be $20 pushing not the s...
Back in the 19090's FPS games were shareware and you mainly played them on a lan as the internet while existed wasn't too crash hot to use with your 9600 or 144000 baud dial up modem.
by 1993 to 1995 FPS games were starting to also offer net multiplayer gaming, this was FPS client with decated game server.
Xbox Live is pretty poor not only does it waste so much time with such usless crap that it also causes problems with the actual games you play on PC.
...
Your all looking at it wrong.
If you rent something then it allows you to try out the game legally and then buy it if you like it.
Borrowing is much the same deal as generally a friend only gives you the game because they want someone to play with and do stuff in game and so they let you borrow it and you install it try it out if you like then give back the game and buy a copy etc.
Game devs aren't too fussed about renting or borrowing I think anyway, as...
I found out about that.
The single SPU isn't broken, it's shut off on purpose as it encrypts and handles all the keys for the PS3 system.
So it asks to be locked away straight up and nothing can actually touch it so it makes it extremely hard to bring in rouge programs that could hack or alter the system software in a bad way.
I'm not pissed, I'm more pissed about what geohot is doing as he alone has taken that feature away.
If he hadn't of came out with it then it'd still be there and you wouldn't need to worry about it.
Also his CFW seem to screw the PS3 if you apply it to a non-hacked 3.21 Gen 1/2 PS3.
SO you need to apply the hack I really don't think it'll work out if you hack the PS3 really.
Time would purely depend on how good these guys are at coding might take a couple months at most.
John Carmack only takes a few weeks to make the ID engines, and spends 2-3 hours a day making slight changes to the engine after that.
These days the GPUs and DirectX will have streamlined everything down so that your just hitting the GPU and DirectX.
It's platforms like PS3 that need everything made from scratch which might take a long time depending and wh...
Don't know how people could say crysis story is crap?
You have a top secret US special forces team going in to sus out a meteorite crash site, which happens to be in north korea, the same country, that has nukes and tested a missile last year that can hit anywhere with-in Alaska and western parts of canada and most of asia.
The meteorite ends up being an alien space craft.
In 1919 a meteorite or something wiped out a large part of a forest in Serbia in R...
Well it was but this Geohot d**khead screwed it for everyone who owns a PS3.
And the firmware he release f**ks your PS3, if you apply it.
Some PS3 games do have PS2 BC as a game feature.
Not really it's the actual fact that 2010 marks the death of DVD.
The move companies aren't interested in making DVD releases anymore, with in 2-3 years blu-ray will be the only format you can buy movies on.
It'll sell millions easy, but only to the current user base it's not going to add it.
The real question isn't what it sells as that means nothing but if someone actually uses it.
If it sold millions and no one uses it then making games for it is pointless from the get go, it's also funny about 70% 3rd parties making games for natal as MS only has 3rd parties to rely on, so if there's no return they won't make anything for it.
You have to think about nata...
This is all wrong anyway.
The Cell has 2 CPUs and 8 SPUs/SPEs
The first Cell CPUS dropped the 8th SPu/SPE due to making them the process wasn't up to spec yet, that's what NVidia are currently doing with the ferni chips.
anyway 1 CPU is only used for the xbar and the other is for running games etc.
The SPus/SPEs aren't used for any xbar or games or otherOS as the CPu tell them what to do on the side so you couldn't shut them down anyway.
720p at 60fps is the min?
lol
GFX cards have been able to do 3D images for years now, you simply have it do interlace images and your only doing 1 frame at what ever the FPS will be, probably be faster as the GFX cards these days actually buffer frames before they display that frame so they are ahead of whats going on the screen.
Been like that since late 90's.
Also you only need 25fps per eye faster than that would simply make it look cris...
Don't worry they'd be covering their tracks before hand.
I've seen it running on the PS3 and I didn't think it looked too great.
I think Uncharted 2 blows it away in terms of GFX, it's a notch above most games but I wouldn't say it's a Crysis beater etc in GFX.
I'll probably end up getting it at some point in the future but not in any sort of rush.
From 2010 the content providers are fazing out DVD as a format for movies etc and swapping to bluray.
LoL, and sadly pretty much the truth.
Notice how it's all Xbox devs saying they don't need manuals anymore.
I guess no one won't be interested in the keybind cards etc for games either.
