i agree about the meta quest pro making psvr2 look like a bargain but not the quest 2. The real cost of the PSVR 2 is around $1100 as you actually need a ps5 to use it. The Quest headsets are completely standalone. I own a Quest 2 and now a PSVR2. The PSVR2 is SUBSTANTIALLY better than the Quest 2 but a big part of that is that its driven by the power of the PS5 vs the Quest 2 essentially having the power of a mobile device.
i've had mine for almost 2 weeks now. its pretty great and had has exceeded my expectations. Its not as sharp as the HTC Vive Pro 2 but waaaay better than a Quest 2 and pretty on par with the Steam Index in terms of image quality etc. Its leaps and bounds better than the original psvr in pretty much every aspect. Screen door effect has been reduced down to basically a subtle grain in the image that you forget about pretty quickly. Image quality is sharp and theres no ghosting in the 3D re...
congrats to ps5. getting that chip shortage worked out
pretty cool. i've been playing gt7 for the last week w/ psvr2 and the logitech g29 setup on a weighted wheel stand. works pretty well and is a good experience.
I’ll say this as a psvr2 owner. It’s awesome, but you should wait. Not a ton of games yet and only a few high end titles that really push the hardware to see the actual capability. Most games currently are more comparable to or the same as the Quest 2. They might be cute or fun, but they’re not worth rushing out to spend almost $600 for.
Here is my honest take having just bought a psvr2 and living with it for a little bit now and all but abandoning my Quest 2. Just my own truth and my own objective option as someone who just shelled out over $650 to get the latest and arguably best vr experience in my hands.
I regrettably agree with the article. Don’t get me wrong, VR and even specifically in my case PSVR2 Is awesome… but I’m not suddenly wishing MS would now release a headset for my Series X or thinking th...
Against my own logic and rhetoric about not having faith in vr as a platform or Sony to properly support the psvr2 hardware, I talked myself into buying one anyway - rather myself and my sister who also got one.
I will say that the headset has mostly exceeded my expectations and is of a very high quality - especially for the price (which is high but not as high as other headsets and it still punches at their weight). GT7 is absolutely phenomenal on psvr2. HZD Call of the Mo...
Maybe… but the switch hardware is garbage compared to the steam deck. Nintendo should really consider much stronger hardware for a deal like this.
ive been playing this the last few days. while i think its good, i don't think it deserves a 9. Maybe an 8. Its actually kind of repetitive. lots of climbing... like... always climbing. at first it feels cool cuz you have to use the sense controllers to physically grab on to rocks or ropes or whatever and pull yourself along as you would in real life. after doing this constantly though it starts to feel more like a job than a game.
It is really cool how you access your...
sure. but while Call of the Mountain is good, its not as good as Forbidden West. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the article, but I don't think Call of the Mountain is the game to stand on as an example. Its not as strong as Forbidden West and while engaging and fun, also feels like its primary task is to show off what PSVR2 can do technically, then be a game second (theres A LOT of climbing and activities etc where you have to use the sense controllers, to the point where it rea...
well its a pretty darn good game.
promotional support is just fancy talk for: "Sony paid us to keep it off other platforms".
This is just more of Sony's hypocritical MO.
sorry but this is why sony is full of shit on the ms acquisition. they claim they worry about gamers having access to games while simultaneously artificially buying up exclusivity deals to block content on other platforms. The FTC court order to see their 3rd party deals will only put this in the spotlight. Most publishers would rather games have as much access to as many potential buyers as possible which is why they release on multiple platforms in the first place. the only reasons they wou...
ok ok ok. so i've been leaving a lot of comments about how i think psvr2 looks really awesome but that i'm not sold on it as i don't have a ton of faith in vr as a whole and the fact that while there are a couple launch games to truly get excited about, the bulk of them feel like standard mediocre vr filler games that don't really convince me to spend the hefty price for the headset. One of the games that did NOT fall into this category tho was GT7. I love GT7 and have been tr...
not a good look, all things considered - especially after the racist cartoon drama on top of it. for those saying "i'm not gonna bring politics into my gaming" well... the gaming just brought politics to you in a not very subtle metaphor.
But the switch isn’t going to be around for another 10 years…. A new device will come sooner than later from Nintendo
Nice
lol this review reads like a middle school book report.
again... i'm sure its awesome. i own a ps5 and gt7. I want really badly to play gt7 in vr.... but i'm as of right now not planning on buying psvr2. Out of all the games announced for psvr2, literally only 2 games have captured my interest. everything else is either just more small scale vr games, filler games, corny kind of indie type games. If i'm going to spend nearly $600 on a peripheral, a peripheral that costs more than the unit it runs on, then i expect to have a game librar...
i agree completely with the article and have now played both personally in PSVR2, but.... how many times are we going to keep posting articles about how amazing these games are in vr? i mean honestly this is like the 10th one and they all read exactly the same.
