Congrats Nintendo. I’m surprisingly happy with my switch 2. I mean I knew I would like it, I just didn’t realize how much I would like it, and how capable it actually is for such a lil feller.
That being said, I still don’t see switch 2 as a “console”. It’s a handheld that docks to a screen. It has more in common with a steam deck or ROG Ally (which can also dock to tvs)
It’s not a requirement to buy games every month or whenever one is released. I don’t think people are going to spend $70+ on something they don’t care about.
Lmao for all the hate PlayStation users give Xbox games, they sure seem to sell well on PlayStation.
I remember when it launched “it’s blowing away call of duty” said gamers with disdain for the old fps staple.
And I said “give it time and let’s see”.
We’ve now had time.
Not establishing an opinion here, just a realist that knows a good launch doesn’t necessarily equal success and longevity. Love or hate call of duty (pretty burned out on it personally) but it’s a staple now - like butter on toast or cheese on pizza. It’s the “coca col...
I have it on series d but I’ll pull the trigger for the ps5 version when the ve update comes out. My psvr 2 might actually get some use now.
Drive club was a gorgeous game no doubt. It often felt like a movie. But as a real life car enthusiast and race fan, the game was severely lacking depth - especially compared to other arcade racers at the time, and I personally thought was one of the worst physics models out there (worse than The Crew, arcade racer or not)
If thy brought I back I’d really hope thy focus a lot more on tuning, proper race rules setups for online competition etc.
Good cuz it feels a bit steep cuz you’re already paying the often seen +$10 switch 2 tax on an already full price game, that is sometimes cheaper on ps5/xbox and runs better on those consoles.
I’m not hating on switch 2 btw. I love it and use it almost every day, but it’s not a cheap machine to operate.
this game will be dead in 6 months. just like that game Blur. Racing game fans either want super realistic (Forza motorsport/Gran Truismo), something reasltic but easier to play (Forza Horizon, NFS/The Crew) or something so removed from reality its not comparable (Mario kart, sonic racing, wipeOut). Anything else just wears thin after a while and tends to usually feel gimmicky or wears off quickly imo.
Finally a psvr2 title I can legitimately look forward to.
nailed it! 100.
im admittedly not a death stranding fan, but this is so lame. and as someone who has worked at studios on major games, its a super huge bummer on the morale of the teams. they put so much sweat and hours into this stuff, only for a bunch of entitled pricks to ruin it.
DLSS 5 looks good, but also looks like the AI slop that dominates social media these days.
The best ps5 shooter that’s also on switch 2, Xbox and pc?
Stable af
Coo, l but bummer in practice that it only works on switch 1 games and your touch screen gets deactivated.
Figured it out. It’s just not clear wording. It means it works on switch 2 but only for switch 1 games. Switch 2 games won’t support this feature. Bummer.
So in the options on the switch 2, it implies that this option only works for the original switch, not the switch 2. It literally says on the notes for the setting “some Nintendo switch software will be unaffected and this option has no effect on software for switch2”. Literally looking at it right now. So unless I’m misunderstanding the notes, I think the headline of this story is misleading?
Also be aware that it mentions the touchscreen may become inactive and that it w...
Think of how much money the effort that work could have generated by working a real developer job.
Just buy the fucking game and pay for the work other ppl did and spent money on to bring it to you.
This kind of bullshit only drives up the cost of games more and saddles them with more and more performance sucking protection software.
good. AI is a cop-out imo. feels cheap and opportunistic... especially if you have the money to hire real people.
its a start of something cool for sure but native is 20 fps.... so realistically probably a next gen thing to see full viability. it mentions a software trick to get it to 30 fps but its not native, which I will assume introduces temporal artifacting as thats usually a symptom of artificial frame changes (Im a post prodction professional who uses many ai based tools for similar things and its good but not perfect). and to be perfectly honest, for a racing game specifically, id rather have no ...
