Sorry im a bit confused. 27% of the game sales were digital... that doesn't seem like a lot and to me that is proof physical isn't going away soon.
Sony hurt itself majorly with an expensive console. Microsoft took advantage of it.
But now, somehow the opposite is going to happen for Microsoft (but still with crap for games).

I haven't got it yet because I don't buy games until they hit the bargain bin usually, no matter how great.
Microsoft was getting smoked on all levels. They did multiple price drops. They extended price drops beyond and crap tons of offers.
Sony is in complete control, so you'd have to couple in some other factors before you start throwing out desperation claims.
If you can't see the difference, well I don't know what to tell you.

Spencer has been in charge of Microsoft Studios since 2008. Games have been terrible under him and now all they appear to be focused on his BC and terrible games pass.
I don't think anyone minds release dates/delays or seeing things years away.

Ghost im pretty sure stores cant sell for more than suggested price (in this specific scenario). Gamestop certainly would do it. Instead they force you to buy mega bundles.

To everyone questioning this logic, Sony has released many exclusives in the fall. They don't wait until the spring. They release when it is ready. Driveclub, Last Guardian, KoF 14, UC Collection, Until Dawn are all major titles released August or later. Many other smaller titles too.

I can confirm you may have unexpected results. It redownload about half a dozen game updates. It reset all those "Discover" messages for me. Nothing time consuming though really.
I'm sorry, but this narrative that Sony didn't bring anything new is such bull. Sure, they didn't have a new "AAA" game, but they had way more new stuff than Microsoft or Nintendo.
Also keep in mind, Sony has to save half their accouncements for Playstation Experience, which they also confirmed yesterday will be coming in December.
