I'd take that a step further. they need ip other than halo and gears (as in, give those a rest for a few years). That combined with a shift away from GaaS, at least for a couple titles.

No reason to after Mario and Zelda. As a wii u owner with no interest in Mario and being able to grab Zelda without a switch, I don't have a reason to pick one up. And don't really see anything on the horizon either.

God of war may not sell as much as COD, but when people see it, Detroit, spiderman etc, all highly anticipated and getting lots of love post release... Simply putting out a multiplayer title that you make an extra profit...

This is one of the things I love about Nintendo. I'm starting to hate the line that "delays are a good thing". I still say no. not because I want them to release an unfinished or unpolished product, but because I want them to announce a release date when they're sure they can make it. Nintendo does this, I wish others would follow.
