I dunno. I'd wager PC gamers might also own a console, but I don't think as many console gamers own PCs. And I'm sure the vast majority of PC gamers, given the choice, would buy a game on PC rather than console anyway. Better graphics, mods, etc.
I'm sure they did the math and figured they aren't losing enough cash to outweigh the good will built up with PC gamers by giving them a way to play just about every X1 title without having to buy the machine.

If you buy the digital copy of the X1 version, don't you get the superior PC version as well, combined with Alan wake, which will most likely be backwards compatible with X1 as another possible perk?
X1 digital version seems like the best bet to me.

@Pope

I did actually just buy a gaming PC. Got it just a couple weeks ago in fact. So cming from someone with my perspective (owning PS4, X1, PC, and Wii U) I can say that issue is that there are very few true X1 exclusives. If you already own a PC, not much reason to get an X1. You can grab a Wii U and get all the Mario's and Xenoblades and Bayonettas out there, or you can grab a PS4 and snag the Bloodbornes, Uncharteds and Infamous's out there but on X1 the pick...

Yes, but right now there are games that require Kinect and require move, or require an online connection, or require multiplayer. Same thing, if you want to play any of those, you have to buy an accessory.

Well since they're aiming to sell just over a million, at 10-15% of the 30+ million PS4's out there (probably 40+ by the time PSVR releases) they'll blow their estimations out of the water.

Eh, graphics are at the bottom of that list for me. Story on top, then gameplay.

They're just different experiences for me.
You've got three of them with a budding forth.
Single player which for me is king of the hill for me. I play games for story and to get lost in the world. And with the games I play and am interested in, single player fits that bill.
co-op is more for fun. games like Mario, tower fall, etc. I don't care that much about story, I just want to sit my wife/buddy/cousin/kids and have fun. no need for a story. esp...

This. that blew my mind the first time I saw it.

Not only that, Shenmue was also the game that brought QTE's to the forefront. Though back then, we called them "interactive cut scenes". It was new and fresh until it got over done to all heck.

I'm going to buy this and probably the biggest reason is that E3 reveal.

I remember it being advertised a couple times back in the day, can't say I ever watched it.

Good God Yes!

Wish everybody had your attitude. Your console doesn't have to be the best selling for you to enjoy it.

You're technically right about the X1 selling more than the 360, but your reasoning for stating so is flawed. the longer a time frame you look at for console sales, the lower the average per month becomes. When you sell a million on launch day and just a couple hundred thousand on a regular spring or summer month. it can throw things off.
But all in all, yes the X1 is still doing better than the 360 was.

casuals!

consoles are similar and games are similar for Sony and MS. That's why I suggest that anyone that owns one of them and is looking to buy the other, grab a Wii U instead.

Eh, I don't think they care as much about how many units sold as they do how much money they put in the bank. so if the difference in profit with that MS cash put ROTR ahead of TR2013... they're probably happy.
That said, I doubt ROTR made more.

Huh, I'm the opposite. I got a gaming PC and I can honestly say I enjoy my consoles more. Now my PC is still new (had it less than a month) so maybe it'll grow on me. But I'll take a DS4 over mouse and keyboard anyday. And I can foresee not caring much for having to check the system requirements on new games down the line to make sure I can just download and play. And being a SP gamer, paying for online doesn't mean much to me at all.
But different strokes I guess...
