Timesplitters was the shiiit. Brought me back to the days of Quake 3 Arena, just fun times.
To be fair, when he said they were very similar, it seemed that he was talking about the main CPU\GPU hardware parts they were using. I don't believe he was talking about the power of them each, or the resulting quality of graphics and robust gaming worlds they'd each be able to produce.
He also might not have known that Xbone wasn't gonna allow for hUMA in it's hardware setup. That's a huge blow to Microsoft, that is only gonna show more and more as PS4 d...
There should have been a code to have the trainer change from Doc to Cus.
Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, I really hope they've invested in some proper security on that little box. Otherwise they'll have a lot of pissed off indie devs out there.
It wasn't a particularly good ad, but it wasn't the worst ad ever either.
@ziggurcat,
If I'm correct, I believe Sony already stated that all games will have playable demos on PS4 also. So, that is not really an advantage that Ouya will have for long.
Ouya needs to focus on getting great games and advertising them accordingly. They shouldn't be working so hard to try and be a part of the console wars, they won't win. They...
I'm pretty sure from the vids I saw of this game, Kinect 1 and PS3 Eye could handle it. It's not doing any type of 1:1 in the game. Not that Kinect 2 can't do 1:1 motion sensing, but this game sure as hell ain't using it.
The sad part is, it's only gonna get worse for Xbone. Sony is already working with Rackspace to make them Openstack compute clouds. So, they'll also soon have the same type of flexible cloud servers too. So, Microsoft won't be able to make up for much with that. The hUMA is more important anyways though, it allows for so much more flexibility it's ridiculous. I can't believe Microsoft passed up on that.
Seems like a stupid move in this new F2P and B2P MMO environment. The game has looked "alright" at best so far IMO. Everybody wants that WOW money I guess, not realizing those super lucrative days of P2P are long behind us now. It's gonna be near impossible to come out with a new P2P game that survives as such, let alone banks the type of profit of WOW.
Sony has Gaikai, and is working with Rackspace to create Openstack cloud servers.
"OpenStack is a global collaboration of developers and cloud computing technologists producing the ubiquitous open source cloud computing platform for public and private clouds. The project aims to deliver solutions for all types of clouds by being simple to implement, massively scalable, and feature rich."
So, PS4 will have it's cloud computing and possibly scalab...
Well, you aren't getting any more known benefits from publishing on Xbone. So, PS4 being easier to publish on is better in this case.
Shadow of the Beast isn't a new intellectual property. It is a remake, or retake on the old Amiga game.
I remember Shadow of the Beast, I played a few times on my friends Amiga back in the day. Pretty cool and unexpected game announcement.
AMD is gonna get alot more attention in the PC market now, with multiplat games being created mainly for AMD hardware. Nvidia is a little bit jealous of AMD right about now.
Some of the free-to-play games are already gonna have some mod-tools. Warframe recently added the Dojo, where u build your clan housing with the creation tools. It's their first step in giving advanced mod-tools to the Warframe community. By the time the game releases on PS4 they may already have the full level creation tools for players ready.
Planetside 2 is gonna allow people to create items and if SOE decides they want to sell it, you get 40% of the profits off the it...
I was just looking at their Kickstarter earlier today and thinking the same thing. They got most that $200,000 in the first few days. If they could have kept the pace they had for those initial hours, they'd have been funded already. Maybe they aren't spreading the news effectively enough. They also need to start listing the exact stretch goal amounts.
Thank you, that came out of nowhere.
Sup PSVita, we both hit the comment lotto.
~ Congrats to everyone.
Hopefully Source 2 keeps up with other Next Gen engines on the visuals.
It does pull info off the BluRay and put it on HDD for faster loading. There will also be zlib decompression hardware. So games are expected to be fully zlib compressed on PSN & on BluRay to save space and reduce download time, and to jam more data into 50GB - then the data gets decompressed on-the-fly off the BluRay disc.
So, it's moving >27mb/s off the disc when that 27mb is probably holding 50-150mb of uncompressed data. So the BluRay's slow 6x is made up f...
I rather they just come up with better lighting algorithms that are less CPU-GPU intensive and have higher performance, like they are doing now with things like Practical Cluster Shading.
The cloud stuff is nice and all, but if they totally rely on it and make weaker GPUs that require it, it'll be annoying when you have connection issues. We aren't in a perfect always-online world yet. ISPs do go down, and there are issues with modems and routers.
It&...
Why even post this? Behind closed doors my ass.
