1. E3 is not a contest. It's a trade show.

2. The only thing Sony "needs" to do for E3 is to have the PSN fully restored by the time it rolls around, or they'll look too obviously incompetent.

@baker_boi: That's just Asia region PSN, and STILL just the in-game PSN features. It does not include ANYTHING for Japan, or the store for any region.

Three weeks ago I commented something like....

"If Sony thinks it'll take 'em 2 weeks to restore the PSN, they should tell everyone it'll be up in 6 weeks. That way, when they miss their 2 week internal deadline, they can take twice as much time to fix everything and and when it is fixed 4 weeks later, the public will love them for 'beating' their six-week public estimate."

Oh, the things I was called.

If Sony ha...

True. But contrary to what the article would have us believe, the PSN mess is far from "wrapped up." Japan, you know, that country where Sony is based, still has zero PSN functionality, and the rest of the world only has partial functionality--with absolutely NO IDEA when full functionality will resume.

The "free games" and free month of "PSN Plus" (Also known as Sony's painfully unsubtle marketing grab) won't enter the picture until PSN ...

Finding all those cars is harder....

Seriously.

This one reason it's so hard for developers to even attempt branching storylines, or even multiple endings--there are too many idiotic gamers out there who can only accept the PERFECT outcome, and see everything else as "losing."

I won't hold my breath.

This is the same company that routinely insulted customers for criticizing their plans for DA2 both prior to and after release. They've made it perfectly clear the only thing they give a rat's ass about is their bottom line.

You must be a 360 fanboy.

I say this because the (obvious) truth is that PS3 fanboys, PC fanboys, 360 fanboys... they're all the same and all have the same arguments.

____ has better online!
____'s games have better graphics!
____'s games have better performance!

They're insubstantial.

Real gamers only care about one thing: how a game plays. Platform doesn't matter. Technical prowess doesn&...

Television will never be supplanted. Gaming is active entertainment, TV is passive entertainment. There's not really any competition to be had.

Though most of us are too young to remember, myself included, people said the same crap about TV destroying the movie industry, and about BOTH the TV and movie industry killing the publishing industry.

Hell, even today the publishing industry as it was has been "destroyed" by the Internet--only to reinv...

Not too fond of the real-world modern day setting. If they set it 20 years in the future, that'd be one thing, but I have a very hard time seeing AH managing to do any of the cool stuff previous AC games did.

Massive land invasions?
Fleet battles?
Death stars?

I don't see it.

And I'm also tired of preveiw'ers calling it "accessible", implying that the older AC games were somehow dense, and inaccessibl...

@Jommy: yes, that does make a good game bad. Playability, the ability to actually play a game, takes precedence over EVERY OTHER FACTOR.

But, by all means, pretend that there are no problems with Wicther 2 and that myself, and the thousands of other people having trouble with the game are either A) making it up, or B) completely inept "at computers."

You can either accept the game is flawed, or lash out at the people having trouble with it. One resp...

You aren't everyone, genius.

Game has had a ton of bugs. Visit any Witcher2 BBS, or even the official site: a good third of CD Projekts customers have run into game-breaking bugs, if they're even able to start the game at all. That's why they're rushing out patches (1.1 came out recently; 1.2 next week).

It's a huge problem. It doesn't effect you, personally: congratulations. But don't pretend it doesn't exist.

Another crap review.

Game is waaaay too buggy for these scores. I've spent the past 8 hours just trying to INSTALL and ACTIVATE the damned thing. DRM is completely broken.

Legacy of Kain (PS1)
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1)
Soul Reaver 2 (PS2)
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen (PS2)
Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Kain is a nobleman turned vampire who gets pissed off, kills everyone, and founds a Vampire empire. Raziel is a subordinate vampire who grows wings, which pisses Kain off (because Kain doesn't have wings), so Kain "kills" Raziel.

Raziel becomes a soul-reaver. An undead monster that c...

PS3 is the only platform considered?

Too bad. Kain would have taken the top spot easily if the article were more accurate to its title. Great character arc. He goes from hero to villain to wanting to end the world to ACTUALLY ending the world to building an evil empire lasting thousands of years to do a whole Frank Herbert thing with Raziel and trying to save the world.

Best gaming protagonist of all time.

I agree.

BUT you have to realize that a game like L.A. Noir has the mechanics and game world and setting perfect for multiplayer. Come on: Cops versus Robbers. Tell me you wouldn't love that.

Have two teams, and I dunno... 4 to 10 different places to rob (banks, museums, etc.) and force each team to coordinate to either make the robbery or prevent it. If implemented well, it could be amazing.
