It has a very weak software library. If you look at the games already out, there are only a handful of good games, but no great, must-own titles. If you look at the NDS games expected to release before the end of the year (that actually have release dates) there isn't much to look at, either.
The 3DS is basically selling on the strength of the Nintendo name alone. Very similar to the PS3 in the first year of its lifespan. Whether or not the 3DS will see the same strong th...
It's the U.K.--who cares? If ya' can't wait for a game that's delayed, import the NA version.
Gotta love it when things are region-free. (Goddamn 3DS)
I'm actually considering getting this. My current monitor is 22". With I could hook both my PC and PS3 up to this, right? That could be really cool.
Who the hell cares?
What we want to see in Persona 5 is simple--a game called Persona 5. They can do whatever the hell they want, for whatever the hell platform they want, just give us something.
Though I'd be remiss if I didn't say that my ideal platform for Persona 5 would be the PS3: and a 3DS adaptation of Persona 4 would be most welcome. I'd like to keep the main Persona titles off handhelds, since Dragon Quest has already abandoned consoles ...
The demo was fantastic. I do think, however, that art style may get tiresome after too long--as flashy as it is, it's also very simplistic. It would be nice if the full game also included a few more... realistic environments--juxtaposition is important, after all.
Same here. The first game had a lot of great ideas, but the execution left a LOT to be desired. I have a feeling the sequel will be much the same--meaning it'll be selling for $20 in three months time.
Will there be levels? I hated grinding for that sphere-grid thing, never really got the feeling that my characters were getting any stronger.
EDIT: mini-games? Chocobo racing, please!
I found Witcher 2 to be pretty underwhelming. It had a convoluted plot with a number of really... stupid facets, it was short as hell, and had very little content--just as few areas, monsters, armor and weapons as Dragon Age II.
Compared to Witcher 1, it's a pretty big step backward.
Not that any other PC gamer will admit to that: we really have become the most insufferable group of fanboys, huh?
It really speaks for how awful the "fighting genre" is when little things like have a story mode are considered superfluous.
The story mode alone is the one thing that easily places Blazblue far above nearly every other fighting game released in the past decade.
I bought the Terran game: I won't be buying any more Starcraft titles. Ever again.
And if Diablo III turns out the same way, I think it'll be time to retire what little confidence I have left in Blizzard.
E3 isn't a contest. You can't "win"--you can only lose. And you can only lose E3 by doing something really, really stupid.
Like gushing about who "won" when it's clear that EVERYONE lost due to the pitifully small number of new game announcements, and the complete lack of ANY new games (all are sequels, ports or remakes).
I hope by "early" they mean "tutorial."
The demo puzzles, while looking really badass (OMFG! That giant thing!) are really, really easy.
Sony and Nintendo haven't been in competition for a while. The WiiU isn't in competition with the PS3, the 3DS isn't going to be in competition with the Vita--just like how the DS isn't really in competition with the PSP. Their handhelds are too complementary.
The only reason the whole console-war-competition thing between Sony and Microsoft became such a big deal was because both hardware devices served the same function (media player) and share virtually ALL...
IIRC, they only said that GAMES would be on a new proprietary format. I don't recall anything about memory cards.
No, actually, I do recall them saying something about memory cards: that they wouldn't be necessary because games save to their new carts, and that each PSV would have an 8GB card for music and crap.
And Ace Combat Assault Horizon is getting Macross DLC.
And we're expecting the Macross Trial Frontier game to get a PS3 release/announcement sometime before the end of the year (when the second Frontier movie gets its BD release).
All around, it's a good time for mecha fans.
...
...Unless we look at the anime. >_<
(Though there is that rumor about a new Full Metal Panic starting up this Fall)
It would likely mean we'd be able to play the... 4 PS2 HD ports on a Vita, leaving us unable to touch the vast majority of PS2 titles.
Unless CFW becomes a thing. Again.
Meh. Ace Combat might be good, but a handheld really can't have the necessary level of detail and draw distance for a good flight game. And since the 3DS has only one analog stick....
Only handheld that might do AC justice would be Vita, and even then, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Where are the Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and SMT announcments?
Don't be an ass. Just because people want a FFVII remake doesn't mean it's their favorite, and even it it is, it doesn't mean it was their first.
Personally, I like VII most out of the series, and I started with X, moving on to V, VI, VII, VIII and IX in that order.
It does not need to be big budget.
They should remake FFVII for the 3DS and PSN: simply replace the 3dmodels with high-resolution 2D sprites (like Disgaea 4) or HD 3d models, and redo the backgrounds. No need to do voice work or any jazz like that.
Then simply release VII-2 in the same style.
Invest the minimal amount to reap the maximum profits: that way everyone is happy.
Besides, does anyone who isn't a 13-year old gir...
One mario = every mario.
When it comes out, I'll probably buy it (and a 3DS) for my sister. She loves mario, and she'd love the whole 3D thing.
