Really?
Did you play the first game?
After the first game, I found Witcher 2 incredibly disappointing in nearly every respect.
Well, as a fan of the first game, I was disappointed with the last.
Basically... the narrative ruined it for me.
SPOILERS
The game is advertised as being about getting more powerful, and powering up, and being awesome. Sounds good, right?
If the game actually WAS like that, it'd be awesome.
But it's not.
Cole magically loses all of his powers, and the entire plot revolves around a deu...
Well then... why don't they FIX the Wii's software problems instead of abandoning the console and shifting focus? It's not like it's an incurable illness: if the problem is that the Wii has too few good games, MAKE MORE GOOD GAMES.
Simple, right?
Or, alternatively, try localizing games that appeal to core gamers instead of giving the entire North American community a giant middle finger.
I wouldn't be surprised.
Nintendo has shown time and time again that they have no ****ing idea how to handle online services. They're more than a decade behind the competition.
I kind of doubt it will be InFamous 2. Most of Amazon's deals tend to be... pretty bad. Well, outside of Warehouse deals. I imagine it'll be something like Metal Gear Solid, or Heavenly Sword, or some other game whose retail price is about quadruple the resale value.
And even if it is, I wouldn't recommend buying it yet. Not for $30. If you look beyond the hype, it's just another version of the first game with a few things improved and a few more flaws introdu...
If this is true:
Nintendo has been able to generate a MASSIVE amount of media and public attention for its upcoming games, placing the Wii back in the spotlight after an underwhelming few months, and more than a year of playing backseat to the PS3 (and 360, to a lesser extent) with regard to core gamers.
If this is false:
Operation Rainfall has attempted to revitalize a slowly dwindling movement, hoping additional attention and press will pla...
Some points:
1. It has always been "l33t" or "1337."
2. "l33t" is a bastardization of the word "elite." It's Internet slang.
3. It's very OLD Internet slang. I don't think I've seen anyone actually using l33t 5p34k in at least 4 or 5 years.
Bollywood?
So, like, an Indian science-fiction musical?
I WANT THIS SO BAD!
I don't think so.
Uncharted and Gears of War were recognized primarily for distinctive, top-notch art-design and well-crafted gameplay. Crysis, while certainly talked about a lot, was not recieved well by critics IIRC.
Even games like Call of Duty, I think, sell more because of the established franchise and fanbase than because of their "gritty realism."
Mechanical prowess became meaningless years ago. The game industry is no longer defined by how realistic or detailed developers can make games. How long will it take people to wrap their minds around this?
Gotta love XSeed.
Still haven't gotten around to playing some of those Ys games. they really ought to consider bringing over the PC ones.
Yet, bizarrely, 100% of "hardcore" gamers are exactly 13 years old. And male. And ostracized at school.
Not if the Internet gives them a series of stern lectures.
It's kind of silly to complain about not seeing tutorial BS in a direct sequel. Particularly if the combat system is the same.
The only valid complaints about WKC I've heard seem to be that it recycles a lot of areas from the first game.
Mostly true. Though I do believe that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all exert a great deal of influence over certain titles. There's no way that every single publisher for PS1 Classics, for example, chose the same price for each of their games.
Similarly, notice how w/ Nintendo every single NES game costs X, every SNES game X+2, N64 X+4? That didn't happen by accident.
Compared to Nintendo, at least, the PSN has very competitive prices. The thing that...
So the only thing we've seen is the controller?
Eh...
That's kind of the point.
Ubisoft is NOT very imaginative. When they think of making games, all they really care about is how pretty they can make them. They're not really a top-tier developer. Most of their stuff is dreck.
Even if you take into account the games NoA is NOT bringing over for the Wii, it still has a stronger future line up than the 360.
...CoD has always been a casual franchise.
Shooters, almost by definition, are casual games.
