If you don't live in the region, you can't adversely effect regional sales. You're not a potential customer, so a pirated game is not a lost sale.
I would go further than GigaGaia and suggest that everyone who can pirate, pirate, and then spam the hell out of NoA's facebook/email/bbs/whatever with images and videos of them playing piratted versions.
They're not underhyped at all.
They've got plenty of hype and plenty of advertising. It's really telling how some gamers think any game without an obscene amount of attention and advertising is "below the radar."
Looks like...
The Last Guy
BuuBuu Cocorechho!
Echochrome
WipEout HD
Hustle Kings
And for the PSP....
Minna no Sukkiri (Everybody's... something)
Patapon 2
Little Big Planet Portable
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival
And some other title whose kanji I don't feel like looking up. XX no kuse ni namaikida or2
EDIT: Looks like BuuBuu is a LocoRoco game, and ...
No game ever needs zombies.
They're lame as hell and always have been. I can't believe how popular these slow-moving, brainless green fuckers have gotten this generation. They're easily the LEAST threatening videogame monster this side of a slime.
A half-assed port? No. Not at all. It's a very competent port. Notice how much they've managed to trim down load times, and altered the GUI to take advantage of that whole extra screen. If you think this is a half-assed port, your experience with ports is VERY lacking.
As for complaining about it looking "blocky..." I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, unless you think that the image in the article was A) an actual 1:1 screenshot and B) tha...
Gundam Musou 3 DLC where?
Eh... not really. JRPGs are pretty lacking for both the PS3 and 360. The only thing JRPG lovers need to buy is a DS.
And the Wii would, by far, have the best JRPGs on it if NoA bothered bringing them out of Japan.
First video game crush? Yikes. Is the article writer 12? This happened to most people in gradeschool.
I made you equal.
You're welcome.
The best exclusives? No. The DS has the best 3rd party exclusives, followed by the PS3.
The Wii certainly has the BEST first-party exclusives, though.
"Due to the Playstation community reveling in this newfound power they have over Sony where if they complain Sony will bend over backwards to please them,"
This is the single most stupid thing I've heard all week.
...Article has nothing at all to do with "3DS In Australia."
It's basically, "What I think of my 3DS now, versus when I first bought it."
While not as bad as most of the other hitbait articles on N4G, this still isn't the kind of thing worth giving a hit to.
Nintendo has always been "hardcore" and has always been more accessible to new gamers than the competition. The Nintendo of today is no different than the Nintendo of 20 years ago.
The problem is the so-called "hardcore" gamers who think that the Wii is somehow not hardcore because it doesn't have the same library of games as the 360 and PS3.
I think that's silly. The problem with the PS3 and 360 libraries is that there's FAR t...
"The Virtual Console offers another incredible reminder of Nintendo's role-playing past."
Or, to put it another way, the Virtual Console offers another incredible reminder of Nintendo's awful role-playing present.
As anime fans? Rampant piracy.
As gamers? Well, that's trickier. In large part, it's due to the relatively poor sales of the PS3 in North America and the unexpected success of the Xbox 360. A lot of Japanese executives (which, remember, don't necessarily know much about gaming, period) saw the success of the 360 and the "rise of the shooter" and thought that Americans were only interested in mud-colored action games. So they either wrote off releasing ga...
I'm certain that the 6-month development time gave them plenty of time to fix the faults of previous games, and add improvements. /straightface
Fun fact: hair still isn't animated.
It's certainly the only Wii game coming out this year I'm interested in.
Plenty of older games I plan on picking up, eventually, though. It's a real shame Nintendo of America is so fucking incompetent, though.
I can't speak for Wing Commander.
And I would have trolled HARD if Kain hadn't been on the list.
Have to disagree with The Witcher, though. It's a great game, but it really shines with the sidequests. The main storyline, while well-executed, is pretty standard fare.
And for some other games with great narratives:
Suikoden II
Suikoden V
.hack//G.U.
Yakuza 2
Valkyria Chronicles
Buffoon. Seriously, use Firefox already.
Does the WiiU even compete with the Wii? I thought it was more of a peripheral. You know, more like a new "handheld" that attaches to a Wii.
That's what it looks like, at any rate.
