If you'd like to supply some links to vids, that would be great, but the only vid I've seen is from a hand-held camera at E3 at Atari's showing of the racer to some press, other than That's I've not seen actual HD in-game footage . . and you simply can NOT judge any game, no matter what it is, on hand-held off-screen footage.
I'll have to admit that that footage is terrible, but that's why we haven't put it up on the site, as it's just hand-held "off-screen" footage and...
There's a significant difference between the 3 different Atari's now.
The one Phil Harrison is in charge of is the UK one and is CEO/President of the parent company Infrograms, which also have stakes in the Australian Atari publishing & Distribution house. Infrograms UK are the only Atari branch which will be doing In-House Development, and the rest will be publishers, with Atari US being strictly a Distribution outlet for Nth America, with no publishing abilities or develop...
I really had high hopes for this game, and was keen to grab it. however, after playing both the demo and the retail game, it's not one that has me wanting to go back to and even get into, let alone finish.
Atari as a Distributor does and excellent job, as it's job as such is simple. Help the developer and publisher get the game out.
As a Publisher, it has a bad habit of forcing deadlines on games and making developers cut corners to finish a game, no matter what. It's...
I will check those vids out GVON, as I'm always open to honest feedback.
Forza 2 is just as detailed in vehicle weight transfer, tuning and the like, You can watch vids of the cars changing as they enter and exit corners, as you tune them, those characteristics change according to what you do. I do have gripes about Forza 2, that's for sure, and I have played GT5's purchasable demo on the PS3 and it is a greatgame, there's no disputing that.
And yes, it does have Ar...
We're discussing racing "simulators" here mate, not glorified shinny arcade racers. GT5 and it's demos are nothing more than really shinny arcade racers and are NOT sims by any stretch of the imagination, and anyone that says they are has no clue as to what IS and what IS NOT a Racing Simulation game.
A simulation offers as close to real world physics as the developers engine can deliver, realistic damage, tyre wear, fuel consumption, suspension damage and wear, and eng...
Correct, and bythe tme GT5 arrives, Forza 3 will have garnered an even higher fan base, which currently exceeds 2 miilion "active" players almost 2 years after its release, and SimBin's Race Pro will have attained a solid following from the real racing fans, while GRID 2 will have swept away the competition in the realistic arcade racing genre' . .Something tells me having 900+ cars in a racing game isn't about racing per-say, but more about pleasing every fan out there that wants t...
It's been in the works since early 2006 with SimBin even putting out a Video on XboxLive if you bother to go and check it out . . It's under the title GTR . . .daaahhh . . . and ever racer has been waiting for it and was disappointed when not one but 2 publishers turned their backs on it , last one being THQ in 2007. SO do a little READING and then check the footage in XboxLive's Game video section for GTR and then you'll see what it can look like.
Just "perhaps" there "might" be another 360 steering wheel in development, you never know?
And you never know that MS might just support a 3rd party steering wheel if they simply drop their own in favour of allowing various (or one) 3rd party peripheral companies to take the lead. This would save them heaps in R&D and construction, and gain more in returns via licensing fees, which makes more sense to the bean counters.
They did so with the fl...
@ SEiGHTan
In "general" . . (as I said in the article) meaning not all, but a huge majority, do like arcade racing over "Sims" . . . The main break to that rules only has been Forza 2 (as Forza 1 did NOT have the following Forza 2 has), and the TOCA Series was pre 360 and even then had a a much small following in comparison to other "console arcade racers" which often sold 4 times as many games that any of the TOCA series or "sim-style" gam...
For me, this is going to be THE title to get in the racing genre' . . no other has the pedigree that SimBin has, nor has the pure expertise in delivering a true racing experience in gaming All they do is make great racing games, nothing else, and what I had seen of the previous iteration under the name of GTR for the 360 was a welcomed sight. So waiting for this renamed game (Race Pro) will be a long one, eagerly awaiting the day of its release.
How it will be received by console...
Like I said, noo one reads of has a calender. ANt journolist worth their salt willknow about this stuff before most people, as they are feed by the najors who issue them with press statements and are privy to certain information.
Now if the press are, and have a story READY the moment someone says something "officially" like 1 minute AFTER an announcement a full report goes up on the net, then don't you think all the majors know roughly what each of their competitors a...
Like I said, 'some' people don't read things from all platforms, they just read the stuff they want to read, if they read or listen at all. And only read/listen to things that support their original notions.
It's blatantly obvious to all major gaming journalist that this year, E3 has been a showcase for what MS's Xbox-Div have been working on for some time. Of course "some" sony fanbouys will be livid that their "prized title", the one they said would NEVER co...
Hey Super... You should know by now that many in here can't or don't read, They see a headline and then pass comments as an authority on the subject, even IF the information contained in said article counters what they are saying .
Simply because THEY said so, so therefore it MUST be true. If more ppl read some of the excellent articles from many of the sites in here, some would learn a few real facts about games and gaming.
I still believe the halo fans of today (a...
I personally do NOT think Halo Wars will be as successful as many think it will be. It will not have the huge teen and sub-teen following the current Halo franchise does. It will require some effort and RTS style know-how to get good results, and the basis of Halo's current success is based on mad Run-N-Gun mayhem and nothing much else.
It will appeal to the huge number of older RTS fans and to those who play a lot of RTS on PC's, but I do believe it will not go down well with th...
You never know, he might have changed his tune with Activison backing them in this one,and now they are also part of EA, they have to look at games across the board, or lose funding and support. And quality will have a bearing on that I'm sure.
Personally I hope it appears on all 3 major platforms . .
DO grow a life mate, if you have nothing sensible to say, don't say anything.
I hate fanboys like you who sprout stuff but have nothing to back it up with.
Both major platforms have some excellent Exclusive ideas and AAA' titles and many gamers will benefit from it (all platforms). Shouldn't it be more about Gaming per-say rather than seeing wholes got a bigger dong than the other. It's like schoolyard tomfoolery all over again.
And is xbugs a new name ...
It's based all around a book called My Secrete Window, which was turned into a excellent movie staring Jonny Deep, excellent stuff, and well worth the rental to check it out. You'll get a good idea of the game from that.
Harry, the policy is for basic, personal blog diaries that do not supply any news, not sites run with blogging software, if that was the case, y99u'd not be reading any articles from Joystiq-radio, Joystiq, Destrcutoid, xboxfanboy, ps3fanboy,wiifanboy, even NextGen,EDGE NextGenration.biz, xbox360world reporters, Official-Xbox-Mag and Official-Playstation-Mag reporters etc are ALL BLOGS mate.
Wake up - blogs are NOT the devils work, and they fit in with the publishing policies of...
@ harry190 "
And how did this get through? This is Wordpress, anyone can write on this thing. Blog. "
Obviously you don't look at 80% 0f the gaming sites out there, including all the majors. All started out as blogs, many still runs as blogs such as Joysiq, Xbox360fanboy, PS3fanboy, Destructoid etc etc etc. Many started life as humble beginnings and have worked their way up from that.
Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org provide upwards or 60% of all bloggi...
Well after seeing Resident Evil 5 from E3, I'd have to say that one is shaping up much better than this one did . . . The various walk-throughs showed how you use your partner in co-op, which would have been a nice touch in AITD . . but alas, that was not to be . . . Hopefully with further updates, as it is eposodic, that there may be some "adjustments' with the game-play via a patch. One can only hope - and pray.
