I think many are missing the point . .the controller, which is a highly likely prospect, is NOT for everyday gaming or to take the place of the excellent 360 hand controller/joypad (wonder why it got called a ‘joy’pad . .??hmmm) anyway. . . .
The Newton is aimed at games specifically targeted to family fun and casual gaming, not FPS, TP Adventure, RTS games or racing games etc. If MS (and Sony - hence their consideration of the same/similar type of controller as well) want to ap...
My "Best-Bet" choice is April '09, as many PR companies give out a false date to throw ppl off should the info get out, as release dates are very important dates to keep under wraps, but sckuttle-butt about a game is great publicity.
MS likes to deliver it's AAA titles either in Nove or April of each year, Gears, Halo, even hardware is renowned for those same periods of release, with #rd party affiliations or MGS (Microsoft games studios) tie ins being spread throughou...
Have you played the game any longer than several hours. I have well over 100 hours up on Forza 2 98% completion ( http://xboxoz360.wordpress.... and something like 200 cars painted in the Paintshop, (see my stable here:- http://www.flickr.com/photo... and the Forza 3 wishlist (here:-
You're the ONLY person on here from the Sony Camp who is unable to see that we are ALL gamers in t...
Wrong thread - sorry.
I just posted this on our site, but it says what I believe is indicative of many a "decent" gamer out there.:
I appreciate good work when I see it, and there’s many a game on both consoles (also the Wii - sorry nindi-boys) that warrant full exposure. Just the same as there are some that are great piles of dog dodo . . .
The opening scenes are all in-game, and I can see how they can gain credit for that, as it does jump in and out of ‘actual’ gameplay’ durin...
Thanks Fishy . that sounds SO odd and - strange - . .anyhow . .cheers . . We'll have it up soon as poss, while still not running through it JUST to get a review up. We'd rather take our time, than rush any game just for a review to be up first. It's nice when they are,m but gameplay comes first. Otherwise, what's the point in putting up a review . .?
@ DontH8... We have a totally open mind here. Sure, we have chosen a platform to 'support' and we may well be on MS's main Communi...
Well we like to think we don't think of games as just a platform. As many games eventually see their lives change over time, and become multiplatform, opening up the opportunity of play for even more people.
There's only a few games on the PS3 that would warrant me buying one, if I could, and this is most certainly one of the majors. And sure, like ALL games, it has it's quibbles and misgivings here and there, what game doesn't, but as you say, it's one of those games that warran...
Ubisoft's Casual Gaming Dept have signed a deal with Apple to make games for the iPhone, so it will be very interesting to see the style and range of games they (Ubi) will make for the impressive iPhone
s great looking screen. The cost is believed to be near the U.S. price point, with the lighter and smaller units knocking the manufacturing costs down somewhat.
There was ample bossom and legs a-plenty on show mate, that's for sure. And they we not shy about showing it either. And some with "attitude" . .Loved the chic with the finger signs and the tongue out . .
I'll have some more pics up a little later on . .
I hope that was satire there, as I can't see anyone really "wanting" this that bad . . . seriously . . even the demo sucked big time, it was almost unplayable.
Unfortunately, you're probably right. A statistic that bears looking at is that 60-70% of purchases made in stores on games are made by Mums and Dads for their kids . . . Where many hardcore or "gamers" make their purchases mostly online followed by stores.
So given that fact, you can see why some titles such as this, or any movie tie-in does so well, no matter how bad it might well be.
Mums and Dads see it as a fun game for the 'kids" while "game...
One thing that Black added to games of that "era" was persistent destructible environments . . something many of the newest 360 and PS3 titles do not have or are only now starting to have.
In Black, you could shoot out any window that you spotted within a scene. If you shot it in the corner, the glass would shatter diagonally, shot it in the middle and the whole pane broke. Shoot a window frame and the frame broke, as did door frames, walls etc.
If you knew...
You're probably closer to the mark with your comment about a reduction on the 360 alongside the Release of GOW2 . .
MS are scheduled to drop the price soon-ish. They are not going to do it unless it has some momentum behind it to warrant it, or just for the pure sake of it. Gears Of War 2 could be the ideal time to both release a Special GoW2 bundle (probably announce a few weeks from launch like most bundles are) along with a SKU price drop across the board.
They ha...
I suppose we all remember a game called DRIV3R . . . yes . . ?!? Well Atari threw $US10.2 Million at it's Promotional campaign and Marketing alone, not including its development.
Now how long ago was that . . hmmm . quite some time ago. Fast forward to today and we find major Advertizing and marketing campaigns for AAA games can often exceed the development costs the publishers have shelled out to the developer who made the game. And in order to get BOTH back (marketing and dev c...
You obviously do not read anything given to you. I sent you a very polite Pm also suggesting you slip over toe the Official Xbox.com.au site http://www.xbox.com/en-au/c... and check the two icon-links there out, plus the Friends Of Xbox Page and the Xbox GamerSpeak page out where we have icons and articles up as an Official Xbox.com.au Community Site member.
We were also given the privilege of writi...
Correct, I'm sure many sit on the site waiting with baited breath for any articles to appear that have anything to do with the Xbox360 or any games that may appear on both platforms,so they can continually lodge Reports and stop normal articles from being published. Articles that would normally be published on most other site.
Sale of Gears of War 2 can be based on its predecessor, as how else would a company base it's sales prediction, . .? on the newspapers sold last week. Of ...
Do many of you read what is in articles, or just you Sony boys see the word 360 or one of the games coming out on it, and automatically jump into the article submission and give it heaps .. It sort of shows a lack of maturity really.
As one would have thought you need to read something before passing comment on it (the article that is) as the author clearly shows the sales of the original Gears Of War was extremely high sales (5.2m sales of Gears of War) based on a smaller (much ...
Have to disagree with you there mate, while some aspects of what you say are true, some just aren't Assassin's Creed has sold over 6million copies to date. BioShock isn't far behind that, and now it's heading to the PS3 (who cares Sony Fans, it's about gaming not which platform it's on, or not on) and there's Alone In The Dark: Near Death Investigation as just some examples of games that have made SP their main thrust, and succeeded admirably.
The Darkness was 10 times better as ...
The object of a company is to survive - right.
So with that in mind, any company, be it MS, Sony, Nintendo or Phillips etc etc needs to re-evaluate it's decisions as they move ahead. They make miscalculations as they do, and correct them.
Staying fixed on one way is the perfect recipe for disaster and bankruptcy in any business. The need to be flexible and change as the need arises is paramount. It's why Apple is doing SO well atm, rather than sticking to it's guns ...
