Well wee actually managed to scrap 2 last tickets into the MS Keynote on June 1st. Not everyone gets into that. SO we're really chuffed we did. We only got 2 tickets, so the other 2 will be sending the Cover-It-Live and Twitter feeds out from the media room. They can see the keynote on large screens etc, but 2 guys got to go in.
Yes, we're entirely community run, the guys are paying for their own fairs, accomodation, getting visa, passports insurance etc etc etc. All of which ads...
And that's the whole point of us going. We're NOT some company owned site or sub-site as part of a larger syndicate. Or commercially run simply for profits. Sure, it'll be nice when some funds come in, as that will pay for the events we'll need to attend.
But the whole thing is, Gamers giving other gamers the "real news" . .
Now if I did that, I'd have to come over to your place and kill you . . . You see, that's part of the NDA's we sign heheheh . . no Seriously!!
But seriously, there's some excellent news heading your way come E3, and especially the MS Keynote. There's a few games that will just get officially confirmed, some will have dates affixed and others will have "time frames" . . .
Not only from MS, but from several other developers who are all keen to have a chat. P...
We never thought we'd get there. No company is funding us, it's all coming out of their own pockets and seeing that OXCGN is run by volunteers, that's a huge undertaking and level of commitment on behalf of those heading over there.
Sure, lots of sites are, but how many are doing so that do not make money and have no financial backing of any sort - ? Not many, if any.
OXCGN is about gamers helping gamers, we even have a contact with SCEE while we are there to follow...
Now if they only started making the cases special, like they did with the 1st-gen xbox's, they'll sell like hotcakes in winter . .
When MS started selling the special Limited Edition 1st-Gen Xbox's, such as the Crystal, Green, Blue, white etc, many of which were limited runs, they sold out in no time flat. There were many varieties of each, and even Mountain Dew had their own one which today is worth a considerable amount of money if you want one. Like the Limited Simpsons 360. ...
Believe it or not, I've come to like this game, even though I've not played it that muc. From what I have, it does have a certain quality about it that many games seem to lack these days.
Meaning, the make games to suit the audience, which is usually very fickled, and then have a flop on your hands because they have lost interest in it already.
At least this developer stays true to his word as much as he can, and delivers.
my son and I spent WAYYY tooo much time on that game and Sega Rally in the arcades - some years ago. Great fun and being in a lineup of 8-10 machines in one arcade was heaps of fun.
So come on down Daytona . . . it is great to see the older classic arcade games coming to Live.
The Vin is good, I like the Vin. Personally I don't see what the fuss is about those who think he's a bad actor or whatever.
The guy does his job, he's tuff, and can do his job, no matter what role is thrown to him. Like to see have the detractors go in front of a camera just once and see how 'easy it is' - not.
Yes, when I spotted it it just looked right out of place when placed with other new titles - both released and to be released.
It's as if someone forgot to tell the developers we've moved on from "last-gen" . . . Usually European developers are out in the front in that regard. But this one doesn't seem to be the case.
There's actually quite a few more games gone MIA, but these 12 do raise some concerns. However, there has been some news rumbling from a few of these developers - so there could well be some major news coming our way from E3 09
You REALLY would think that some publishers would get the message - wouldn't you. I certainly would If I was working in there. And use times where gamers are hanging out for games when they are thin on the shelves as a launch window, rather than when there's so many games within ONE WEEK, that most gamers choose the top-tier AAA titles over anything else.
Unlike videos, you get TWO weeks in which to sell your product hard on launch, after that it slows down and is a trikle of sa...
Their new Mystery Game out of their new LA studios might have some heads turning as well. http://oxcgn.com/2009/05/02... - we made a small clip of the new site, looks cool.
I don't care at all if 'some' ppl think Square have gone all Western. Who gives a flying you-know-what.
The end of the story is, we as gamers get more great titles, and we ALL get to pl...
The clip looks great - naturally. Square knows how to create excellent graphics and CGI. And by all accounts, when the game arrives on Western shores in 2010 after localising, we should be all in for a real treat . .be you PS3 or 360 owners.
So stop the bickering and just enjoy the game and this guys impressions of the demo.
Gears 1 had been out around a year when a few tales were being told out of school. Besides, when speaking with Cliff, he basically all but said Gear 3 was in the works and that he'd like a little rest before it arrived heheheh
I think there will be a Gears 3 announcement, or something to do with Gears. As while it's been touted as a trilogy, judging from what Cliff said personally while here in Australia in Nov 08, there's a LOT more in store for Gears Of War fans past the next iteration.
What it is is anyones guess. It could be something about the Gears Movie, or ?? BUt there could well be 'something' cooking at Epic and heading for an announcement - soon.
Originally these things start out as excellent ideas - until they become abused so they no longer are viable for anything.
It's a shame really.
Well we all want something moe than they can deliver . . .and we all want them (dev) to focus on a game we want . . I suppose they draw a line and say hey, we can only do so much.
The old rule of do one and hope for the best is no longer viable these days. They need more than one iron in the fire if they are to stay afloat and survive. Especially with so many dev studios closing or merging into larger publishing houses.
Games can have swearing, but there's a big difference between swearing for the stories sake and just swearing to get a rise and make it "popular" because the gameplay is trash . .
It seems many games will resort to the later in order to sell the games, but it's interesting to see that a huge % of those games don't stay in the home all that long, especially here in Australia when Mum/dad hear what their 12-5yr old is listening to and playing.
Yes, they need...
AHh, but you see, they get 10 brownie points in the N4g score for every report, so you could basically lodge reports all day and get several hundred points . . instant rise in ones points tally . . Which is another thing that needs looking at by N4g staff.
Oh, and you do realize, that the person that lodges a report can delete it, then make another covering BOTH items, rather than one report for each item . . but that would mean LESS POINTS you see . . get the picture now . .
Well I have heard that a local art agency is doing the art on a "few new games" for Xbox this year. She works on the graphics for all POS and banner/poster work localising it for Aust/NZ. So has insider info.
All I can say is . . . . I "believe" that 2 of the games are already sort of unofficially announced while some others have yet to be announced. Two of the major genres in gaming are being covered, so I'll leave it up to you to ponder over.
D...
