I'll be grabbibg this, for sure . .CM:D was great, this looks great
One thing that Aussies need is more LANs for both PC's and especially Consoles. These guys do a great job with all of the platforms, and their Halo ones are great.
After viewing the E3 developers walkthrough, I got to understand more about the game and how it will play. Their new engine looks promising, and with the emphasis on making sure you do not disrupt history, it will be interesting to see how this actually plays out when it ships.
The more I see of it, the more I'm drawn to it. I'm not a fan of just all the AAA titles, as many of the so-called AA titles still deliver great entertainment, and provide a new way of approaching a game. ...
It's not a good time to bring a game out actually, but at least it's niot running up against some of trhe heavy weights like SPlinter Cell: Conviction.
Which btw, looks bloody fantastic. We had a showing of it at Ubi the other day, and it looks and plays brilliantly.
Let's hope this game here does well, as developers are finding it hard like everyone else.
Many of Atari's games have been less than stealer of late (as a publisher/distributor) and it seems their financial health is on the same level as their game value or health - average to poor at the best of times - sadly.
Sounds really cool actually, having to make sure history does its best, or suffer the consequences etc.
This is a buyer for me, even though it may look or sound 'odd', these are the things I like in games - for me.
I was hoping for big things from this game, but had my doubts early in the piece when I started seeing some gameplay and actual in-game screens.
Although it's not the best, I think I'll get this as a rental just for some pure silliness.
Shame though, as many great ideas never turn out the way the developer originally intended.
YEs,Alan Wake is actually coming to the 360 first, with the possibility of not coming to the PC - or so the rumnours have it.
I'm with you gaminoz, while there is a very closs knit community within the PC ranks, there's an equally larger - close knit group within the console playgrounds of gaming as well.
PC gamning will never be what it once was, that's a given, and it is changing. However, as much as many might like to throw their arms up in the air and hail thatit will never die, itcertainly will no longer be the thing it once was. Which is more the point actually.
Gaming has now moved f...
I may even see if my son has this on his PC when I'm over there next, as he's off work for a little while, and this could be a great little time waster, while still being fun at the same time . .
I wasn't so into this before, but having played the videos and checked it out, it'd would be something I'd get for some honest - clean gaming fun.
learn to read, it's not about OXCGN's site per-se, but about how ppl treat and view gaming blogs, irrespective of what they are called. There's many a PC blog out there that is well respected . . makes no difference what platform it follows, a Indie Gaming Blog is run by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, and need the support of fellow gamers, not condemnation.
Agreed, one only has to fan through the several main gaming sites, which does include the major gaming blog sites such as Kotaku, Joystiq GameDaily etc, and you'll see the smallest amount of detail, basically copied from one site to the other, all cross linking themselves.
Dedicated Gaming Blogs that are run by enthusiasts put 10 times more work into the articles, do more research (as they have to, their name is on the line) and actually have more details on the news or game . <...
This is one game that has a huge future, and as Ubisoft hinted, don't expect it to stop at number 3. If we follow the tale of these factions, they go on for centuries, and will no doubt take us into the future when the time arises.
I'm personally looking forward to the next iteration, and we'll (OXCGN) be having some hands-on time next week at Ubisoft's Australian offices.
Many major sites (corp syndications simply share the same news item across the board, in all regions. They have a monoploy on the news media in getting items first, even though generally speaking, they are followed less by the general gamers.
One thing these sites can not do, represent real, daily game playing gamers who spend a great deal of time doing just that - playing and enjoying games for the fun of it, rather than just doing it to get paid each month
Love it mate, you should get a job in marketing, you'd do well . . . hehehe.
But yes, the funny thing is, many parents will see Little Red Ridding hood, and the MA15+ and think nothing of it, after all, it's "just" 15+, how bad could it be . . . hello, it's been built for 18+ gamers, NOT 15 yr olds . when will the Australian Censorship board get it right, if it ever will, which I doubt.
I had this exact conversation with a US (Aust based for a period) Devel...
It is rather twisted, isn't it, and looks like loads of fun at the same time .. . . should be interesting to see if it gets taken up though . .?!
We had a glitch in the trailer, but it's all fixed now,
Gave me nightmares , , had visions of Little Red Ridding Hood chasing me with a huge knife and poor gingerbread men hiding behind me . . ..
I think it will actually be a hit with many hack-n-slash players that love loads of the red stuff. But I'm going to leave it to them to fight over when we get code. . . .
ANd it's not cheap either, that's for sure.
Anyone that has priced the Fantec Porsche 911 wheels for the 360 can vouch for that, so add that to the wheel stand, and you've got a sizable prize, plus the LE Edition of Forza 3 looks like it's shaping up nicely.
