The actual RRP on the two types of GTAIV are $AUD119.99 and $AUD149.99 for the Collectors Edition. Remembering, while our dollar is very good in the market currency atm, it still doesn't equate our price structure here. We have a totally different tax structure (all prices are tax included) and our shipping and transport costs are far greater here, than in the US or Europe due to the HUGE distances between main cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbaine etc.
Those prices are again...

Game file size is there to not only keep dev coding down to workable limits, but to limit production costs. Plus to also help smaller developers build games. The higher the file size, the more work it requires with regards to higher textures, AI and various other factors. In days gone by, dev could make a solid game in less that 50 mb, and yet today, there''s many a game of substantial capabilities available on the net with file sizes below 150mb . . .

I'm simply amazed that some of you can call yourself gamers . . . at best many are misguided fans that have no idea about the tools and or resources needed to create the games you all take for granted so easily. WIthout young artists that create games YOU would not have the huge number of games you (read we) all have today, which FAR exceeds anything we have had in gaming history, yet many of you are STILL not satisfied.
If you knew the huge difficulties faced by any budding deve...
I think you'll find the site and article are more inclined at getting people to click on the links after the few Tips, rather than supply factual information, a good way to generate click-through's and PPC on a website.
Notice their inclusion in the list and at the end of the list, almost as if they were "part of the list"
I'm currently doing some research in to PPC (pay per click) at the like at the moment, and this is one method used.
As mentioned in the GamerZone, the development of games go for around the 2-4 years cycle (sometimes longer on new IP's with no assets to fall back on). If Activison, who are the PUBLISHERS here, as this has nothing to do with the developers Treach or Infinity Ward, wanted to wait 2-4yrs between iterations, they would loose the following of the franchise within 12 - 18 mths from fans.
WHile it's easy to say you'll wait, for the financial existence of the publishers, they simply ...
The main premisses behind this is simple. To allow games to come out on a roughly 12 - 18 month cycle, they NEED to be started well before the previous one even hits the shelves. So in order for COD5 to be released this year, most likely late Oct or mid Nov.
The development of COD5 started not long after COD3 finished, while Infinity Ward were busy working on COD4 . . . A games developments cycle is around 2 - 4 yrs depending on how much they use previous items from the earlier ...
There's actually several great new engines that developers are working on, and or enhancements to current ones that will definitely change the way we view and play games.
One of the biggest drawbacks to many games, even in This-Gen is Persistent Real World Damage modeling . whereby the damage you cause in one level or area, is still there, when you return, as you left it. As a great deal of memory is required for that.
Now, with the use of id's new Tech5 engine, as w...
You'll have a while to wait on Haze, as it's been pushed back again, with no date set yet for its release . . .
This game is based around the C&C Universe, and story line - loosely - but is a new game from the ground up, and has been "in-the-works" now for around 2 years or so, with still a little while off before release. So don't judge it too harshly, as a huge amount of spit-n-polish is done in the last month of a games life, rather that within the first few ye...
If you check out other trailers on the game, you'll find that the video provided, while "in-game", is more technical demo of what can be done, rather than "actual gameplay" as such . . so the reactions of AI is to show off how the Euphoria's Engine works, rather than how good the AI is. While the others show off how the destructible environment works and the actions between the three engines mesh together.
Showing that in gameplay wouldn't show off how each on...
The 'article' was and is never meant to be "NEWS" . . . but a take on "Exclusiveness" within the gaming market today. If people bother to read the entire thing, check outthe links to support the comments, and also see that the Xbox360 camp gets a bash as well, they'll see it's in no way a Sony Bashing event . . . it's meant to have people think about how there's a change in the developers and publishers way of thinking regarding "Exclusiveness" in games.

@TANDO . .
Just exactly where does it say PS3 outsold the 360 by 100k units in the US (topic of thread)? World Wide perhaps . . . show link, but in the MOST major region, they are still well behind the eight-ball, and not increasing all that much.
See other NPD article in N4G.com:
Video games sales for November exceeded the market's expectations. Total hardware units came in at 4.32 million units, 6.41% ahead of the market's expected 4.06 million...
If you read the article in question, you'll (anyone) notice it states clearly that the 9 games mentioned WILL be coming out in the 2007/08 fiscal year, which DOES include Haze, Assassin's Creed, End Wars etc etc, see below excert . . . and please people, read it. It's amazing how the internet works. As story stating 'simple' fact gets turning into a story that's totally made up and has no resemblance to the actual facts . . simply amazing.
If I put that twisted story on my blog...
Isn't it amazing how so many people:
• 1) don't bother to read an article 'properly' and
• 2) Automatically jump to sensationalised assumtions ..
If you read the small section of the report that was printer over at 360Gamer.com just below:-
That, “As a result of the positive trends observed during the first half of the year as well as the positive outlook for the third quarter, Ubisoft has decided to postpone the release of certain games”.

Excellent, well thought out and presented post.
I've had a year with Xboxlve, and a few years without, and now don't have it . . .
Why, simply because I play very little online. Yet, I do use and download many demos, game and industry video/docs etc, as well as purchase the odd thing here an dthere from MarketPlace. This isn't reliant on me having XboxLive Gold. I get it all on Silver.
One thing many gamers seem to forget, is that services provide...
Both games are great, and graphically, GT5 does have the edge in many areas, but then Forza 2 does have 'certain' aspects that are over GT5 . . . Having played over 110 hours of Forza 2, there's times I forget it's actually a game, and the glare off the road surface, or a cars back window is so life-like, it's scary. The tyre marks so eveident in FMS, however they are not there in GT5, nor is the dynamic lighting from tress and shrubs that change according to the cars position on the track, a...
The game is a racing simulator, not a mad smash-n-bash arcade game. It's not designed for rally, and the like, but some weather changes for long Enduor's would be good, as would night time racing on tracks etc.
Tracks are tracks, you're there to race, not have a picnic . . . Sure, PGR3 had excellent visuals, was an excellentgame, but lacked the true racing feel that many sim loves like. PGR4 on the otherhand has taken the series back to almost pure arcade, and for me, is a ste...
Forza 2 was released many many months ago, and has one of the highest user support networks around for a console based racing game, with forum, tunning and painting help right throughout the community.
Personally, I've invested well over 110 hours into it, and being a real racing nut, I can honestly say this game is well worth the effort and time it takes to play it. I've still to 'finish' it, and have just 2 races left which will net me two major gold achievements, ALL Gold in...
Having spent a great deal of time researching games, especially for the 360 over the last few years, its' easy to see why most of those games, that did exists - of sorts were canned. Many will see re-incrnation of one degree or another on "Thi-Gen" consoles simply because it was/is no longer viable for developers to solely concentrate on games just for the PS2, when the current generation console hardware can push games much further than before. (see www.xboxoz360.wordpress.com - ...
You obviously have not had or run a business in the past, or been involved in a major business of any sort on a management level. As shown in the letter from Mark Rein above, it was, and is a complete "misunderstanding' regarding the so-called Exclusiveness of UT3 . . . if bothered to read it of course . . ?
Companies make choices based on the future, not the current situation, Rare are about to drop Perfect Dark Zero 2 this holiday season, as well as several other games l...
The writer has many faceplates, and has had one specially commissioned to be made for Assassin's Creed in the US I believe. Plus he is a collector of all those things collectable around gaming, as am I. And overall, the faceplates here in Australia, and even in many other countries has not taken off as one expected.
So while he in particular isn't against them as some inferred, or that he shouldn't buy them if he doesn't like the, that's not his point.
His point is, ...
