It's clear that reviewers don't want to stray from the status quo. Given that this game has been pretty well-received by gamers that bought the game I can't think of any other reason why so many reviewers drag this game through the mud. Their peers have given it low scores so they will too.

The game is indeed quite enjoyable. I don't understand the hate. It's not perfect, no game is, but it is not nearly as bad as reviews would have led me to believe. Glad I bought it.
This game absolutely plays like a solid 8 at least. Seeing 6s and below is BAFFLING. This game is getting beat up by "professional" reviewers and I can't even fathom why. Because there's no next gen releases? They weren't paid off? They were primed by the early GI and Edge low scores? Norway has much more successful rehabilitation rate than say, the United States. It is rated as one of the most peaceful nations on the planet as well. I love the 3DS, but I don't understand how nintendo screws up like this. It's so simple; release the Wii U with the obvious launch titles to sell it: Zelda, Mario, and POKEMON. I doubt we would be talking about the Wii U being a flop.

There's a difference, but holy crap the reaction to these resolution differences is what I would have expected if the ps4 was displaying in 4K resolution and the xbone in 420...
Really. 1080P is great but I don't see how 720P is a deal breaker, or even worth the amount of ridiculous attention it has been getting. I'm much more interested in seeing how superior the later ps4 exclusives will be to anything that can be done on the Xbox one.

Also this game has noticeable screen tearing. Not too bad in actual gameplay, but it's there, and the cutscenes oh god. Plagued with screen tearing.
Games need to include vsync as an optional feature players can choose to have on or off, and honestly if a game can't run decent frames with Vsync enabled then it either needs more development or it is simply pushing the hardware too much.

If I could only voice one complaint about current gen games, it would undoubtedly be about the overwhelming existence and prevalence of screen tearing. It is present in so many games.
Some people don't notice it, which is great. But for some of us, it is the most distracting thing ever, and in some cases, like mine, it can cause headaches. I can't play games with severe screen tearing for long periods of time.
I don't know if frame rate can be fixed but there are other stability issues that can be fixed as well. I saw pictures someone took of their game glitching that essentially made the pokemon all have enormous underbites looking derpy...turning off the game and back on fixed it though. Some sort of graphics error.

If more gamers adopt your attitude games will double in price under the veil of "the extra money is going towards improving the game." Maybe they'll throw in a FREE demo, so you'll be satisfied.
