It has Sonic in it. Apparently as long as that remains true that's enough to slap the "bad game" logo on it.

Games have become far more commercial. Plain and simple and only a few companies have managed to keep the old gaming feel with their new titles (whether or not the general fanbase is supportive of them or not).

Personally, I blame FPS games. They are super easy to do and hardly anyone does anything worth noting. Metroid Prime introduced platforming to the FPS genre and Half-Life 2 played by the book exactly to get a great game out of itself, but when the concept is as simple as ...

A decent review...the only correction is that the Sonic Team they are referring to has long left and a new team has been around since I think after 06....

Miyamoto spearheaded Super Mario Galaxy as well as the Wii series games, if anything he knows what how to make a great game as well as how to expand the gaming horizon.

N4G...I've put up a lot with a lot from this site...but c'mon...is this really news? I mean, my God! He freakin' is not only still talking about E3 but is simply going on a f****** rant about Link's new arts style or some Mario sports game...nothing really specific...

Please...can someone remove this? This isn't news or even an opinion that anyone should spend their time caring about.

What about House of the Dead? No More Heroes? Don't those count towards the Wii's non-family friendliness?

I'm speechless....a positive review for Sonic and the Black Knight...that goes into more depth than almost every single nay sayer...the end must be nigh...what are we going to do?

(answer: We call the watchmen!)

While I honestly can't say I agree with the reviews methods (i.e. comparing it Sonic games from the genesis) at LEAST it seemed to cover most of the basics and made me believe that they played through the game.

I thought it was funny they mentioned chemical plant zone when talking about worlds because when they later complained about speed, I just remember that level had so many parts where you had to stop! Stop for the elevator, stop and ride the moving platform across the wate...

I mainly use the Wii. Many great, underrated but still great, games on it... and it fits in my dorm room much easier than anything else.

Have any of you guys played this game?

Sorry, but this review fails...or, he never liked any of the 3-D Sonic games ever, because this review fails on so many levels.

For one, I never quite understand why everyone says "Oh no, Sonic had to stop for a second, this game is bad, Sonic is dead, boo hoo hoo" when ever since Sonic the Hedgehog 1, platforming that required stopping was always a part of every Sonic game...seriously, every single one. Even a lot o...

I think you can take the commentators off...so is it really a negative?

Yeah, I'll still have to try it out though, the previews made it seem like there's always a lot of different ways to kill people. Not that repetition in a game all about killing people in awesome ways can get old. No More Heroes didn't get old, no matter how you cut it.

Lastly, why would we want them to put up a huge fight? To slow the game down and stop all the killing?

Where were they when No More Heroes came out last year?

6191d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

If you look into it, no third party company seemed pissed off about the announcement. I believe Ubisoft stated that Red Steel 2 was in development with the motion plus for a long time (and this was pretty recent after the motion plus was announced) and there is a virtua tennis game that will use it, and even Krome Studios said that they weren't willing to wait half a year for the motion plus to release their Star Wars games.

The whole "developers are pissed" thing was ...

It's really hard to go along with an editorial like this when it's SO painfully obvious that what they are claiming isn't the case.

First off, it's propagates the casual gamer witch hunt, claiming that they are the reasons more and more developers are "dumbing" down their games. Eh, maybe if you only play games (casual or hardcore) til the main story is done and then quit. I'm going to ignore the fact that plenty of Nintendo first party games like Metroid Prime 3, Fire...

You really have to take a game review on a case by case basis. I find that Nintendo Power reviews Nintendo games rather fairly, and if they say something about a game is good or bad, I usually find that it's true when I play that game.

Then you can take IGN, who apparently hardly play the games they review, making their stuff really shallow and when it comes to something they really don't like for whatever reason, they exaggerate the negatives and hardly touch on the positives. ...

Uh...have you played the game? Cause, I'm playing it right now, it's fast, there are parts where it's faster than any Sonic game I've ever played. It actually does hack and slash with Sonic just fine and it's suppose to be more like Sonic and the Secret Rings than anything else, which also does just fine.

I think I'm still going to get this game...IGN not only kinda misses the point with this game (they are still thinking that this is suppose to be like the old 2-D Sonic games when it clearly isn't), but time and time again they have proven their inability to hold a wii remote properly, constantly claiming unresponsive controls when the controls are pretty are actually pretty tight, and they in-fact, hate the Wii (if it wasn't obvious before).

I'm willing to bet that anyone who l...

Wind waker came out in mid 2003, Twilight Princess came out in late 2006. That's almost 4 years for the console Zelda's...why do you expect that a new one should come out in 2 years? (Phantom Hourglass for the DS is a great Zelda game, it came out last year, so technically it hasn't been that long since a Zelda game came out).

And we can talk about marketing all-day long, House of the Dead and Madworld are getting a lot of commercial time, so I dunno.

Sure we can a...

Another wonderful post.

It's also Nintendo's userbase, lower production cost on games, and unique controller scheme that is attracting third party developers (just like the DS).

Remember when Sega said the Wii was a terrible idea? Looks who is publishing some of the most anticipated games of the year now.
