First off, who suddenly made you the king of what is hardcore and what is not?

What exactly makes a game hardcore and what doesn't? In my mind, Warioland is a hardcore game, why? It's a 2-D platformer. A casual game is something you can just pick and play, and while you can get through the story pretty easily, all of the extra stuff is incredibly difficult. A hardcore game is a game that is meant for the gamers right? That has always been my impression at least.

I didn't say Nintendo refused to use the a more powerful machine than anyone else, I just said that they use more reliable tech. That's why Sega had to market their consoles with things like "blast processing" (it's also ironically why Sega fell out of the console industry).

Also, the advantages to using older tech is that you can optimize coding and such to make a game look beautiful even though the machine it's running on is not as powerful.

But Nintendo functions on the philosophy: Lateral thinking of Withered technology. Meaning, finding new ways to use old and reliable tech. That's pretty much how they've been since the gameboy.

In other words, Nintendo doesn't need the most advance tech or even that high of tech to create brilliant ideas. I'll believe they'll keep working with the Wii they have now until they completely run out of ideas and then make the Wii 2 with some other crazy idea.

Why? The Wii hasn't even out half as long as the gamecube, and it's still selling strong. Nintendo has no need to be at any where beyond the conceptual stage for their next console.

Right now they are probably trying to find (or maybe they have) some other developer to make the next metroid game (since I heard Retro was no longer working on it).

Sonic's holding a chili dog? O_o

Really, it always makes my day to go to the zoo and laugh at all the people who think they know what they are talking about, but they don't. It's kinda like watching a fish that jumps onto dry land, thinking it can breath out of the water. Let's break this down, shall we?

First off, he starts off with the holiday season. Okay...well, for the sake of his argument you would have to ignore the rest of 2008 (and admittedly slow year for us Wii owners) otherwise it wouldn't make any s...

I think since Sonic was created, it was aimed for a younger demographic, with the exception of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 (both which, were not the best Sonic games).

Especially since they are amongst the few developers out there who are striving to make the Wii more hardcore. I'm sure anyone making a Wii game like this are fans of No More Heroes, House of the Dead:Overkill, etc.

Does IGN hate Nintendo so much that they have to fish for any kind of reason to make people think that a game on the Wii is not going to be as good as any other game? I mean seriously...who cares?

But when a developer like Factor 5 (making a new Kid Icarus) and Free Radical (Star Wars Battlefront 3) have to close their doors...this is a pretty lame blessing in disguise...more like a slightly less painful punch in the face.

I miss techTV. I used to watch that show non-stop, everything from Extended Play (who remembers that?), to Anime Unleashed (Betterman rocked!), and Thunderbirds was something my step-dad and I could bond over.

Now it's almost dead...and every time I am reminded of that, I just feel the child in me sit in a corner and cry.

Was House of the Dead ever suppose to scare you? I thought it was just arcade light gun action.

Hm...I don't think I quite understand. He says that Sega has put out similar titles all within a short time frame, right? My only question is like...what?

So far, none of the Sonic games that have come out recently have been merely updates from each other like the Madden series. Even Secret Rings and Black Knight play completely different, and they are from the same sub-series.

The only thing "old-fashioned" about this writer is his lack to see really anything beyond what the internet tells him.

"But as the months have worn on and more Wiis enter homes around the world, I'm left wondering if I'm an "old school" gamer who has been left behind. Sure, I own the Wii and I've played all the games listed here, but if we are to believe that sales figures can adequately determine the preferences of gamers, I don't think it's out of the...

I stopped shortly after "toy", this guy, no matter what games he has been apart of, does not know gamers. He basically generalized gamers into those who like to do nothing but kill things, and those who don't. Sorry buddy, but there are gamers out there who are more interested in doing other things in video games than running around and killing as many things as possible.

I can think of a few big reviewers guilty of possessing these "signs" *cough*IGN*cough*Gameinformer* cough*

But who cares what he thinks, he's been disbarred and if anyone has ever read his "honest" review of GTA IV, the man is obviously insane.

If anything, this article and God don't mix. The first page is more or less spent on criticizing religion. The author also confused religion with politics on more than one occasion.

The subject is that people can't get passed the idea that games have evolved well beyond that of just a medium to pass time. It can actually be serious.

Granted that most games (like Left Behind) are kinda more tarnishing religion than anything else, I think that religion can be shown as so...

The epic is was written as a political statement. I'm Catholic (so was Dante) and he didn't base anything off doctrine, and the piece is widely regarded as by church officials and literary scholars as fictional (Lord help anyone who believes that the Divine Comedy is based off doctrine).

Sonic and the Secret Rings, and hey, this game is that game's sequel.
