The same reason why there are other sports games.

Also, think of it like this: Parents don't like violence, but kids might want to know what it's like to play a FPS style game. Well, here's sort of the medium.

has Nintendo lost the hardcore gamer?

I don't think so, as much as the so-called hardcore gamer has lost Nintendo. Despite what people are believe, Nintendo hasn't really changed at all over the years. Sure, I don't think Nintendo will be able to win over the Halo or Gears obsessed crowd, but those games(or games like) don't define gaming they are neither the pinnacle of what gaming can be or are even remotely close. Right now, all three consoles have things going for them, whic...

Last I checked, Wii dominated most of the top 5 selling games in the US

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- 3.5 million (est.)
2. Mario Kart Wii -- 3.4 million
3. Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360) -- 3.2 million (est.)
4. Wii Play -- 3.0 million
5. Wii Fit -- 2.8 million

"Finally a truly new, original, adult-oriented game for the Wii"

Um...this game came out pretty early in the Wii's life....

Mii's, because I actually have the option to use them in the Wii series games, Mario Kart, and Guitar Hero and not something lame like Uno....

Somehow...I don't think this interview was recent...but anyhoo.

The only thing I can imagine holding some, if not alot, of 3rd parties back is that some engines and such that are pretty common and used by most developers, don't run on the wii, at least, the latest version. Of course, it's mainly graphics engines, with HVS having to create one from scratch which hopefully can be distributed to other developers.

Another problem is that the Wii takes the developers ou...

What bothers me the most is that it says that these are each consoles "top ten" exclusive games, but the average of the Wii is brought down by having games that are not their best exclusives and leaving them out.

They might have done that with the other consoles too (didn't check) but this entire report is flawed to begin with.

"It’s a B grade game"

If it's a B grade game, then why didn't it get a B grade?

"It's the same thing as the DS version, but does it all better. It's a shame that this is basically the same Animal crossing as Wild World, except that do all these wifi things better, and there's more detail, and there's four way voice chat..."

Really, what did IGN expect from Animal Crossing? Some amazing FPS action? RPG elements? More "not Animal Crossing" elements?

It just doesn't feel/look like an MK game without gratuitous amounts of gore. What happened to the game that started the ESRB?

That review seems kind of harsh....like, they give it a completely bad score despite saying that it controls and looks pretty good. I mean...it seems they are blaming the developers for their own high expectations, because Naruto: Clash of Ninjas Revolution 2 seems to be getting higher reviews despite being nothing but waggle....so now I'm really confused, reviewers seemingly hate waggle, yet...don't actually like games that have more precise controls.

It's just an average...which means there are people who play way more than 50 minutes a week or whatever and people who play less. Considering that the Wii to other console ratio is something like 3:1, that's probably in the healthy range.

Well that was down right confusing.

"You'll love the main story, but you'll hate the main story, don't bother with that..."

I get some of the points they made, but it kinda seemed like they were reviewing a movie, not a game...

So why don't these companies sue the other companies that also infringed on their patent?

This is like what, the 3rd "infringment" against the Wii's motion control ability? Well, what about the other companies that had patents on motion control technology, just make a long web of lawsuits until no one can make anything.

I think it should be noted that Krome Studios has stated that they knew about the Wii motion plus, the same goes with Ubisoft and EA (or who ever is making the top spin game for the Wii).

Casual gamers have always outnumber hardcore gamers...mainly because there are very few requirements to qualify as a casual gamer. While I believe their are more casual gamers than hardcore ones now thanks to the Wii, I don't think the hardcore gamers has declined at all. So, if anything the market has grown and consoles are stronger than they ever have been.

That's the reason why I ended up not getting a PS3...not a single game interested me (okay, a few have, but not enough to warrant the price tag)...just trying to show things from a different perspective.

Wait...this sounds like something Sega said WAY back when the Wii was new. I distinctly remember Sega saying "The wii sucks" or something to that effect...and then changed their mind when they saw how much money it makes and started to get their hands on publishing rights for games like Madworld, The Conduit, etc.

Not a bad idea.

I was thinking of something that. I was kinda thinking instead of medals or badges, but the you know the photos that are taken on Mario Kart Wii and Metroid Prime 3 when you win. Well, that's what I was thinking. When you do something amazing, it takes a picture of it and sends it to your message board so not only can you say you did something, but it also shows everyone else the exact moment you kicked ass.
