Well, being a Wii owner, score means very little to me...but it seemed (to me) that this blog was trying to say the game was deeper and that a lower review score might be due to reviewers not "getting" it.
Don't get me wrong, I love symbolism. It's just, I like symbolism wrapped in something good. Mirror's Edge is a good game and probably not fair to compare to Hemingway, but like I said, it just seemed that this blog was trying to make something more of something so l...
So here's an anecdote for ya'
I think Hemingway is terrible. Sure he put tons of symbolism and such into his writing, but he writes about people in a bar talking and talking in such a way you can't tell who the speaker is. Very modern and such, but on the surface (which is still important) it's still boring.
So, here's Mirror's Edge. According to reviewers, it lacks some qualities that prevented it from getting a super high score but it was deep, hidden, little tin...
I wonder what it's like to have not a single original idea in my head.
First off he gets pissy about a demo (although I disagree with what he says about Wii sports) and a gamecube port (which is funny cause he somehow didn't get the memo that TP was originally for GCN)
Of course he has to bring up the standard "Nintendo doesn't care about hardcore gamers" remark while he blissfully ignores Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart, and Warioland. Of ...
Perhaps they are talking about the PC release...wasn't that just released?
I'm sure Wii exclusives like Madworld and The Conduit may cause some of the install base to dust off their Wii's, making it a very viable platform for mature content.
Also, the price of the Wii (accompanied by the controller) might have these games move some consoles.
Still waiting for that "report".
The ultimate showdown! Who's opinion is more valid?!?!?!?! RAWR!!!! This is going to be pay-per-view worthy.
Great games weren't made in a year. After seeing what it could do, I'm not surprised that year two was a bit bumpy. (Also, did this person say Guitar Hero was a core game?) Year three however: Madworld, The Conduit, Monster Hunter 3, No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2, ooh...can't wait.
Why don't people comment when Wii Music actually gets a 7 or above?
Hm...
"Hey, this guy made something utilizing Nintendo Wii technology. Can't wait for the PS4 to utilize it..."
I also heard that they are making self-driving cars, can't wait for the PS4 to use this exciting new technology.
and the motion plus attachment comes out in the spring.
oh gosh, this game better come to America!
I'm really confused now? You said that Nintendo didn't have any games to say "just wait for," like GoW3. But, that's a lie.
All those games I mentioned are games we Wii owners are looking forward to them. Madworld has gotten nothing but praise in the previews, Red Steel may have suffered, but we've seen Wii Motion Plus at E3, The Conduit is, well, The "freakin'!" Conduit and regardless of what it's like in the end, most of us are looking forward to it the sam...
What are you talking about? The Conduit, Madworld, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter 3, ta-da!
What's really pathetic about the Wii hate here is that despite this "bad news" the Wii is still selling more than any other console (and according to this article, in Japan!)
In case anyone hasn't noticed, Nintendo hasn't changed, at all. Games like GoW or GoW (lol, Gears and God of War) would never have been on a Nintendo console (pfft, which is perfectly fine by me) ...
I think this person is greatly confused about how we classify games.
Like his last example for instance, makes no sense. Sci-fi classifies the style of the game, but RPG classifies the game mechanics. Like is Halo a sci-fi game or a shooter game? That's easy, it's both!
Even some of this less "I can't believe he can't figure it out" examples don't make much sense. If a game is strictly linear, meaning you go stage by stage, it's probably not an adventure ...
I had high hopes for this game. I'll probably ask for it for Christmas or just buy it eventually cause while not revolutionary, it still looks (and based from a couple of reviews) like a decent platformer.
Wii is not region free, and no news of this game coming for the PS3.
Then why is Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii top sellers over GTA IV?
My guess, is that both companies don't understand gaming, per say. I'm not bashing them they are both excellent consoles, but both of them simply seem to be building on existing ideas for game consoles. Better graphics, better online, etc.
This isn't the first time Nintendo was doing better than it's competitors despite having "non-next gen" tech. The SNES vs. the Genesis comes to mind and the fact that the Dreamcast had to drop out.
Nintendo has always ...
Oh totally (the blog also references The Scarlet Letter, not one of my favorite books, lol). But I fear it may have looked too deep, since it very way could have been playing off the player 1/player 2 theme or in this case team 1 and team 2 which are often represented as red and blue respectively. Whatever though, at this point, whatever someone thinks is probably right (a "no is one is wrong" kind of scenario).
