Highly enjoyable read that raised some great points :D
Agreed, mate. I had so mnay fun hours playing that game. I wish it would show up on XBL Marketplace for download :D
Considering the utterly beautiful games we can get today, it really makes me wonder if the next generation can improve on graphics much more!
Personally, though, I'd like to see the graphical trend lean away from ultra-realistic and combine with more fantastical art-styles to create some utterly mind-boggling worlds! :D
Agreed. Few manage to ever combine awesome art with graphical power, instead most have either one or the other.
For example, Brutal Legend; I loved the art style, but it wasn't technically impressive.
To be honest I find the whole of N4G pretty nuts when it comes to articles. Things get reported for the smallest flaws, or because it's insulting the damn PS3 or something.
I try to keep my reporting as fair as possible, and if it's just a minor error (a couple of small spelling mistakes for example) I'll report it and explain the mistakes. But other people seem to make there reports sound so offensive. So what if he didn't spell something correctly; typos h...
Well spotted, sir. :) *runs off to fix things up*
My exact words about Nids are generally "those evil buggers". I stand by those words :D
Reviews are just opinions, so it always beats me how people can post hate comments on a review simply because a review didn't give a game the score they wanted.
I've had it on a few reviews I've done, all because I gave the game lower than a reader thought it deserved, and in some cases because I scored it higher.
Reviews are opinion, not fact.
I won't knock his his opinion. Gaming is an expensive hobby, and there is a good chance that if they dropped the price their overall sales would increase.
But right now, right here, I don't mind paying the money as long as I enjoy the game :)
Exactly. I have no problems with a good old fashioned console war as provides compeition which results in the companies trying outperform each other. That's a win for us as it means better tech!
And I have no problem with people debating the merits and negatives of their favored console with a person who loves the opposing console, but these fanboys just attack each other for the sake of it now. Instead of reasoned debates you get morons that throw hate comments at each...
It's not often I will knock anyones article, but this was bad. it's short and just feels like a rant more than anything else.
But that's just me :)
Considering the cost that it takes to actually produce a game, I don't mind paying forty quid for game.
However, my view will change if they wipe out the pre-owned market, thereby forcing people to buy at full price.
Got to say that I'm thoroughly looking forward to Imposters. It's always nice to play a game that doesn't focus on being "dark, gritty and realistic", instead it just focuses on being fun and mental :D
Which side will you guys be fighting for? The Bats or the Jokers?
From a pure business perspective, it makes sense as you want the most people possible to buy your game so you can make even more cash, and eventually take over the world and all that good stuff.
Thing is, I don't think accessible always has to mean that it's dumbed down. You just need to craft a simple and easy to understand system that progressively gets deeper while guiding the player. But that seems to be a fantasy :(
Lets hope they make something ...
Damn you for trying to turn me against ME3, sir! :D
Regardless of how much the third game has changed, I'm still expecting Bioware to deliver an epic conclusion to one of my favorite series.
They're promising plenty of role-playing elements to be present this time around, so if they deliver on that and intense combat I'll be a happy Wolfy.
I'm mostly hoping that the story decisions all have impact in the third game. This...
Don't be knocking air guitar :D
I love the actual technology of Kinect, but for gaming I just can't get into it. Personally, I prefer it to be mildy integrated into games, such as what they're doing with Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recond. Those kind of features I'd use as I feel they'd enchance the immersion, but I don't want to play a whole game by waving my hands.
With huge pre-order numbers and the fact that anyone buying the first two games will probably stick with it to see the finish, so I don't believe sales will fail. But this is an opinion piece, so I guess we'll just have to see which side is right :)
Well, considering their last singleplayer campaign on Bad Company 2 was about 5 hours long, that would only add up to around one and a half hours of co-op play.
Fingers crossed that the singleplayer is around 20 hours, then :D
Brink gave it a hearty attempt, but didn't quite manage to blend the two together. Though, I think that was more due to the difficulty in telling a compelling story throughout both single player and multiplayer.
I'd say it certainly deserves to be in the running, and in any other year I'd say it had a damn good chance of taking home the gold, but this isn't just any year; look at the titles we've got coming out in the coming months!
It's going to be a close fought battle, but I'd say Portal 2 will be in the running. If not for Game of the Year, then for writing.
