I'm in absolute agreement with you, good sir. It'd a reboot of the franchise, so it's supposed to be different and so, like you, I don't see the point in complaining that it's not like the DMC games before it. That's the point.

On combat I see your point. Most of the reviews are saying it's largely the same, but a bit slower to allow it be more accessible for new players. Comparison is fair, but it has to be kept in mind that this is an easier an...

I still want my epic, sprawling Firefly RPG thank you very much. I'm not an MMO person, but for Firefly I might just have to make an exception :)

As they say any publicity is good publicity and the controversey surrounding DmC has ensured that lots of sites want to cash in by writing articles on it, in turn ensuring that it's most likely going to do well on launch day.

As for me, I'm holding judgement until I get to play it, and I'll be trying to base my opinion on its own merits, rather than overly comparing it to past games. It's a reboot after all, so I reckon that's fair.

An enjoyable if short read.

Ninja Theory have been getting a hard time of it since the announcement, and in all honest they've weathered it pretty well. Some of the abusive stuff they've gotten has been out of hand.

As for the game, controversial is almost an understatement! The article voices the opinion that most people just don't get DmC, and I do agree to an extent: there's a lot of fans who aren't willing to judge DmC by its own m...

I'm looking forward to it, but then I'm not going into it automatically prejudiced despite my love of the previous games, except for 2. 2 never happened.

It looks like a solid action game, and right now that's what I'm in the mood for so it's all good.

There is indeed more to the game. Remember, you've only got the demo at the moment. Ultimately, though it's all about the combat and learning how to create flowing chains, so if you're not enjoying it in the demo then your probably not going to be that fussed about the full game either.

I have to admit this has got me interested, but I'm worried it's going to turn into another cinematic driven game that slams my face into the screen and screams: "LOOK AT THIS! ISN'T THAT AMAZING!? LOOK AT THAT PARTICLE LIGHTING!" Yes, very good mister modern shooter/action/adventure, but can I actually do something now? After all I'd quite like to do some of this cool stuff as well. "WHAT? HELL NO! YOU THINK THIS IS SOME SORT OF A GAME? NOW GET IN THAT ON-RAILS...

I agree that Enslaved was a good game. Not great, but good. The gameplay was solid, with combat feeling meaty but a bit basic and climbing around was too easy, but the storyline and the characters were great.

"I just can't see DmC pleasing anything even approximating a majority of DMC fans. That's just inconceivable to me. If nothing else, I think Capcom and NT should be commended for taking a risk in a gaming climate that's too scared to do anything."...

I honestly doubt the hardcore fans will be please, most because they genuinely don't like the game, but I also can't help but feel that many will dislike it because they'll be judging it in comparison to the original DmC games rather than on its own merits. When it comes to reboots I always try to base my opinion on their merits rather than what they're like compared to the original. It's like how I wouldn't judge the Amazing Spider-Man film against the Sam Raimi trilo...

That would be pretty cool. I'd also like to see space combat introduced into the series so that I've no longer got to sit through epic battle cinematics with my fingers itching :)

Exactly how they'd do it, I have no idea, but it would be great to see.

A good idea for an article there, but the author didn't actually seem to reach any real point past: how can morality in games work? More time and words needed to be dedicated to this article, I feel.

For me, morality in games is a tricky thing. Most games throw in moral choices, but then very clearly sign-post "Good" and "Bad" choices, and then reward you for heavily for being good. I don't think that's all together bad, after all it works qu...

That argument works both ways, though: why should new or casual gamers be penalised with a cluttered UI so that advanced players can go stat mad?

Before anybody jumps at me, I'm not taking a side either way, simply saying that such arguments can work both ways.

Anyway, for me I think the option would have been to allow a much larger amount of backpack slots available for purchase with Eridium, that way new gamers can keep the backpack limit small and ...

It is a bit of a mad qoute, but want I want to to know is why the person that submitted this used it, because the reviewer never said it. It's from the first comment.

Right, let's clear something up here: the author of this review never, ever said, "This entire franchise isn't worth 1200 MS, let alone a 3 hour DLC that clearly features not only content taken from previous games, but also content that was scrapped from the finished product".

That qoute is bafflingly taken from a comment on the review, and for some absurdly stupid reason has been qouted by whomever submitted this as coming from the review. It didn't. ...

As strange as it might sound Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2 was an awesome villain to me. I both hated and loved that smug yet oh so amusing bastard.

I also hold Saren from Mass Effect in high regard as a great villain. He was well written and toward the end I felt a great sympath for the buy, before blowing his head off, obviously. ha!

343 were in a bit of a tricky spot with Halo 4 I imagine. On the one hand they need to make the franchise their own, add their unique flavor to it or risk living within Bungie's shadow, while on the other hand they can't just suddenly change everything around as they'd risk fans lashing out because it's no longer "Halo".

I'd say they played it right with the first game in the trilogy. Just enough new stuff to keep it feeling fresh, although bar...
