I still can't get over Raiden having high-heels. Yes, I know they're specially designed so he can use his feet to hold his sword, but....high-heels? For some reason my head just can't tie, "Badass cyborg" and "high heels" together :D
Agreed. It's a lovely looking bit of kit and the new features are certainly interesting, but if it's uncomfortable then that's a major problem.
Not really. You don't have to describe specific moments during the games plot to provide insight into what you thought of the quality of writing etc.
I felt it was pretty clear, but I suppose it was possible to miss it.
To expand, your review comes off as rather vague about many things. Combat is the focus off the game with a fairly deep system, but you don't really delve into it as much as you perhaps should.
Also, how did you feel about the writing, acting etc?
You tend to describe aspects of the game, but don't really comment on whether you though they worked well or not. For ex...
God, that was a painful read. And if the author reads this, yes it's explained why Raiden has a canine companion.
I've also got to wonder, by nabbed a promo copy do they mean a promo review copy from Konami, because if so embargo on the review ain't lifted yet.... ;)
If they just managed to get an early copy, congrats.
I'm enjoying my time with the game, but sadly NDA form means I can't get away with saying too much :(
More likely to be a generation straddler, developed for current generation consoles for maximum sales with a next-gen port possible down the line, but not guaranteed. Or at least that's how I see it.
Think of it as the same as the transition between PS2 and PS3. Loads of games still came out on the PS2 for quite a due to the large number of people still using it.
Farscape and Firefly could both be made into fantastic games with the right developers at the helm.
And just imagine, if you would be so kind, a Red Dwarf point 'n' click game :P
Here's Randy Pitchford explaining how developement was seemingly split up:

On the Wikipedia page it does list Gearbox in association with Verve Software and Timegate Studios, along with Demiurge on the Wii version.
News articles in 2011 were talking about how level design had been outsourced to Verve.
Are you referring to Aliens vs Predator? Thought it was terrible, myself, but I'm glad you enjoyed it, mate.
Don't forget Brothers in Arms. I loved those games, although the new one is heading in a radical new direction in comparison to the old games. Be interesting to see how that turns out.
From what I'm hearing from people that own the game, the multiplayer is nothing special, either.
On the Games TM score system, a 5 is for a game that performs adequately, or in other words an average game, so they'd saying it was a bit below average.
To me, that equals a game that might be worth picking up when I can get it for £5 to £10. I stress might, depending on what else I hear about it.
It's a shame, but even I admit that as release drew near each new trailer and screenshot was putting me off, and this review confirmed my fears. ...

That also includes the books etc.
Considering the vast size of the Mass Effect universe I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it next. Hell, they could even set it entirely in a different galaxy.
I have to admit that I agree. Angry Birds to me just isn't all that interesting.
However, despite that clearly a lot of people have plenty of fun with it, so that's good news for them! I'm almost jealous in that regard :D
There is actually a cover system, sort of: you can wander up to a wall and Connor will push up against. I found it quite useful, but limited.
I think a full system could work, providing it doesn't break the pacing
An enjoyable quick read. I really need to get back into Torchlight at somepoint as I spent a stupid amount of hours playing it when it first came out.
I thought it was a real shame Torchlight II never came to consoles.
Surprisingly, a lot of people on Rockstars site went nuts over the announcement and posted abusive comments, to the point where Rockstar posted this:
"we understand many of you guys are disappointed with this news – unfortunately sometimes such delays are necessary in all forms of entertainment, and especially in the case of a game experience as massive and complex as GTAV. However this does not give you free reign to be abusive in comments. The general rules of common c...
There's certainly unhappy fans still out there, but I don't think I'd call 'em the majority.
