So go check GameStop, do a search on upcoming titles by platform (yes, even the multi-plat ones) and then compare how many games that GS knows about are coming to your system of choice.
360 - 172
DS - 159
PS3 - 148
Wii - 138
PS2 - 76
PSP - 30
That's right, there are more games coming to the 360 than any other platform. And the PSP is a dried up husk that is limping along until Sony decides to release a PSP2 (hopefully).
It i...
MSFT: Gears 2, Fable 2, Too Human (true, it might suck), Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, Viva Pinata 2, Rock Band 2 (yes, only on 360 initially)... that's just the big name stuff for this year.
From your list, only Resistance 2 and LBP are 2008 titles. KZ2 is 2009, Heavy Rain doesn't have a date and no one has seen it... and New Ico is a nice imagination but again, not even anything announced yet.
Don't get me wrong. Sony has some good games, and they've got som...
Make sure you share what you're smokin'.
I think good ole Donny Mattrick is having some issues. Who's missing Peter "I engraved Halo 3 on my arm" Moore right now?
Don should just 'fess up and say "Look, the FFXIII announcement was huge to us, and we decided to do one huge thing at E3. Does that mean we don't value what Bungie is developing? Of course not. Our relationship with Bungie is critical to our success, and the fact that they're ready to announce their next project is also critical to our strategy...
I find nothing of interest in LBP. But then what I've seen of it looks tedious. I am leaving an open mind that there will be something in this that involves more than a mod community making up stuff.
I agree whole-heartedly with the sentiments on the Wii. The most I've done is play bowling with my kids. The rest of the wagglin' blows mighty chunks. Can we just stop considering Nintendo as being included in the game universe at this point? I mean, we don't comment on Bejeweled, ...
Microsoft must be reading from the book "How to Piss Off Your Biggest Franchise and Send Your Hottest Development Partner Elsewhere."
Seriously... I understand the FFXIII news was huge. But the conference could have fit both these announcements.
And to fart around afterwards with all the finger pointing is really going to strain this relationship.
Shut up.
Let the game do the talking for you now. You aren't helping.
Yes, the hate for Too Human is getting out of hand. I actually liked the demo, and my kids both have played through it numerous times and are slobbering drool all over the place waiting for the full retail version.
This whole Dyack thing is stupid. Who cares what he says? Will any of that have any impact on whether you enjoy the game? No.
Same as all those nuts saying Assassin's Creed would be great because Jade Raymond is hot.
In case you haven't noticed, Reggie specifically and Nintendo in general don't really give a rat's whatsis what the folks on n4g are playing this holiday season. They care what the rest of the world is playing... all those little kids sucking up the latest waggle-fest, all the grandmas trying out WiiBlo or whatever they throw out at the "casual" market. If hardcore gamers fell off the earth, Sony and MSFT would pretty much drop dead, but Nintendo would keep on chugging out their mon...
If there are any hardcore gamers out there who are playing Animal Crossing, then you've got to have your "hardcore gamer card" turned in. Gears 2, Resistance 2, Fable 2... lots of '2's... but keep your Wii around to hold the door open.
I guess I'm not getting it with LBP. So I can create levels with all kinds of doo-dads. And ... ? I stopped playing with Legos 30 years ago. I guess this will draw the kind of people who like to put crap together and knock it down. But seriously, is it really all that? I have no interest in this at all.
They have Resistance 2 and LBP for the 2008 holiday. Up against Gears 2, Fable 2, Too Human (I know, this might suck), and a couple of JRPGs from Squenix. I'd say the 360 has a pretty strong holiday lineup.
The great stuff for the PS3 is always coming later. Why can't they bunch up some of this goodness? It's always months between great games.
You gotta admit, while they are selling like hotcakes, they gave the hardcore gamer NOTHING in this E3.
WiiMusic looks lame. About the only thing that might be worthy of comment in there is the GTA game for the DS.
The rest of it was targeted at all the casual grandmas out there.
Please stop buying this device. It is a cavity eating its way into healthy teeth.
But hardly anyone will play it. My kids wanted one for Xmas, so they got it. But they rarely play it. They prefer the 360: Rock Band and various other kid games, mostly of the T variety. They are stoked for Too Human.
Just saw it on G4TV's stream. Wada announced it himself, with a new trailer.
One less reason to buy a PS3.
I find it ludicrous that the Wii even counts in this race.
When my 360 broke a couple of months ago, I wound up plugging the old Xbox in rather than pick up that retarded wii-mote. My wife and kids can have it; I have no intention of laying hands on that device.
I would love to see Diablo III on the 360 and playable with friends over Live. Bring it on!
So you won't buy the game because the guy who is the lead developer on it made a comment about another game you like? If that's the case, I suppose you'll never buy another game that David Jaffe makes, since he can't seem to keep his mouth shut about anyone else's products.
You sound just like the nutjobs who said "Assassin's Creed is going to rock because Jade Raymond is hot."
"Passive entertainment" is a great phrase for this type of game. Final Fantasy -- and many other Japan-oriented games -- fall into this "bucket." A game with a little bit of interactivity followed by plenty of on-screen, in-game cutscenes. I've pretty much stopped playing JRPGs because I wind up falling asleep in the middle of waiting for my turn. Same goes for MGS... just not my kind of game.
However, I wouldn't go so far as to say passive entertainment is on...
This is the only game that Sony has exclusivity on that will force me to pick up a PS3.
When that happens, I can hopefully get all their "maybe I'll play this someday" games (R&C Future, Uncharted, Resistance 2) played as well (and for cheap).
Until then, Sony is blowing smoke.
