I also have a Wii for the kids. I think I played bowling on it twice the first week we had it, and haven't touched it since. I keep thinking maybe I should pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy and see if there's any redeeming value to the thing at all, but then I think "I could spend that $50 on something I know I'll like on the 360."
I anticipate that if Natal is under $50, then I'll probably pick it up for the kids. I don't anticipate that I'll use it at all unless I can tur...
I am just about ready to put my PSP 1000 and DS up for sale on eBay. I haven't touched either of them for almost 6 months. I'm doing all my mobile gaming on the iTouch.
I keep thinking something will come out that will demand that I play it on the PSP or DS, but there's really been nothing that compels me.
I'm having too much fun playing Plants vs. Zombies, MiniSquadron, Space Miner, etc. anyway.
If the iTouch comes down under $150, you can bet it will ...
I certainly hope it doesn't kill off MW2. There are too many people playing MW2, which is what I think causes all the matchmaking and lag problems. Hopefully a lot of people will stick with MW2 so that BFBC2 can enjoy a better community. It may also help improve MW2 if fewer people are hitting the servers.
The problem with MW2 -- that COD4 didn't have -- is that IW really stretched the bonds of realism. Now, not to say that an FPS has a lot of realism anyway, what with needing multiple shots to take a guy out. I mean, if you got shot in the chest, I don't think you'd be standing there shooting back.
But I digress. MW2 went too far into "sci-fi" land with some of their perks. The sprinting is inhuman, the pounce from 30 feet away to stab someone is ridiculous.
How about Payton having a sterling pair of brass ones, eh? Freakin' gutsy game he called, especially the 2nd half onside kick.
Yet another opinion piece, obviously.
Personally, I loved Too Human. I know there's a lot of hate for it here and on gaf, but I never really did care too much what others think.
Now, everything else on this list I've avoided. My son, however, played Terminator and loved it. Go figure.
So this Wiiner decided to write an article whining about the Wii. How about this? Instead of being a whining Wiiner, go buy a real console like the 360 or PS3 and leave the Wii for the kiddies.
I think there are two things that will drive the timing of the next Xbox (and the next PlayStation and Wii as well).
Obviously technology is a key. MSFT has to be looking at the current landscape and assuming that most of the hardcore people who were going to buy a 360 have done so. We've seen Halo 3 and ODST, Gears 1 and 2 and several multi-platform titles (GTA4, COD, etc) that are major draws for the hardcore/multiplayer gamer.
So Natal is the technology they are h...
Since I picked up my iTouch I've pretty much abandoned playing the DS or the PSP. They're both collecting dust.
Are there better games on the DS and PSP than the iTouch? Sure, I'm not going to argue that. But I play my hardcore stuff (RPGs, shooters, action, etc) on the 360. What I want out of my mobile device is something easy, quick and fun to play. And the iTouch delivers that quite nicely.
I've named this little glitch the "Rocket Douche" for two reasons. 1, you're basically get cleaned out with a rocket and 2, anyone who uses the glitch is a douchebag.
We had one the other night. Everyone on our team must have known about IW and MSFT's claims of suspension, because every single one of the players on my team -- and even a couple on their team -- indicated they were filing a complaint against the player using it.
Don't be a Rocket Douche.
Isn't what's his name -- that guy who is always spouting off with his opinions and was the designer for the first God of War -- working on something super secret? I thought I saw Keighley nudging him during one of the Bonus Rounds toward saying something about maybe a new Twisted Metal.
Thanks for posting this.
Looks like the holidays will serve as a cage match for the PS3 vs. 360. The 360 has almost a 400k lead, but Nov/Dec sales will see dramatic increases. It's important to note this is US only. Without having any data in front of me, I know the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan by a huge margin. Not sure how Europe is going, but even assuming it's even, I think the PS3 has the lead.
But just sticking to the US, I think the 360 will likely hold...
According to Joystiq, Borderlands sold 113k on the PS3, along with the 418k on the 360. A great month, almost as much as UC2 (537k to 531k). Go Borderlands!
It really depends on what their friends are playing. You'll likely see MW2 sell better on the 360 than on the PS3 because more people play online on the 360... mostly because that's where their friends are. I suspect that the banned 360 owners will pick up a 360 because they've been playing online with friends, some of whom don't have a modded 360.
Yeah, it's great to see Borderlands getting the love. Between the 360 version (418k) and the PS3 version (113k), the game sold 531k, almost as much as UC2.
It's a fantastic game. If you haven't picked it up, go get it. PS3 owners, once you finish UC2, go buy Borderlands!
This game was a major letdown.
These Edge dudes have no clue what they're doing, apparently. Borderlands kicks copious amounts of ass. If you like FPS and you like Diablo-like loot drops and skill trees, then by all means, invest in Borderlands.
Definitely a decent little shooter in the vein of Asteroids. I enjoy it quite a bit.
Right... that game looks absolutely awesome. Starting off 2010 with a gem.
In the past, accessories haven't sold well. I believe MS will package this with every 360 sold starting in the fall/holidays. That will be the price cut this year.
The question is: how do they get this into the hands of every existing 360 owner? It's gotta be priced right, and it's gotta have something compelling.
Does this mean 360 wins? No. Does it help keep the 360 relevant beyond 2010? Probably. It means MSFT recognizes that they can only sell so many 360s to the...
