I think Microsoft changed their tactics at last year's E3. They are not interested in talking about games that are a year or two away, because they know Sony is doing that and when the game gets delayed, then there's a lot of flack. So last year at E3 they talked only about games that were shipping in 2007. And at this year's Gamer's Day they talked about games that are shipping in 2008.

So what's for 2009? They're not going to talk about it yet. They *might* give us some clue a...

Yes, nice Jedi mindtrick there. Does that mean this is the list we're looking for, but we're too dimwitted to see it?

What is the real list and when is it coming... dammit.

... does anyone care? This game looks mediocre at best. The only reason to port it will be to try and lull 360 owners into an erroneous purchase. Best to keep it on the PS3, where they have fewer quality games. Of course, this isn't one of them.

This is a boring prediction. There's nothing here that pushes the envelope. Some of these things could be worked into existing 360s -- call it an Xbox 360 Ultimate.

I suspect the next Xbox console won't come until 2010 or 2011. It's likely that Xbox 360 will continue to hold a small lead over PS3 worldwide through the end of 2008, though the gap is getting smaller each month.

But really, for the next Xbox to generate any kind of excitement, it has to be a big deal, ...

I played through the bank escape portion of the demo. First, I thought the takedowns were totally cool. They weren't always the same, and the use of the environment to knock the guy out was well done. I agree with Loot Ninja's post in that I see the hand-to-hand becoming repetitive, but you can overlook that if the takedown brings a different conclusion. Second, I found the transitions from gameplay to timed-button sequences jarring. I missed the gate a couple of times. Which brings me to my ...

This is definitely an interesting proposal. And it's interesting to see this take on the "dumb terminal" that dominated technology prior to the PC coming along (when all the processing power was done at a central server and the monitor was just that, a GUI interface).

This guy ought to patent his idea, by the way.

Sorry, folks. The Wii is not a next gen machine. It is not competing against the 360 and the PS3. It simply doesn't have the horsepower to be competing with them. At best, it is a Nintendo re-boot of the failed Gamecube. It is competing against the original Xbox and the PS2 in terms of sales.

I loved this game (and Psychonauts). Two of the best games of the last generation, and they got little to no support from the market.

I don't really care who makes it, but a sequel would be on my "must buy" list.

Same for Psychonauts!

Well, IN MY OPINION, COD4 has leapfrogged the competition. I no longer play Halo 3. There isn't anything on the near horizon that I can see that will pull me away from a nightly foray into COD4.

It's *possible* that Battlefield: Bad Company can break into this "top-tier," but given reports coming out of the beta, it looks like DICE will have some work to do to get me to jump ship. Beyond that, there's Gears of War 2.

So in terms of multiplayer, what I'm pl...

Brute Force and "great" do not belong in the same sentence. Unless it's "Brute Force is a great big pile of crap."

Put the disc in the tray, but don't close the tray. Sit on your couch and do your dashboard thing, then hit the "Close Tray" button when you want to play.

Good Lord, I know we're not getting any decent games in April except for GTA IV, and May is looking sparse... can someone get us a demo of something? Where's the Too Human demo that was promised in 1Q? How about a demo for Viking, a game that appears to be a fairly love it/hate it in the reviews... this game could benefit from a demo to let the users get a feel for it before plunking down $60. Universe at War and Dark Sector, too, would benefit from a demo.

And how about some tra...

I couldn't finish the first one. Hell, I can't even finish the DS version. This one is definitely on my "avoid" list, so that I can keep from throwing another controller around the room.

I'm surprised to see Acer take this tack. I really think they're looking for the PC developers to rally around a single spec, rather than have to fine-tune games for a myriad of PC configurations. But they've missed the mark. Frankly, a PC "console" still isn't going to be suit the many out there who want to build their own, overclock it, etc.

In other words, if Acer is looking for PC game companies to rally to this "console" as a single spec to focus on, th...

I passed up Wipeout. I never really got into that franchise and other than the Burnout series, racing has simply become a genre I don't play very much.

Patapon is fun... and frustrating. You really need to build up your army. For $20 it was worth it, but I wonder if I'll actually finish it.

I played the GoW demo and picked up the full game today.

The PSP is officially dusted off... at least for a little while.

The DS is dusted off to...

The lack of DLC is worrying, but seeing a mid-year release with an Aerosmith bent suggests that a lot of the DLC is being funneled into that release. In other words, no regular DLC for GH3, but go ahead and buy GH:Aerosmith in June and get a whole mess of songs.

I really love that RB has weekly DLC. I wish GH3 was stepping up to the plate, but the game is collecting dust at this point.
