@White Sharingan
Oh, I agree there. They haven't been really consistant, that's for sure. For example, the move to revive DK and Kirby came too late IMO. If it happened earlier, we would already be on the second Wii entry already.
Another thing they could have done is put DK on the Mario pattern this Gen. By that I mean a mix of 2D and 3D titles. DK64 was popular enough to at least try this.
So yeah, they could have done more in...
As long as Nintendo's core is present(Mario, Zelda, Metroid, DK, Kirby, etc) Then the Wii will always have a place in my gaming rotation. I grew up on these franchises, and I have no plans to stop playing them now. For example, I still play Mario Kart, NSMB Wii, and the Galaxy games very regularly.
Although, I am pretty pissed that Nintendo didn't release a new Mario Golf or Mario Tennis game. Those two series of games were awesome.
Lucky...
The two gamestops in my area aren't taking preorders. Just called them both.
Lol, I liked that little anology. Made me chuckle.
On a serious note, I agree with the message. GT games require time. It's far from "Pick up and play".
Exactly. But with all the hype leading up to the release, there's going to be a lot of "100 on metacritic or bust" type comments around here.
That said, I'm very surprised to not see at least a 9 from IGN. They almost always play it safe with major releases.
And unfortunatly, an 8.5 doesn't mean as much as it used to due to sites handing out 10's all over the place.
The actual score isn't that bad at all. I haven't read the review since I don't trust google translated articals, but a 5/6 isn't that bad IMO.
Personally, I view anything above an 8 as a good score. That's why it's funny IMO to see people trashing a game for failing to get the perfect score. Of course, most of this has to do with reviewers handing out 10's like candy. Personally, I have a VERY high standard in terms of when or when not to give s...
Great News!!
Oblivion is still in my top 5 games this generation. It essentially marked the beginning of next gen console gaming. I have yet to see a game as mammoth as Oblivion.
And the 5th one will probably be even bigger...
The series is a time killer, too. I put over 100 hours each into 3 seperate files.
Exactly. ANY company(be it Sony, Nintendo or MS) would be insane if they confirm the existance of another console during a huge marketing push, like MS/Sony are doing with Kinect/Move.
It's just PR babble.
Exactly. An uncharted 3 announcement would be a boring reveal IMO considering that EVERYBODY knows it's happening. I would rather it be something out of left field that takes everybody by surprise. FFVII remake and MGS5 are good examples of a surprise megaton announcement.
We're going to see a lot of them. Hell, we still see the stupid "360 vs. PS3" articles even though there's nothing to talk about anymore. Just the same points and counter points...
We'll see the same thing with these types of articals, too.
From what I gathered, there's only going to be one. The one unveiled at the VGA's and the one shown on the 12th are going to be the same game.
For something that would require a seperate event, it has to be huge. If it's as big as I think it is(MGS5, FFVII remake calibur announcement), then the VGA's scored a megaton, even if it's only a partial reveal.
Exactly. I've been through this dance many times before. 'Major' this and 'Huge' that, only to have the actual reveal be a big letdown.
I would really appreciate a new Hot Shots Golf game. It would make a lot of sense, actually.
We'll see how 'big' this is. I doubt it's going to be anything high profile. At least I would think that they wouldn't unveil something huge in a random way like this.
At least Mario had Super Mario Galaxy. That game had MANY things that were new to the series. People who make Mario comments like this seem to omit or forget about Galaxy. Compare the Gameplay elements of SMG 1 and 2 to other Mario Games. It's crazy to say that there's little difference.
The only major thing it retains is the collecting stars aspect.
Not really. If anything they're experiencing a comeback of sorts.
NSMB and NSMB Wii are system sellers for their respective platforms. Epic Yarn and DKC Returns look like solid entries that revive their respective franchises.
There are other non-nintendo examples, as well.
Stupid moves like this only add fuel to the media hate fire.
Things like this hurt the image of the game industry, supporting the violent games=killing simulator school of thought. I know it's a user made mod, but it won't make a damn difference to Fox News and the like.
Wow, shocker. It's right up there with revalations like the sky is blue, and 1+1 is in fact actually 2.
All jokes aside, a very large number of people knew this was coming. It's a pretty easy conclusion to come to given the numbers from the previous entries in the series. (Don't know how 2 & 3 sold, though).
Overrated by PC standards, maybe. But as far as console games go you simply cannot deny the impact it had on that portion of the industry. It created a precedent for the console shooters we see today.
I knew it had to be a fake when my gamestop said it wasn't even in the system.
