Well, I think we know one thing. Whoever does win GOTY isn't going to sweep like U2 did last year. There's just too much competition this year.

The Halo game won't win GOTY. The halo series isn't known for sweeping up GOTY'S left and right. My pick is Mass Effect 2, but only time will tell.
There's always one game I look out for each year but it never shows up. That game is a Final Fantasy 7 remake. Given how Mediocre SE has been lately, though, I think it's best saved for later.
Awesome! I can't wait for this. The fable series is always fun. Also it looks like we're not going to see a delay, which is amazing because Molyneux is an admitted perfectionist. I thought for sure it was going to get pushed back a month or two, like the first 2 games.
Yes! Solid numbers for first day. It didn't do the 2 million+ on day one, but no games except the halo series and MW2 can pull that crap.

Mass effect 2 just basically matched ME1's lifetime sales in the first week! That's an incredible start for an incredible game. If I had to guess, I think ME2 will have about 5 million sold lifetime. ME2 has been a critical and commercial success. Congrats bioware, you deserve it.
Wow! I knew it was doing well, but the second highest rated 360 game!? I'm surprised, but it's metacritic score is justified. I'm about 5 hours in to the game, and they greatly improved the combat and framerate/ texture pop-in issues. Bioware listened to the complaints ME1 got and adressed EVERY last one of them. So with the fixed technical problems, the unrivaled story presentation, and the rich universe, it's no wonder ME2 is scoring widespread acclaim.

Good article and I agree with it. The storytelling in the Mass Effect series blurs the line between movies and games.
Guys, ME2 going to the ps3 would be great. It doesn't matter to me because I'll be playing it on the 360 regardless, but exposing this wonderful game to a new audience could only be good for the series. If more people can realize how great this game is, then I'm all for it.

Mass Effect 2 will indeed be a GOTY contender. I don't think there's any RPG this year that can score higher. FF13 was said to be dissappointing, so I doubt it's going to recieve anything higher than a 9.5. I see nothing in the way of Mass Effect 2 in terms of RPGS this year. I think it's natal related. My guess it will be a new IP built from the ground up to fully take advantage of Natal. Microsoft needs a game like like this. Everything I've seen announced for natal so far is "Game X with natal support". This is fine, but MS really needs a good, hardcore, "Natal game" to prove to it's core audience that Natal won't hinder core games.
Pretty good list, but I still doubt fable 3 will make 2010. Yeah, it's on the list, but considering that fable 1 and 2 were delayed, I'll believe it when I see it. I hope it's right though.
They look pretty good. I can tell the graphics have improved somewhat from Halo 3. That being said, I won't be buying Reach. I never was a Halo fan, and I like more arcade-like shooters such as unreal tournament 3. And it's not like Reach needs my help lol.
