It was always Baldwin who got the ball moving.

/v/ is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaay too disorganized to get something like that up and going.

Baldwin then brought the fight to the corrupt journos and laid the smackdown on them.

Once Baldwin and the Internet Aristocrat dropped based bombs, 4chan got excited and followed along.

Also, take note that 4chan's involvement in GamerGate isn't just 4chan, it's the...

Nice... this is really spreading. Keep up the great work guys.

I'll put it to you this way:

ALL of major gaming media have tried at first to censor the issue by colluding with those behind the scenes to keep these issues from being openly discussed. Reddit's /r/Games and /r/gaming is still on lockdown regarding the breadth of this issue. However, we all know that it's an epic fail to try to censor the entire internet.

A media company known as Silverstring Media was linked to ringing the IGF this year, alleg...

Don't be surprised if this ends up as a terri-bad Hollywood movie a few years from now.

Lindsay Lohan as Zoe Quinn
Shia Labeouf as Eron
Adam Baldwin as Adam Baldwin
Meryl Streep as C.H. Sommers
D.J Qualls as Jason Schreier
Paul Giamatti as Stephen Totila
Vin Diesel as Mundane Matt
Jason Stathom as Total Biscuit
And The Rock as The Internet Aristocrat

Those 600 signatures were bogus.

I haven't had time to do an article about it, but someone broke it down and found that there were a lot of bogus names and entries on that list.

Trying to prioritize the right stuff for the sake of shifting narrative.

Anyway, yeah I saw that post on /v/. Great stuff. I really hope people take that advice and ask those PR nicely.

Also, working with some other writers whose editors won't...

lol @ gamerfan0909 and Death...

You've got to love it when they come up with these excuses to leave it all alone. As if turning a blind eye makes it all better. Like what happened with the housing crisis, or when people turned a blind-eye to corporations outsourcing jobs overseas (lovely where that got us here in the U.S.,) or how people turned a blind-eye to the corruption with banks and now we're trillions of dollars in debt, losing jobs by the second and losing homes...

Dude, this is a $70 billion dollar industry. That's money.

LIVES ARE IMPACTED. You may not see it that way but it's part of an ecology of human society. People take care of families and raise kids based on their jobs in the industry. These jobs are DIRECTLY affected by decisions some people make that deals with falsified review scores, back-alley deals and cronyism.

If some dev had a good game and was cheated out of it because of the IGF's scandal...

@shammgod

I honestly can't answer that question. I hate to say that, I really do.

For now it looks like the smaller sites are the most trustworthy; they have a lot to gain and a lot to lose if they screw up just once.

The larger sites all look to me to be in collusion, so I'm terribly leery about anything they do.

I admit that the co-founder of the Escapist seems like a great guy from what little he's said about t...

It exposes who you can and cannot trust in this industry.

It's good to know who the bad guys are, at least.

Also, I don't like supporting corrupt corps. So let the fire rise... I want to see who else gets burned out of the house of cronyism.

Agreed.

I don't understand this "GamerGate is misogynist" angle when there's a bunch of dudes being called out, too.

Why is everyone also completely ignoring IGF chairman Brandon Boyer and the attachment to the corrupt Silverstring Media? It's not just Maya Kramer -- she may have been a catalyst -- but it's the whole freaking organization.

I'm beginning to understand this blackout now -- why gaming media refuses...

Awesome. Glad to see more coverage on this.

The narrative is changing as the fire rises.

lol... Ian Miles Cheong... this guy was already caught red-handed in previous scandals and he's the EIC for the site who slandered TFYC.

Not all that surprising, eh?

But yeah, this is all marketing 101 tactics now: divert and divide.

I wish another site with GNews authority would do regular updates on this stuff so the narrative wouldn't be so muddied with all the bootlegged crooks controlling the flow.

I feel like ...

Also, I'd like to add that I'm glad smaller sites are stepping up to the plate and calling out the BS.

This has gone on for way too long and the ivory tower aristocrats thought they were untouchable.

It's good to know that when it matters the gaming community can unite against this plague of corruption.

Actually, TFYC backed down because they thought that distancing themselves from Quinn would enable them to get some coverage.

They had a lawyer-approved statement drafted up hoping that "burying the hatchet" would get them out of the doghouse with major media outlets.

It didn't work.

Now TFYC -- even after conceding and hoping to move on -- are still being attacked by games media.

I'm not saying they're ...

That's fine and all. But when the gatekeepers of information dictate what the public can know, who ensures that the gatekeepers stay the course?

I'm not an arbitrator, I'm just pointing out an obvious flaw from one of the groups of people who demonized me and every other gamer out there because we didn't roll over and die.

When an authority with power decides to push, it should always be in the best interest of all those effected to give up no...

It's a good thing I'm a gamer doing my duty.

Maybe this will incite some real journalists to do THEIR jobs for once and maybe us gamers can get back to playing games (we're all still waiting for a complete expose on TFYC and who carried out the doxxing and shutdown the first time around).

So... uh... have you done anything about TFYC or are you just going to sit back and judge others?

EDIT: And before you fire back and say "A...

Also, it proves them wrong:
opposite of them we're willing to hear them out.

Instead of censoring their opinions we'll let it ride.

It's too bad they can't say the same, what with all the closed-threads, removed posts, blocked, banned and barred users.

I wonder how well that's going to work out for them when the sponsors start pulling out?

Speaking of sponsors...

Wow, didn't catch that the first time around (gotta be honest, there's a lot of documents and I'm really pressed for time).

I'll need to further look into that. Thanks for bridging this connection. I will add this to the folder (it's now over 362mb full of documents, images., etc.) The rabbit hole grows deeper.

There were previous mentions about their connections with GDC but it was flimsy at best. I think this info could really help make...
