Except the retailer didn't choose to not sell the game, the retailer reacted to a bogus petition that lied about GTA V.

You might want to read up on the story first before jumping to conclusions.

As fried goat pointed out:
How does getting GTA V removed from store shelves help gamers when this was the very thing gamers were afraid of from radical social justice warrior groups?

Consumers taking action in GG are because they have NO OTHER OPTIONS. The media are corrupt, and whenever GG went to the media to get the story out, they all twisted the story into lies. How else do you get someone to listen other than to go to the advertisers?

Addition...

"[They] ain't gonna take your games away" Jim Sterling said...

Apparently they just want to take away the characters in the games.

With Smedley saying that they won't be able to touch DayZ in the quality department at launch, it's hard for me to see H1Z1 catching up to DayZ, surpassing it and ending it.

Too bad that a lot of people get lured by click-bait and link networks.

Sometimes you'll see the title of an article and since it's sponsored or aggregated through stuff like Zerg or what have you, the user clicks in unbeknownst that they're supporting a crappy click-bait site they're trying to avoid.

I've made that mistake a few times, because sometimes you'll just see the headline but have no idea where the article actually leads.

You do know that the guy who runs Feminist Frequency and writes for Anita supports GTA V being banned right?

It's literally linked right there in the article.

It's hard to believe that gamers are defending one of the biggest properties being taking off shelves due to a radical social movement.

I can't believe there are people who attacked Jack Thompson for wanting to do the same thing, but are now giving a free pass to the same...

Except... GTA V is been out for an entire year already. Why wasn't it banned before?

"I suppose that we do slightly have ourselves to blame, as these things wouldn't ever happen if we stood up to the publishers, but even still this is just completely wrong."

I put the onus on the game reviewers and so-called journalists. It's their job to take these publishers to task, and each time they make excuses or brush it off as if it's still a consumer issue to solve.

It wasn't the consumers who reported on Aliens Colonial Mari...

The game looks beautiful. Never would have guessed it was on mobile devices unless they said so.

You're knocking these out of the ballpark.

It's good to know you're still educating people about this stuff because there are a lot of places still parroting the false narrative "they don't want to take away your games!"

That may or may not be true, but they sure as heck seem to want to take away certain freedoms that may affect what games we get to play.

Thanks.

Gamers may need to level-up, though. There are talks of going to the senate over GG and addressing online harassment.

Some people are calling it a push for SOPA 2.0.

So using stuff like Ben Kuchera's GJP nepotism as ammo may help in red-pilling neutrals to let them know that GG isn't a harassment campaign.

Mainstream media is compromised by the higher-ups.
http://blogjob.com/oneangry...

Even when we have honest journalists from these major websites and news outlets, their producers and network overseers are corrupt to the bone.

GGers are fighting against super-villain corruption in network media.

I think you answered your observation.

We all know IGN has some dirty crap to hide, but there's no hard proof of it. IGN, in an attempt to either avoid Operation Disrespectful Nod or to prevent the diggers from digging, have simply said they'll consent to the demands of making their code of ethics and disclosure policies public.

I had to contact him THROUGH his employer.

If he had another publicly available e-mail, I would have used it.

It's called getting the facts, ace.

If he had an explanation then he could answer for himself. That's what you do when you report a story: you talk to everyone involved, including the alleged perpetrator.

Spreading someone's private information against their will can have legal consequences.

I love the part where Totilo loses spaghetti and skips over the Game Journo Pros blacklisting Allistair.

Ha, I tuned in just to hear how Stephen was going to spin that one. He couldn't.

Yeah, I agree.

I used to play a ton of wrestling games during the 32-bit era because we had things like Powermove Pro-Wrestling, and WCW vs the World (one of my favorites) and Acclaim's WWF Raw and WWF Attitude. We also had the Fire Pro series on the Saturn and PSX. Not to mention the WCW games from EA.

There was a huge variety back then due to competition and a lot of developers trying something new with the genre.

I think some people disagreed with you without fully understanding what you're standing.

I get it, though. You make a good point.

None of this situation is black or white. There's a lot of shades of gray.

It was buried.

Facts, evidence and exposure of illegal activity from game journalists isn't something they want you to know about.
