Of course they do. They're scams designed to help bolster pre-release revenue for the publishers. There's no benefit for the end-user pre-ordering stuff.

Yeah there are some people who will argue that they get special launch goodies or retailer specific DLC, but they seem to forget that ALL pre-order DLC bonuses are just cut from the main game and resold to you. It's BS and it needs to die.

Son, you better hope GamerGate wipes them out then. Otherwise this will also be known as the last great era of gaming before it got "diversified" like the autocracy in George Orwell's 1984.

You know what's funny? Even if you did play a female protagonist in the story mode of CoD... you'd never know it or be able to actually tell... being that it's in first person and all.

Even with a generic name, what would it matter if you can't see who you're playing?

But you're right... these people are crazy.

So no mention of Kuchera bullying Tito into shutting down the Escapist forums to prevent discussion from fostering?

No mention of the multiple occasions of blacklisting by Kucher and Orland's secret list of the Game Journo Pros?

No mention of the journalist who failed to report that 40,000 consumers had their personal information stolen because they were dating an Electronic Arts' rep and they didn't want to damage the company's image by repor...

It's more like people rallying against the anti-gamers.

A lot of GamerGate consumers rallied to support the game and a lot of pro-free speech advocates rallied to support the game.

Essentially, a lot of the SJWs and anti-gamer media websites that have been slandering the community caused people to get pissed enough to vote for the game.

I know their antics caused me to even vote for the game, since they set a very dangerous precedent by ...

They're nearly already halfway through eighth-gen (Wii U came out in 2012). They SHOULD be working on a new console by now if they want it ready to announce by 2016 and launch in 2017.

Nintendo's always been on a five-year cycle. They're doing it right if they're already working on their new hardware.

I'm posting facts... like the fact Patrick Klepek broke anti-trust laws.

Any respectable outlet would own up to breaching a federal law. Only a fool would run and hide.

No worries, we've contacted the FTC/FBI. They'll decide if Klepek's actions were respectable. ;)

I know right?

I'm curious how well this game will run on the Xbox One after all the optimization.

Kind of in the same boat as you. My anticipation isn't quite as high for 2015 because of the backlog. I also have a ton of games I've never even played in my possession, which is embarrassing.

Son, cheats and exploits have existed since the dawn of time.

During the ancient days of Checkers someone would say "Hey, look over there!" and then they would cheat.

More recently, did you not forget about Game Genie and Game Shark? People have been cheating since forever.

"Well, did you actually bother to... try to understand what I said ? Let me reformulate: IF those were actually the worst of the year, this would be the best year ever..."

I disagree on the basis that a lot of these games launched broken. I forgot to mention that, but they're also the worst of the year for being broken out of the box. Anti-consumer antics from pubs make it hard for me to rate their products high (i.e,. The Crew, Driveclube, AC: Unity, etc,.)

If you consider a bunch of games that launched incomplete, broken or in dire need of patches the "best year ever" then I would hate to see what your "worst of" list looks like.

Just seems like a lot of people bought into hype this year. There were no games that really took any steps toward doing anything we haven't seen a thousand and one times before.

I've repeatedly mentioned that Destiny doesn't even have more features than ...

It's antitrust because the major media powers are manipulating the market through the private GJP e-mail list.

Collusion to sway the market can be viewed as illegal depending on what the courts say.

It doesn't matter if people don't think it's not important, the major media publications colluding in private to determine career hirings, firings and blacklisting is considered an antitrust violation when those sites have enough power to sway the ...

Well, there are antitrust examples relating to media entertainment to fit exactly what happened here.

From the Justice Department website.
"I want to emphasize that one of the fundamental principles underlying all Section 2 analysis is that the mere possession of monopoly power does not violate Section 2. Instead, the statute applies only to monopolies that are acquired or maintained by virtue of a firm's unreasonably exclusionary conduct."

People would definitely need to notify the FTC first.

I find it funny that none of them have had anything to say about this and could have very well avoided all of this by being honest about what was really going on way back in August.

Valve isn't publishing it though. The devs self-publish through Greenlight.

Steam is just the distribution outlet. Valve has no more association with Hatred than they do with GTA, Giana Sisters or any other game currently sold on their storefront that they didn't develop.

Removing the game because of a loud, vocal minority was silly in the first place because the game has nothing to do with Valve, and if they were going to pull Hatred then they would...

I can't wait to see the tears of the Game Journo Pros now that Valve has put their weight behind the words of gamers.

The GJP's time is limited... hopefully they fall sooner rather than later. It's good to see gamers pull out a win against censorship from the corrupt games media.

I don't agree with the content in Hatred but banning it sets a massive precedent for other smaller devs to not even try to be risky in any way.

So then why allow Postal up there? Both games are identical, literally. The whole goal in the first Postal was to kill civilians, police, etc., until you cleared the level.

Valve has a right to pull any game they want, but why the inconsistency?

If the game breaks the ToS, they owe it to the community to explain why given that the whole point of Greenlight was so the community could "green light" games.

Not only did they take away a...

Chris Plante, one of the members of the Game Journo Pros, was recently promoted to The Verge.

Vox.com, a subsidiary of Vox Media, has Ezra Klein as the editor-in-chief...

Ezra Klein was the creator of the JournoList, the political version of Game Journo Pros. Oh yeah, and the Game Journo Pros was LITERALLY based on JournoList.

There's an incestuous clique controlling our media. I've already complained to the higher ups at various sit...
