Either route works, but it is favourable to developers if you have experience with professional tools. Indie developing is very risky and not everyone is willing to take that risk.
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you. 640x480 is NOT nearly identical to 1280x720. Due to pixel count and aspect ratio. 1080p is not the standard for any game on a console. Even if you can't scale it to 1080p, the difference in visual quality will be minimal without an expensive scaler (which the PS3 does not have, nor does the 360).
"It doesn't boot in 1080P so you are stuck in 720P and if you'd like to compare 480P to 720P... Very negligible."
Really...
1280x720 = 921600 pixels
640x480 = 307200 pixels
Triple the pixel count is negligible? Maybe the difference between 720p and 480p is negligible to those who don't know what they're talking about.. While I'd also love to see more games at 1080p, the current generation of consoles has trouble rendering at that resolut...
Depending on the cost, I would not doubt that people would be willing to pay for the mod tools if this game remains popular. Making mods for games is a great way to build up a portfolio and eventually land a job in the industry.
Actually, ME2 is better on PC than 360. The reason the PC score isn't as high is because PC owners have higher standards.
That article was flamebait how? Maybe the other articles are but this one just points out a bunch of details people seem to have forgotten since the PS2 era.
I'd consider a flamebait article to be praising one console/game/etc and bashing the other, but not once in this article did they do that. You want flamebait, Jim Sterling says hello.
I disagree with your question.
Really weak sales for Jeanne d'Arc, such a good game too. If you like games like FF Tactics, this game is a must buy.
I've never read anything about being able to track 4 players at once. In fact, the articles I have read mentioned the Natal software taking up about 10-15% of the 360's resources, and you can bet that they would have been touting 4 players simultaneously as a feature from the get go. And none of the promotional videos from E3 about natal depicted more than one person being tracked at the same time.
Doesn't anyone else feel that basing their success solely on their price tags is completely ridiculous?
Without the software, these motion controls are absolutely useless. It wasn't just the fact that the Wii had motion controls that made it so popular, it was stuff like Wii Play and Wii Sports that got people interested.
Even then, he never discusses multiplayer with the devices. How many people can be tracked at once on Natal and how does it impact the 360's perf...

LOL!! IGNORED!!!
All the codes are here: http://www.gamerzines.com/g...
It's Jim Sterling.. most of his articles are pure flamebait. He loves to hate on the PS3, and half the things he says are just blatantly idiotic. He is a essentially the opposite of a good games journalist, if you consider a good games journalist to be as unbiased as possible.
And if it does I will have lost faith in humanity. At this point if anyone picks it up its because it's an apple product.
@mrv321 that graph does not show anything like what you think it shows. Spin speed has EVERYTHING to do with read speeds. All that graph does is compare blu-ray's speed per multiplier vs minimum and maximum read speeds at 12X for DVD. I know where you got that graph from: http://www.gamespot.com/pag...
The first graph would do better in showing you speed dif...
@deadreckoning:
What you think PS3 fanboys say or think is pretty skewed. So a few random fanboys spew things and suddenly that's how they all think?
Not to mention, a journalist should really not be saying things similar to what "fanboys" say. Journalists should be far more non-biased. You really shouldn't believe that its okay for a journalist to act like a fanboy. The people that read these articles come from different opinions, and that should be consid...
Even if MS were to launch the 360 successor, I really don't think it will have that big of an impact. Games look ridiculously good now, its reaching a point where it is hard for more casual gamers to distinguish, or even care about the differences. Those of us more interested in the graphics will easily be able to tell but the majority of people will not (or simply won't care). With this generation, we did a huge jump, from SD to HD on the consoles and online gaming became a lot more solidifi...
Yep, we don't need more HHGs. HHG has the flamebait end covered already.
Short answer to the article: No.
Not entirely true, you need to own the games you make the mod for, so technically the license to create custom content is included with the game.
