Have a wee dram

I went to see Avatar at the weekend and I think it's pretty safe to say that 3D is no longer a gimmick, it's not about that one moment in the whole movie when the shark bursts through the glass.

Old 3D seemed to be about things coming at you where as the new tech is about depth, you actually feel as if you are looking into the screen rather than just at it.

New 3D has the ability to add a new level of immersion to every scene of a movie. A movie doesn't HAVE to be he...

I agree that it is far too easy to score lob shots but I think it's only partly due to the fault of the keeper. The keeper does seem to come off his line rather early and when you haven't pressed triangle for him to do so, but in reality when an attacker is through on goal with only the keeper to beat that is what the keeper will always do.
The change they seem to have made for FIFA 10 is the sensitivity of the attackers lob shot. When you tried to lob the keeper in other releases it wa...

I love football games and I do buy the new release every year, either FIFA or PES, whichever one is on top of it's game at the time.
However, I do agree with you that there is no need to release a new version every year. The changes implemented don't justify a whole new game. In this day and age of DLC, it seems a logical step to simply offer upgrades for the titles and release a full version every 3 years or so.
There is also the upcoming FIFA World Cup game due for release at t...

I said Wipeout is more difficult than Mario Kart. What has the speed of F-zero got to do with anything?

"Wipe has great art yet the game play is limited and slow"

Slow? Phantom ain't slow, zone 40 and beyond definitely ain't slow. Wipeout also has more varied game modes than Mario Kart so not really sure what you're on about at all.

Just for the record - I love Mario Kart Wii, it is still one of my favourite games this gen (I even prefer it to ...

"mario kart which would frustrate many of the so called hardcore that post here due to it's difficulty online"

I used to have a wii and mario kart is the only game i miss but my sister has a wii so when i visit her i get my fix. I'm also in the mod nation racers beta so I know i will finally have my PS3 version, the only downside I found with mario kart was the limited number of tracks but in mod nation racers the tracks are only limited by your imagination.
I ...

One of my favourite PSN titles. Great value for money, loads of game modes, online hustling is cool and those balls are just so damn shiny. There's also snooker DLC coming soon.
One niggle is the AI difficulty - amateur is far to easy yet the leap to medium is huge, some of the shots the medium AI pulls off are just ridiculous and when playing the pro AI you just can't miss a shot otherwise they'll clear up.
The other niggle is no voice chat, but there is the custom soundtrack ...

Playstation 3, Xbox 360 & Nintendo Wii are all in the same league.
Just like Manchester United, Liverpool & Portsmouth are all in the Premiership ;)

To Anyone who may know,
Is the Mod Nation Racers Beta still available? I won't be home for another half hour or so, what do you think my chances are of getting in?

Edit:
Thanks Dustgavin, should be home in about 10 mins.

"If this game wasn't an exclusive it would be getting zero attention paid to it, but instead it is being hyped like the second coming."

I don't see anything close to this level of hype anywhere. From what I see MAG has a modest fanbase, just like most games, even Lair and Too Human have fans.
From the comments I've read on MAG related stories alot of PS3 owners seem to be dismissing it and are calling Heavy Rain the first AAA exlcusive of 2010.

You seem to have made the assumption that he meant "create a new game studio" and didn't someone once say that "assumption is the mother of all f*** ups"?

Pope said "instead of increasing your first party"
That to me could easily mean increasing the size of an existing studio, I wonder how many salaries that money could have paid?

The money for that beer could have gone towards your new car. You've got to start somewhere.

"all I'm saying is it just isn't up to the quality of Uncharted 2, what would you rather having it compared to MAG's ominous poor review scores"

How can you compare Heavy Rain to a TPS or an online FPS? There are going to be alot of people who are going to prefer Heavy Rain to UC2 or MAG to Heavy Rain, they are all very different games.
You're comments are totally pointless.

You should stop being so niave Starchild.

This is the way I see it:

The 360 is most 3rd party developers console of choice this gen, easy to develop for and their software sells well on it.
Microsoft are using Natal to try to tap into the casual market as Nintendo have shown there is big bucks to be made here.

Whether Natal works as advertised or not is not really a concern for Microsoft or the developers, the fact that it will appeal to th...

I have no doubt that Natal will sell better than the PS wands, I think the interest Natal has attracted since E3 is an indication of this.

However, I don't understand why so many people in these comment sections care? Natal will be aimed at casuals there has been no evidence so far to indicate that it will satisfy real gamers and real gamers are what you all claim to be, right? Natal will probably do well for Microsoft but what do you honestly expect it to do for YOU?

It is a matter of preference and I prefer to play something else.

I'm assuming Hustle Kings was released too late to be considered because it is without doubt my favourite PSN game of the year second only to Wipeout as favourite PSN game to date.
The game has so many modes and those shiny balls are just gorgeous. At £6.29 it is fantastic value. Only downside is no voice chat when playing online, hopefully this can be remedied with a patch.

"Crappy online service"? Dowloadable games and movies, Vidzone, Home, BBC i-player, Internet Browser etc. and all free. Crappy???

"with unstable online"? I have very rarely had problems like disconnections etc and I play wirelessly which, BTW comes as standard with PS3.

"no dedicated trophy support for games"? Not sure what you mean by this. But if you mean some games don't have trophies as far as I'm aware every game released after ...

As I played through the first half of the game I too felt that it was nothing special. The second half is so much better though, from the oil rig mission onwards.

PES 4 and 5 were the best in the series. Although PES 2010 isn't as great as them it's still more fun than FIFA. I haven't played FIFA 2010 but I do have FIFA 2009 and gameplay-wise it's very dull.

The best football game this gen IMO is PES wii. If those controls are implemented in the PS3 version of PES 2011 when Sonys motion controls are introduced then PES will be back on top.
