Did Niko Bellic and Master Chief gang bang this guy's wife or something? He's got a major joystick up his ass.
It's probably gonna be pretty difficult considering Skyrim features things likes cannibalism, marriage (sex?), and dismemberment as key parts of the gameplay. Taking them out isn't gonna be easy and unfortunately violence in video games is a lose/lose situation for the developers. If they tone down the violence and lose the blood then they're accused of misrepresenting the consequences of violence, when they feature realistic gore it's too graphic. They might as well pick one,...
Well there was this crazy idea back in the old days of the gaming industry when it was believed - and bear with me here, this is where a lot of people get lost - that gamers had IQ scores that ventured in triple digits. As such cover systems were unnecessary because concepts like "crouch behind wall to avoid being shot" wasn't considered to be beyond a player's grasp. Instead the devs gave us a "crouch" button and sometimes a "lean" button and we'd pr...
I enjoyed new vegas, it just felt that by the time I played it I'd already had 3 playthroughs on fallout 3. So I've got 300 hours of fallout clocked before I even pick it up making it feel a little late to the party. And yeah sure new vegas is different to fallout 3 but it's the same engine, same feel and same idea. New Vegas is basically a professional total conversion for fallout 3, so I never really found myself sinking into it the usual number of hours I might sink into oblivi...
I swear to God by the time I read every single skyrim related headline on n4g I might as well have just played the damn thing. Something like this would have been sweet to find out by surprise.
Yeah but if we keep buying the games we're just telling them it's okay, and I don't consider origin to be okay. It's one thing to offer a competitive service but it's another to offer a WORSE competitive service and then force you to use it to play a big release.
EA can do whatever they want but if they think they've got better blood than valve they're loopy. Right now I look at EA and I see dragon age II, I see mass effect 3 wearing marcus fenix&...
I would punch my way through a nursery to have a working copy of skyrim right now... let alone the special edition.
I understand the industry's overall concern regarding Steam's monopoly over digital sales on the PC but rather than creating a service which is significantly more intrusive and generally much much worse, why don't they try offering something better?
But that's such a crazy thought. Why do they need to work to offer us a better product when we'll buy it anyway? Jesus... I remember a time when games were made to be games, now every game EA releases is a tact...
It's in movies and novels like no tomorrow, so why not video games?
I understand it's not a nice pill to swallow but that's not an artist's job. If you don't like a rape scene then congratulations, you're normal. Sometimes a storyline has to touch upon nasty things to achieve something. Unfortunately it's a part of life and it's a part of our culture. Maybe instead of throwing our toys down everytime rape pops up in a game we should realize tha...
Yeah there's no hacking on consoles what so ever.
There used to be a time where PC gamers just had customer controlled servers. That way any hackers were manually booted by a rotation of selected admins who were constantly present...but they got rid of that in favour of trying to make PC gaming more digestible to the glorious console market. All dedicated servers now belong to the devs and we rely on unreliable software to do the job instead.
Which is w...
They shot it in the head by making it 3rd person. If I want a violent, silly 3rd person sandbox game there's plenty of 'em that do it much better.
Then how come I'm waiting and still having to press start to enter the main menu on half my God damned games?
What upsets me isn't the delay. It's the way that coming up to the release the PC version is talked about completely normally. The game is advertized as coming out a certain date and it's coming out on ALL platforms. If a PC gamer and a PS3 gamer wanna get psyched they watch the same trailer for the same game. But when the air gets hot and the time starts to come and it's almost always a month (or in ubisofts case three freakin' days) before and they suddenly turn around a...
Thirty four people need to get a sense of perspective.
You're point remains a tad moot. I'm not debating the legality I'm just saying they should just give up referring to the process as "purchases" and just admit they're offering a glorified renting service.
Cut the crap and just admit that we're renting and not buying, okay EA?
As a PC gamer I certainly sympathize with what you're saying. We've seen nothing but 360 footage and the fact they're getting the DLC earlier is so fucking annoying. Platform preference is incredibly unfair. I wouldn't mind if all 3 platforms had equal treatment but it's clear the 360 is getting favoured above and beyond ps3 and pc.
Firstly my argument isn't that pirates don't buy games, it's that they shouldn't be perceived as potential customers. The majority of them aren't and I'm telling you right now that no pirate on Earth goes, "Oh look, I can't pirate this game. I'll just pop down to the local store to buy it instead."
They wait until it's a pound on sale, or until it CAN be pirated.
Also there's a distinction between car theft ...
Yeah because the logic that pirates download games INSTEAD of buying it makes total sense. You know what happens if a pirate can't download a game? They don't play it, at least until it goes on sale for 1.75 used.
So how do these people affect sales exactly? They're not potential customers. If anything these usrs will contribute to pre-review hype by providing legitimate opinions. (Especially true for anywhere with a release delay, e.g. Europe).

I don't think they're being particularly sexist, no more than any movie with a particularly attractive female lead. But I do find it irritating that "sexy" is synonymous with "tits" in modern video games. Breasts might be a feature of how attractive a woman is but if you want to create a sexy character there are better ways than giving her a massive bust. Arkham city, however, is far from the only party guilty of this sin so it's not really fair to only call th...
