News international confuses me. One minute they're lowering themselves through ceiling panels to steal an MP's bath towel so they can prove he has super AIDS from having sex with a chicken and the next minute they can't be bothered to google a few studies so just make shit up. There's plenty of idiots out there they could have actually interviewed who would have said anything they wanted.
Gracias mon ami!
The reality is that studies don't prove anything. In fact in psychological research it's a big no-no to say that your study proves anything. All a study can ever do is give evidence in support of a hypothesis - and frankly this study confirms nothing new.
There IS a casual relationship between high consumers of violent media and high incidents of violence in real life settings, that is statistical fact, as is the relationship between heightened aggression and playing ...
In my opinion skyrim needs no killer. It hits buttons that few other RPGs hits and it doesn't really sit in the same books as games like fable and especially MMO's. It does it's own thing but I'd welcome competition - but I'd say a really important factor is 1st person combat. The bulk of RPGs are 3rd person and I like the immersive approach of a first person view. Yeah its petty but a little extra work and games like two world II could easily compete with skyrim in terms ...
How about something a little more hardcore than spore? Even sims has its appeal but spore felt like a minigame version of other games sewn together in a horrible way. Personally I'd like to see another ambitious project that needn't suffer the same "casual" ridden fate of spore.
We have the technology to make some cool ideas come to life. Why not have a go at a true God game? Something with a real kick to it that comes out of nowhere.
They do on occasion. I'm an argonian and get a lot of comments in windhelm. It varies quest to quest and I think that some storylines just had to pave over the issue of race or else they'd have to be locked off. In reality an argonian shouldn't really become thane of a city defined by prejudice but at the same time it's that or just lock the quest off to me. I'd rather just accept some things need sway.
I think quake 5 would be interesting. Truth be told I actually enjoyed quake 4, it was a fun good game. Not brilliant or ground breaking, and it was also full of tropes, but it had great graphics, great art direction, enjoyable gunplay, and an actually decent narrative throughout the game.
THe only reason this guy is saying this is because he left bethesda to work on kingdoms of amalur and now they're frustrated that skyrim is the word on everyone's lips, not KoA:R. And yeah it must be shit but bethesda deserve credit and trying to detract from that for personal non-objective reasons isn't very fair. Kingdoms of Amalur doesn't even look like it hits the same buttons as Skyrim - in fact it looks closer to fable - so why doesn't he just let it go and accept th...
A nice approach to the topic compared to the lunacy of ubisoft or ea.
I really liked the night to remember and mind of madness quest. I thought they were really fun and actually made me laugh - the whole idea is that they're silly and bizarre. I never felt like it was a lazy or rushed experience.
Clever article and a good read.
Just appreciate the PC gamers, mod tools on DAY FUCKING ONE because linear games can NOT get away with releasing mod tools months after release. In order for mod tools to be relevent they need to be released while every one is still playing the game - in the case of rage if you played an hour a week you would have completed it and forgotten it long before mod tools came out.
Just give us a LITTLE bit of respect. Like seriously... press start to play is not an okay thing to d...
Kinda figured this - just happy it wasn't cancelled.
Maybe this should be titled Skryim DLC - improvements we wanna see. If we're going to look at elder scrolls 6 then we're basically skipping ahead a whole generation so why not skip ahead two, or three, or fifteen?
What I want to see in elder scrolls XIII. I'd like to see improved combat with less bugs. Who's had enough of the sony BrainStation 3 completely misreading your thoughts of "grind that stone" with "mind that bone" only to have you...
I liked doom 3, pretty well crafted exprience that brought atmosphere to the action. It was never meant to be balls out scary but it was meant to make you feel like the mars base was a real place and I think it was quite well realized.
And saying they've gone downhill since quake 3 isn't really fair - the industry has changed massively in the space between quake 3 and now, it's only fair they'd struggle to remain relevant and there's always a chance they ...
I completely agree. The major authority is just not buying games that you feel violate your rights as a consumer
However I must admit there should be someone the industry answers to on a legal level. I go out and buy a 3DS and when I want to connect it to my own internet connection I'm told I have to allow my information to be passed on. What do I do about this? I can return a christmas present that was bought on sale and just not play it, or sigh and click agree. There w...
I think hl2 should swap out with wolfenstein. Wolf and Doom are very close siblings and in a list with only 10 places it seems odd to have them occupy 2 places while half life gets one mention. Wolfenstein is closer to Doom in gameplay and graphics (story hardly matters) than hl1 is to hl2 in just about any department - graphics, story or gameplay.
I think the only change I'd make is either far cry 1 or stalker would make it on here. Probably stalker would be the most li...
If you're tempted to stream line any of the options available to players, don't. If you're tempted to try and attract the casual market, don't. If you want to make it more accessible, don't. If you want to put in set pieces at the expense of freedom, don't. If you want to put in multiplayer, don't. If you want to use kinect, don't. If you want to put in some sort of alternative visual mode that lets you see through walls, don't.
What shoul...
Because people like us who roam the comments sections on gaming websites are obviously all the pinnacle of human physical perfection.
I'm not religious but I do find myself greatly endeared by the part of the bible that says "don't fucking judge other people, you look like an asshole no matter what". I can't remember the exact scripture that quote came from but it's still a beautiful message.
So we'll live in a reality where everyone gets to play fun games regardless of what console they own? Jesus what a nightmare... what will the fanboys do? Maybe they'll finally disappear up their own asses like the prophecy fortells.
On a second point this is a pretty misinformed view of piracy. Piracy isn't "rampant" and secondly pirates aren't potential customers who don't buy your product because they can get away with it. If everyone can just ...
