Despite differing sales figures, i think that all three consoles are doing just fine. All continue to have quality games released and each individual install base is large enough that they aren't going to die off. All in all, gamers have a good selection of consoles and games to choose from.
Note - For the record i am not pointing fingers at anyone in here because i can't actually remember the people on this site that said it the most.
I think people are coming down hard on this game because so many people were saying how LBP was going to drive PS3 adoption through the roof and mark the end of the 360 and so on so forth. I didn't see that happening for games like Fable 2 on this site, i might have missed it though.
Personally i don't care how the game sells because...
I agree, the commercials are out there but they are vague. The commercials that i have seen do not give you a sense of what the game is about or what it is capable of.
I have to agree with happyface. There was a LBP commercial on last night during Heroes and my girlfriend and her brother were wondering who the little man with the zipper was. As happyface said, they both know who mario and master chief are. More marketing would have helped but i honestly don't believe that the audience is there.
I think the biggest problem is that the target audience for the game isn't that large on the PS3. The quality is there but the crowds aren't. If LBP was released on the Wii sales would be through the roof.
If Sony hand out some licenses i am sure there will be a number of cheap Chinese made players on the market soon to speed up adoption.
I am not trying to be facetious, but how much sony stock do you own? I do agree that this is good though, more adoption means prices will fall.
There are a lot of very aggressive posts in this threat, so i have only one question. Do those people that attack consoles because they think that theirs is better do this for the TV, surround sound system, cable/satellite box, or refrigerator that they also own? If you don't do it for all the other consumer products that you own, then why do it for a games console? I love a good discussion but people are posting (and not only in this thread) for the sole purpose of putting another product...
I know my friend it is rather sad. All i said is that a game doesn't have to be on one disc to be good, and provided an example of a past game that was excellent and it was on 5 discs. I even got an ignore out of that comment so i must have hit a nerve somehow. Are examples bad or something?
It is very true what Jenzo said previously too, a 360 game coming out on multiple discs seems to be greatly opposed by PS3 owners and not 360 owners which strikes me as very strange.
If som...
That is a good deal. I wish we could get deals like that in Canada, but we don't really get good blu ray deals. The cheapest i can find a Panasonic bd35 for is $298.
I did Fallout 3 in less than 5 minutes. I clicked install, went to get some food and upon my return it was done, so i can only give you a ball park figure. Pretty fast though for 5.6 GB i think it was.
You can't say you aren't definitely going to buy it on the PS3 around here, that is N4G suicide :-P
I never said that i enjoyed switching discs, i merely pointed out that it is not as big a deal as some people are making it out to be.
A game has to be on one disc otherwise it will be horrible, plus the game will be even better if that one disc is a blu ray right? Baldur's Gate was awesome and that was 5 CDs, more than one disc is not a big deal.
I agree with your last fact. That is because there are no Wii fanboys, ah to own a system that doesn't have stupid fanboys associated with it. Getting a Wii soon though, so i will :-D
The PS3 and the 360 don't appeal to the majority of people that purchase the Wii. The Wii is great to play with friends that don't normally play video games, and for people that want interactive games like Wii music, Wii fit, and Wii sports.
News regarding sales figures is fairly redundant if you are interested in which console is selling the best. This generation the Wii will sell the most, followed by the 360, and then the PS3.
Very good post ThatCanadianguy420, i have to agree that it really comes down to personal preference. Personally i find that the PS3 controller feels to small in my hands, but then again i play far more 360 than PS3 so that is probably why.
Holy cow girls, who cares if a game is an exclusive or not? Whether the game is good or bad is what matters. When you go on and on about exclusives all the time it just shows how much of a fanboy you are. Gamers like good games, it doesn't matter what platform they are on.
Fantastic comment dude!
