Why do MW3 developers allow gamers walking on very narrow surface like at the top of fence? If they code the game to disallow it, then most of the "out of map" or climb at the top of invalid objects bugs will not occur.
I think many gamers will hate it because it's harder for them to go to invalid locations to cheat.
If a game ships with a lot of DLCs later, then it's not worth $60. But a lot of games are developed with this in mind nowadays. I call $60 game is nothing more than a sampler for the upcoming DLCs.
In business, there are always up and down phases. Not every new product is guaranteed to be a big profit maker immediately. But the investors don't want to deal with. It's all about more profit every quarter and year. Any drop is bad. Also, Nintendo did so well when they introduced Wii. But more developers choose "A" today because it's all about try to sell as many copies as possible (look good for the quarter sales report) and then try to milk as hard as possible on the paid DLCs (look good for total profit made). With enough marketing hypes, plenty of buyers will buy the next game again even they complained about the previous game.

No point to get excited for the next Xbox until 2+ years after the console has shipped. Obviously, lack of games at launch. I don't see as many next gen games will use full graphical power of the console because of the development cost.
So, even the next Xbox does come out end of 2012, it will be around 2015 before there are enough games made for the next gen, not X360 game converted to the next gen Xbox.
For those who want MSG1 in HD, it will take more efforts to redo all the MSG1 graphics which will be more development work than converting MGS2, 3 and Peace Walker together.

If you look at the achievements/trophies for each game, there are more trophies for PS3 version but achievements have more Gamerscore for "Gold type" for X360 version.
Real question is why didn't the developer delay the game so that the game doesn't need "day 1" patch?
To me, when I see a new game getting "day 1" patch, that means the game was rushed out the door to meet the deadline schedule before it was done. I don't believe in paying full price for a broken product out of the box.
Somehow most gamers today are happy to buy broken product out of the box as long it comes out on time.
Watch a lot of games voice acting, beyond laughable. Yet, rarely those games voice acting get discussed because most gamers don't care and just want a lot of good actions in the games.
Even sometimes the game makes fun of its "hero" because he rarely speaks. When the "hero" does speak, the voice acting is so bad.
