Shame their lead writer is such a a#hole with no respect for the genre. But the game is indeed solid.

This one is all over the place. First they say exclusive to the Xbox in the tittle, just to later adress them as "console exclusives". So I would argue that this title is alrady misleading. But the article itself is even worse with games that are not exclusives at all . Like Yakuza and Psychonauts 2. And they even said in the Psychonauts 2 description that it's not a exclusive but is coming to Game Pass.

This is just terrible.

@Knightofelemia

You said this: "as the first weird niche game I have seen on an Xbox." So I assumed that you were not aware that the original was Xbox 360 game. As if you trully was aware then it would not be the "first weird niche game that you have seen on an Xbox".

If you had specified that you were referring to an Xbox One then I wouldn't have made that comment.

While I agree that it would be nice to see it the modern Xbox. You must be new to the brand as this franchise was originally a Xbox 360 timed exclusive.

You can argue that they could have done more. But they still fixed basically all the mess they originally did with the monetization and they did support the game for about 2 years with new content. So in my books that is perfectly acceptable performance.

Yeap they really aren't the best. And is arguable that EA actually became sort of trustworth after fixing the mess of Battlefront 2 and the great Fallen Order/Rogue Squadron. Meanwhile with Ubisoft we are likely going to get a Assassin's Creed themed Star Wars. With "comestic" MTX and pay to skip stuff.

For PC players is a particular sour deal. Since it's also going to be available only on EGS and Uplay. With likely bad optimization.

That is nothing new unfortunately. Killing Floor 2 was posting trouble shooting and patches descriptions for the EGS version on the Steam forums not that long ago.

Other than the fact that Nintendo would have to share the money with developers, something that they are very unlikely to desire. A Indie style Game Pass was tested already with the service Jump. It lasted a bit more than a year cause nobody was interested in using it.

Maybe it would work on the Switch. But I wouldn't bet on something like that.

I wouldn't be so sure with LG. We are still waiting for Steam Link support.

This one is not being made by the same devs. They went to make The Surge and The Surge 2. Where they really over LoF and added a new spin to the combat.

I hope they add support for other services like Luna and Game Pass. The main strength of stremaing is being easily available.

There is also a video about emulators: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Basically it can run anything up to the PS2. But at the same price range, something like a Xbox Series S is a better deal for emulation.

As far as PC games go. It's about the performance of a Athlon 200G. So mostly 720p/low settings for most of the newer games. Though for the price of the base unit ($300) is actually...

I'm not blaming anyone here. I'm just saying what it is. Sony made changes and decisions that will negatively impact both the japanese player and the developers. And that will likely cost them sales and games in the region.

The Switch got support because for that market it was the more interesting option. The same way that the PS4 got much more support than the Wii U a couple of years back.

It's a small game. About 9 million units sold and number 3 on twitch views.
Small thing really.

Very unlikely that the PS4 will be able to pass the PS3 in sales if this continues for 2021 (In Japan). And given that the PS5 is already here. That is likely to be the case.

But I wouldn't be concerned about the PS5 for now. It's true that Sony made a bunch of decisions recently that annoyed the Japanese public and devs (censorship, changing in aproval procedures, replacing "O" with "X", etc...) and that the Japanese public itself is moving on ...

Indeed.
If it's anything like EGS exclusivity deals. Is very likely that Apple money alone already put them in the green.

1979d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It doesn't look bad. But it is not as interesting as the main line titles. And It is also a bit sad that they are continuing to focus on Apple Arcade. Instead of multiplatform releases.

1979d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well, yes. It's very unlikely that they wouldn't turn a profit on such a project. The issue is that the maximum profit that they could generate with it would be much smaller than what the NES/SNES provided. And what they could achieve with other Classic consoles, like a GB series.

Sometimes is not really about making a profit. Is about making all the profit.

They have about the same width and height. But the Xbox have 50% more depth than the PS2. It's also much heavier. Though as I mentioned both of them are still bulkier than what had came prior.

1979d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

You don't know if something will help or not before doing it... And they openned it because they didn't know how to make a console themselves. But the end result is so far from the PS2 that is very unlikely that it actually served as much of a inspiration for the actual development of the hardware.

As I mentioned. What it probably given them was a better spacial awareness of where each component go. If anything.
